MNNR 75 shoves between cuts of hopper cars and backs around one of the large silos still left near the UMN campus. This Commercial job is switching the AG Commodities loading facility near the stadium (background far left).
It appears someone managed to place some artwork on the top window of the elevator.
I thought it would be fun to show the direct comparison between two similar setups!

I took a shot of this striped lynx (Oxyopes salticus) mama the other day using my Vivitar (Komine) 90mm f2.8 1:1 Macro. Today, I found the same gorgeous girl still guarding her egg clutch, so I snapped a remarkably similar shot using my Phoenix (Cosina) 100mm f3.5 1:2 Macro paired with a 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter.
Right away, you can see the difference in color reproduction. The word I keep finding is "flat". The depth of the greens, and the subtle undertones of the browns and darker shades are just missing! This Phoenix lens is a really stellar lens, but can't compare frame-for-frame with the Komine 90mm. It's also worth noting the overall level of clarity!
When you zoom in, you can start to see the difference in resolving power pretty clearly. The Phoenix does a darn good job for a stack of glass in a plastic shell, but the shot captured using my Komine a few days back is much sharper on individual details. Both shots are captured at 1:1, but magnification rate does not always mean the image is worth magnifying!
Of course, both of these lens setups are literally decades behind the times and rendered fully obsolete by modern mirrorless cameras, insane 15 frames per second burst modes, and focus peaking, but it's fun to show the budget side of the hobby! You can 100% capture worthwhile images without modern gear and guided trips, you just have to learn your equipment!
This comparison was brought to you at 1:1 by my plastic fantastic Phoenix (Cosina) 100mm f3.5 Macro, attached to a Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter. This photo is uncropped. This lovely little lady is around 6-7mm long!
Since I had so many pink girls here right now I figured it would be cool to take some comparison pics.
Lens is the chunky Minolta MC Rokkor QE 100mm f3.5 Macro. In fairness I should be comparing this lens to my Pentax-M 100mm f4 macro, rather than the Rikenon. Both the Rokkor and the Pentax will focus down to half life-size.
The Pentax 'M' design philosophy was to produce lenses that were elegant, light, and compact. Almost all had a 49mm filter thread. The focus ring on the Pentax is buttery smooth and superbly dampened.
In contrast the Rokkor is like a brick (592g vs just 378g) and utilitarian in design. Yes, the lens is a smidgin faster (f3.5 vs f4), though not enough to justify the weight difference. Filter thread is 55mm. The focus ring moves in a way that suggests the lens has seen plenty of use.
While the two lenses handle quite differently, I do like the solid feel of the early Rokkor lenses.
The results so far look very nice.
As a comparison, I had photographed this same clump of daises just over a year ago - with the Rikenon.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA To my utter amazement and delight, I have actually learned to play a few tunes. Does the Zager make me a better player? Would a Jaguar make me a sports driver? Nonetheless, it is a beautifully hand crafted instrument. I occasionally pick up my Epiphone, which is a decent guitar. There's no comparison... My big splurge.
I plan few heads from few companies and plan to match with diferent bodies.
I have found, that looking at pages each time I think of some match, is very time-consuming.
So I have chosen my fav doll companies and made this pic.
Pictures are not in scale, so some of bodies are biger than others, it was mostly done for a shapes, propotions, hips, chests etc.
But all bodies are over 61 cm.
Scratch (bantam Old English Game hen) egg on the left.
Ameraucana (standard Wheaten) egg on the right.
I've heard that first eggs are usually small, so I'm guessing that since the Ameraucanas are just beginning to lay (one of them laid her first egg just before we got her on Tuesday) this is the other hen's first egg. I hope they'll get bigger over time, especially since they're getting lots of good food now.
I did a bit of an "experiment" the other day with my 50mm lens. I haven't been able to get a decent comparison shot of the difference in Dof, and I finally did.
But, for those of you who didn't know, the smaller your aperture (the larger the f number) the clearer the background becomes.

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
I have never done this before, but I had to put these two pictures together so that you can compare the differences. I used the identical prompt in MidJourney and DDT2D and this is the result. Basically I asked for a woman who was not feeling well, sitting in her bed and working on her laptop. I also wanted it in the style of Norman Rockwell. I did MJ first and was disappointed, and then I tried DDT2D and was blown away!
Don't get me wrong, I have had some incredible MJ results, but in this case, DD walks away with the honours!!
All comparisons seem to be questionable. However, and very broadly speaking, I do not think that the Fuji X-Pro3 (the camera I used for the other image) makes better photography than the old X-Pro1 (this image). It really is the photographer who makes all the difference.
Kentmere films. Recently I started using Kentmere 200, so I wanted to have a look against Kentmere 400, the film I have been using alongside HP5+ for a long time. I concluded that in most cases, in normal lighting like this, there is not an enormous difference between the two. I will, over time, discover how it'll go in more challenging lighting scenarios.

Not a great photo but it was almost dark and sometimes you have to use what you got.
The white-throated weighs in at approximately .7 to 1.3 ounces and is about 15 to 19 centimetres (5.9 to 7.5 inches) in length.
The blue-winged warbler weighs around 0.3 ounce and is in the 11-12 cm (4.3 to 4.7 inch) in length.

Another BlueRender of my AT-ST this time compared with LEGO's AT-ST for the upcoming movie Star Wars Rogue One
Also, notice how I positioned the stance of my AT-ST similar to what we saw in the second trailer of Rogue One.
Here is an example of the differences between an iPhone (7+) jpeg and 35mm dSLR raw image of a fire sunset.
Clearly, the iPhone produces an over saturated image. To render true colors of sunrises and sunsets, taking raw images results in the best "truest" depiction although less dramatic at times.

Just a comparison in size between the Viking Sky and the P&O Britannia.
The Britannia can take 3,647 passengers and 1,398 crew. The Viking Sky can take 930 passengers and 550 crew. Quite a difference to be sure but just ponder this for a moment...The Royal Caribbean Ship Wonder of the Seas (the largest in their fleet) carries 5,518 passengers and 2300 crew!

I spent some time this weekend organizing my dolls and gathered all of my Tammy dolls together for a group comparison. At least 6 were thrifty flea market finds. I can't pass by a Tammy without snatching her up.
The top row is my favorite group although then I feel badly for the others. I often travel with the one on the far left second row so she is a favorite, too. I think I paid less than $3 for her. The one with the darkest hair is wearing a Liv wig. She arrived with a hair cut.
I'll have to do a group shot of them clothed, too. I store them undressed, although I have never seen a stained Tammy body. They are rarely TLC except for hair cuts. Three of mine have had hair cuts.
I swear they were cheaper when I started collecting them and now some go for so high! Maybe it was because I was buying all of the common clothing that I already have now. Early on, I got a huge lot of stuff for $60. A huge bargain compared to what I see some selling for now.
Here’s a comparison of my both Anakin figures that I’ve made. The one on the left is his season 1 through 2 appearance and the one on the right is his season 3 through 6 appearance.

Bumba the clown
This MOC had some fun challenges. For instance, the inside construction of Bumba's head and placing his heart perfectly tight on his rounded tummy. His head, arms and feet can be posed. Bumba comes with his Sticky Magico.
Tumbi the elephant
The hardest part was making the rug on Tumbi's back stick out 1 plate thick on all sides. Also, It took me a while to figure out how to make the round shape for the circus pedestal. It has studs on top to attach Tumbi.
Gwido the penguin
Nothing to fancy here, just a fun build of a penguin on a giant skateboard!
