Rice cakes are pan roasted so they're crispy on the outside but still chewy. The sauce has roasted onions that I burnt a little but it still worked.

i am a sucker for old cookbooks. happened to be at a recycling fair this past weekend and books were $5 for a whole bag! i now have a STACK of new-to-me books on my bookshelf. these were a couple of the cool things in my new stash. i've already flagged some of the recipes that i'm going to try!
