Comparison against Onuku's drawing! (Blackwing has been changed a little since the original image)

Ancient hero...and someone from the present day... Just compare...

A comparison shot of the two vehicles.

Leica Summilux f/5.6

These three shot (entitled "Lens Comparison") compare a Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4, a Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.4 and a Lumix G Vario f/3.5 14-45mm. The pictures have been cropped to be about the same size

Here’s some comparison photos of the new Curvy MTM body next to some other dolls. She’s shorter than the Collectors Curvy body and is closer to the Fashionista Curvy but her limbs are slightly thicker.

She has almost the same poseability as an Original MTM body but due to her thicker body type it ALMOST does the same things anyway. Her ankles are as floppy as original MTM so bleh.

Surprisingly her wrists are compatible with Original MTM, which means it’s compatible with older jointed Barbie dolls with vinyl arms AND DC Super Hero Girl hands.

Her ankles though are completely different so if you were hoping to give her smaller feet you’ll need to mod the doll a lot.

Her skin tone is ALMOST Tropic Tan/Nikki but it’s slightly too pink and light. Still darker than other Caucasian skin tones though.

Can someone who owns both dolls check if the hair color of these two is the same? based on the photos she appears to have saran hair to me

waiting to see it live, I made this photographic comparison with photoshop, but the starting light conditions are different

A reference pic for 3 different types of minguns on the market.

Sadly I do not have Minifig.Cat's amazing minigun...but I will have one shortly!

If you want to see a comparison of Minifig.Cat's and Brickarms click this

From left to right:

eclipseGrafx (The Clone Factory): Good solid minigun that I picked up at Brick Magic. Love the swiveling foregrip. Nice length. However, the tip is slightly jacked...but other than that it is a great gun.

Pedro (Amazing Armory): Brilliant design. Love the detail and awesome chassis! Slightly smaller for closer combat. Nice solid detail all around.

Brickarms: Amazing minigun! Love the design and the length. The detail is excellent. Perfect for almost any fig.

Altogether...I love Pedro's for the design; eclipseGrafx for the fit; and Brickarms for the versatility.

Comparison of three Dollzone MSD girl body:

- old type (b45-002) body on left,

- new body (b45-008) in a middle

- double jointed body (b45-005 -large bust) on right.

All Normal Pink color.

These two are a comparison for exact same ToD and weather without any changes for dungeon and "normal" interior. I think I'm close to striking a good balance. Close... but not there. What do you think??

Tribute ENB 0.264 WIP

P.S. Yeah, I know those weird lights up above the bar are weird. Relighting Skyrim puts them there I think. Not sure what to do about them... Ah well. It's Skyrim... If only Bethesda actually made it so windowlights actually, you know, emit light.

I have three lenses that are prime lenses and fall within a close range in terms of mm. In no particular order they are the Lensbaby Twist 60, the TAMRON | SP 45mm F/1.8 Di VC USD and the Helios 44-2 2/58mm.

I was curious to compare their features and I came up with the idea of shooting exactly the same scene with each lens with their apertures as wide open as they could go.

The Twist 60 and the Helios are only 2mm apart yet the exposures were visibly of different sizes. The Tamron at 45mm was considerably smaller. I shot the photos from a tripod and changed lenses without disturbing the camera's position. I used Photoshop to align the images which also resized them to the same scale.

No sharpening or contrast adjustments for any of the images. I tried to even out exposures since they all had different widest aperture capabilities by adjusting shutter speeds for each picture.

The Helios by my eye has a delicate, pale look. Not sharp, but creamy in an appealing way. The Twist 60 captured warmer tones with slightly stronger contrast. The Tamron captured the deepest contrast, warm tones. Each lens rendered bokeh in very different and distinctive ways.

I like each of the lenses for their different qualities. The Helios was the least expensive lens--about $50 with a Canon adaptor and shipping.

That's the beauty of a DSLR, the incredible lenses you can put on it. I even had an adaptor for a pin hole lens.

More comparisons between my X-Wing MOC and the Red 5 hero miniature. I struggled to match the perspectives of these photos.

I’m such a stickler for details and so here’s a comparison of all the Francie bodies I own as well as a Liv body and Fashionista for a point of reference.

Left to Right: Fashionista, Bend Leg Francie (the Growing Pretty Hair doll uses the same torso and leg mold with Mexico barbie arms), Malibu/Twist and Turn Francie body, Repro 35th Anniversary Francie, Silkstone Francie, Liv body.

A lot of people say the Francie body has the same basic proportions as Vintage Francie, but I find the leg length *is* longer with a shorter pelvis and a lower waistline so clothes do hang a bit better on her body than Vintage Francie. Also she’s overall slimmer and such as well.

The repro body is just so wide and clunky, while TnT Francie’s legs look straighter and less curvy than the pear shaped bend leg Francie.

But yeah, I love Francie’s more petite body regardless of the details so yea.

Lego Star Wars Cantinas Comparison

Lego 75052 - Mos Eisley Cantina

Lego 4501 - Mos Eisley Cantina

So, a while ago, Johnathon commented asking about Prin (the one on the right) and her eyechips. (I realized the other day I never answer about that! I apologize. I hadn't looked at their eyechips enough to answer, as silly as that sounds. So sorry about that.)

I tried to take a photo to compare their eyechips but I think the flash made it weird.

Lorelei is on the left. She is a factory produced doll. The unnamed girl in the middle is one of the Kenner quints from Cincinnati. She and Prin, on the right, share some prototype qualities. I think Cincinnati girl was sort of in between. Not quite like the other dolls I have but not as different as Prin.

Yes. I do over analyze all my dolls and that's fun for me.

So I sometimes will reshoot the same thing on a different film to make a real world comparison. The time of day was the same. The light was the same. Just different film.

Two conclusions:

1) My composition was better the other day.

2) I don't really like this film.

Stack Software Comparison

Credit: Giuseppe Donatiello

Same starting material and final result for the simple average stack of five 30-second images at 400 ISO, calibrated for darks, bias, and flats, taken with a Pentacon 135mm f/2.8 lens + DSLR.

You can evaluate for yourself which stack is best.

When I saw the launch of the new Poppy Parker, I couldn't help but think of Charlotte York in the hilarious scene from Sex and the City.

Because I've always felt that the subtleties of a color are suddenly a lot easier to understand when it's sitting next to a similar color, I'm starting a series of comparison photos.

If you have any requests for color comparisons, let me know! I'll shoot them once I have both colors in stock at the same time. (which may take a while lol)

Teddy Bear vs. Cinnamon Crumpet

- both colors are light brown in nature with a subtle rosy or pinky undertone, although Cinnamon Crumpet is obviously more of a champagne color than a real light brown.

-The detailing in Teddy is silkier and smoother, while Cinnamon C. is more pearly, sparkly, and textural.

-Teddy still has some slight golden-brown sparkles though.

Incidentally, both these colors are new additions for April/May 2015!

Anyway, I hope this series will be useful for anyone who is as psycho about comparing colors and getting the undertone correct as I am!!

A comparison.

The British cruise ship Ocean Monarch, of the Shaw Savill Line, at the Quay in 1970.

Beset with industrial and mechanical problems, she would be withdrawn and scrapped (1975) despite a huge investment a few years earlier.

The final departure was marred by bottles and cans being launched by disgruntled crew members, delaying departure by 24 hours and marking the death throes of a once-great concern.

She had been built in 1957 as the Canadian Pacific Empress of England, so only 18 years young. Her near-identical sister did a bit better, lasting 52 years!

A Comparison of the Wright Gemini 2 and Gemini 3 double deck bodies can be seen here on Waterloo Bridge. Go-Ahead London General's WHV154 (BV66 VLC) is a Volvo B5LH/Wright Gemini 3 and is seen here overtaking Arriva London's DW469 (LJ61 CDE) a Wrightbus Gemini 2 integral.

For the D.D thread, picture mainly of Brimbelle, Krot, Realpuki. On your far left is a Briseis and on the far right is Lulu!

A comparison of black & white contrast filters' effect on skin tones. Samples were shot in the shade, so overall, contrast is subdued; from left to right:

The same lightning strike caught with two cameras. Right: iPhone, Left: Canon Powershot SD1100. Since it landed right at the edge of the powershot frame, that isn't a very good photo on its own, but I still think it's interesting to see the same strike on two cameras.

I couldn't assemble my good old 6927 (it donated some parts to the big brother), so just added a simple drawing to compare the sizes.

The White Bus contribution to the 81, with two early morning MF trips - on this day with Enviro 52 (YX70 OHP) seen at the end of York Road.

Ticking off operator number 5 on the 81 at this spot.

The White Bus early morning journeys are 06.34 from Acacia Avenue to Woking (arr 06.50) and then a full round trip from the station at 06.53 (arr back 07.15). This is the second of the two. The bus then works the 07.20 463 to Guildford.

This year I am going to engage in a very fun project :)

So I got a couple fake Blythe dollies to test.. and thought I'd share some info.

This is basically a neck comparison, to give you an idea of bodies compatibilities.

This is a comparison picture of two sard heads.

The one to the left is midsummer nights dream that was released in 2017, and the one to the right is Sard special order grey velvet human version who was released in 2010.

I will let the photos speak for themself, but as you can see the 2017 version seem somewhat a bitt smaller. It has been a known thing that Soom seem to be doing smaller changes to their sculpts for the different releases, and it seems to me that it is the same for this one. Both heads are pretty though.

I no longer own the 2017 sard version.
