This was a special request from Mod Barbie Lover. Growin' Pretty Hair Francie is dressed in a pantsuit similar in style to Twiggy's. Francie also has her hair styled in a romantic up-do.

I took this shot from the top of a double decker bus, and although a reflection on the windshield of the bus is clearly visible, I thought it added to the shot rather than detract.

The small neemo is a half inch bigger in the hips compared to Licca so pattern adjustments would be need for pants. Also the arms are longer. I love how I can pose the neemo bodies and the joints aren't terribly ugly. Plus the hands can be changed. The feet can bemoved and then the legs will fit inside Barbie boots. The neemo body shown is an older model. The newer model allows great motion of the shoulder. I broke the foot on the extra small because I was being stupid, but one time a foot just broke. I fix them using pipe cleaners. Also I lost one of the shoulder or elbow joint pins. Sometimes the hands need a little bit of sanding to fit into the arms.
For Jem fans wondering how pink "This is Farewell" Jem's pink hair really is, here is a comparison picture with "Sophisticated Lady" Jem.
Farewell Jem's hair looks very slightly even more pink, but it seems they are very much the same color.

Whatever you choose to call them, this was no easy feat (wind is a scary thing). But it was pretty fun regardless. :)

Comparison between my Halo 3 and Halo 4 Warthogs. I like the Halo 3 Warthog moc better, but that's probably because I like the Halo 3 Warthog better.

Here's another quick comparison when it comes to playability and / or posability. The Clone Factory's torso can swivel on the hips whereas TLG's cannot. Also, you can see where TLG's legs must be spread pretty far in order to give him the stability to stand while looking like he's walking. The Clone Factory's is much more stable at less of a wide stance. I think that for pose & play ability The Clone Factory's Maul is much better. What do you think?
On the left, a baseplate from GEAS/Prima in Sweden. On the right a baseplate that was found near Billund in Denmark.
I believe this baseplate had 3 life phases:
1) LEGO introduced the baseplate in 1950. First it was used in Denmark to make baseplates out of CA. I do not know if the CA warping problems were already apparent then, but on all photos I have seen they are extremely warped or broken.
2) Then LEGO switched to a different (unidentified) material. The "watermelon color" baseplate on the right is of that type.
3) When LEGO introduced the 700E baseplate in Denmark in 1953, the mold was moved to Sweden to be used in the PRIMA sets. The "darker green color" baseplate on the left is of that type.
In early 1955 production by GEAS/Prima was stopped. LEGO opened its own sales agency supplied with bricks made in Norway. That was probably the end of the thin baseplate production.
I have included some detail photos of my Danish and Swedish baseplates. I believe they were made in the same mold.
One thing that is noticeable about these baseplates is that the stud diameter is not the same for every baseplate. I have heard the theory that it would be smaller on the Prima plate. On my plates, it is the reverse. Therefore, I think that we can not use stud size to determine the origins of the plates. The differences must be caused by small differences in the material, molding temperature etcetera.

Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, 1963 vs 1991 editions (with revisions). The 1963 edition is my own, bought for me in the late 60's when I was a toddler, and read to tatters. The 1991 edition belongs to my kids today. I was so familar with the older one that I immediately started noticing a few differences, and so have catalogued 10 of the more interesting differences here in this collection.
I got this girl some time ago and look what I noticed:

Here’s some comparison photos of the new Curvy MTM body next to some other dolls. She’s shorter than the Collectors Curvy body and is closer to the Fashionista Curvy but her limbs are slightly thicker.
She has almost the same poseability as an Original MTM body but due to her thicker body type it ALMOST does the same things anyway. Her ankles are as floppy as original MTM so bleh.
Surprisingly her wrists are compatible with Original MTM, which means it’s compatible with older jointed Barbie dolls with vinyl arms AND DC Super Hero Girl hands.
Her ankles though are completely different so if you were hoping to give her smaller feet you’ll need to mod the doll a lot.
Her skin tone is ALMOST Tropic Tan/Nikki but it’s slightly too pink and light. Still darker than other Caucasian skin tones though.

Here's a little comparison pic I threw together of the two SHIPs I've built so far. The last one wasn't even built for SHIPtember, I finished it a few months after the fact. :/
The Sunset's Dawn is definitely the superior ship, since the old one is basically just an elaborate box. The first one was larger, though, if that means anything.
I was bored and wanted to see the difference of the Sears Tower vs the First Christian Church. They are both built at the 1/200th scale.
So, the Carol Ferris doll has got a new body, which is why I pulled out Barbies with different body types to compare her to them. And while I was at it, I thought more people might be interested in that. So, here are the inevitable comparison shots. ;)
Here we compare the Wrighbus Gemini 3 on the left and the Gemini 2 on the right, V6 (BJ14KTL) forms the Gemini 3 from Go Ahead on the Route 12 and VH11 (BD13OHJ) forms the Gemini 2 from London Sovereign seen on the Route 13.
Lots of blabbering about the fitting of heads and a couple forums linking to another photo of mine prompted me to document what the doll bodies look like without heads. (Reference photos are one of my favorite things on flickr, so I'm happy to help other people out there!)
I nearly always remove the hooks from neck pegs when I get a new doll body. I found a lot of people linking to my photo of a pegless Fashionista body as reference to someone's question about removing heads in a doll forum, so I thought it'd be good to show the peg intact.
The neck peg's hooks with the Pivotal Sinatra body (woo new doll body) are pretty standard for a lot of Barbie dolls. Fashionistas and Monster High bodies have an additional extended peg piece for some reason, but it's fine to cut those off, too. If you're concerned about a Monster High head being floppy, just cut off the hook part and leave the extended piece to help the head balance. (I cut it off for my hybrids, though, because it was really long and wouldn't fit in the smaller heads.)
Momoko has a really nice peg without hooks. I only see 2 downsides to the neck situation on this body. 1) A lot of the necks start to crack, similar to how Barbies of the early 1990s would crack and break. This makes head swapping tricky, since each swap makes for more opportunities for the plastic to break. (This body is currently headless, since I don't know which head to put on it. Whatever head it gets next needs to be a long-term solution. The last head swap was almost a year ago, by the way.)
The Pop Life Kelly Pivotal body had the same neck peg as the Sinatra body. When I warm up heads in a heating pad to soften the plastic, I will let the neck piece sit in the heat a bit longer after the head is removed. Then, I cut off the hook part near the base of the vertical part, which goes really quickly with the warmed/softened plastic and a sharp xacto knife. (Woo, new blades!) I like to cut off a few extra chunks, so it doesn't catch on anything while inside the head and so I don't injure myself on sharp parts later. When switching around heads last night, the absence of the hook part meant the heads popped off really quickly. (I had a head fly out of my hands!)
The Obitsu body is really great but obviously has a different neck post design. The upper torso is a soft plastic cover that can be removed, and an inner torso mechanism provides the movement. The upper part of the neck under the torso-sleeve has a joint that allows head tilting. This means it doesn't have to rely on the rounded neck post like the other bodies have, so the neck post just ends there, creating a ledge or lip. For dolls like Momoko that have a recessed neck opening that starts behind the jaw, it rests fine and doesn't show. But for Mattel heads (like the other head shown in that same link), they have the upper part of their neck moulded as part of the head. This works with the rounded neck post but makes the head sit too high on the obitsu's neck post, making the neck look too long. I had to open up the Mattel head's opening and squish it past that lip-ledge to "shorten" the neck.
Many action figures have this same neck difference from Mattel's rounded posts and even other action figures, so it's a common issue. Some companies, like Hot Toys, will have a neck extender piece that can be removed. My Abbey Chase action figure has most of her neck moulded as part of her head and has the neck joint where the neck meets the shoulders. The strange thing is that I got the idea to put Abbey's head on another Pivotal body, and the skintones actually matched. Now I have to decide whether or not to risk cutting up her head/neck in order to give her a body that might suit her.

A friend told me I somewhat resembled Linda Carter's Diana Prince character from the Wonder Woman seriess in the 70's. He also made a comparison to Laura Vandervoot's Kara in disguise character from Smallville.
What do you think?

As mentioned in the previous photo, the not-quite-triangular shape of the cheese slopes causes some weird geometry. To me, the hexagon on the right seems to be more balanced, with each color being the same size, but really it is the one on the left that has each section equal in size.
In the left hexagon, each section has 12 slopes. In the right hexagon, the blue section has 12 slopes while the orange and green sections have 8 slopes each.
Anyway, I just find it a bit intriguing.
