Pukipuki Flora Wink in NS and Pukipuki Ante in TS
I just received Pukipuki Ante in the mail a few days ago I'm not really sure how I feel about Fairyland's tan but I at least wanted to take comparison pictures of her.
see how they differ. the foot on the left is for a standard low shank machine the one on the right is for the damascus.
This is a comparison of the same photo in Color and B&W. Which do you think is best? I like the idea of comparing so much that I started a group, the Flickr B&W AND Color Pairs group. Please click on the group link below if you are interested.

Test wide open between the Yashinon-DX f1.7 on LEFT and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar f1.4 on RIGHT.
My thoughts are bi-directional about the results.
1. The Super-Multi-Coated Takumar on the RIGHT is as sharp at f1.4 as the other at f1.7, good news that is.
2. The Yashinon on the LEFT is quite a competetor, it is as sharp as a reknown Takumar. That's saying something. The build "looks" less exacting than the Takumars but from behind the viewfinder it is very nice to work. I also see from the original files that there is no color cast like either of my Takumars which have yet to be hit with the UV treatment.
I bought a set of Kenko extension tubes recently and thought it will be fun to see the difference between the using the tubes, with my 50mm, and using my 100mm macro lens.
All four photos were taken at the minimum focus distance. To make for easier comparison, I cropped the photos into a square using the width of the photos to form the length.
The main difference between using the extension tubes and a proper macro lens is that while a macro lens can focus from the minimum focus distance to infinity, an ordinary lens with and extension tube cannot.
Personal opinion, while extension tubes can bring you up close, they do not replace proper macro lens :-)

John hands are littles.
I have been working and working on getting ready to go out of town today... so after the other night I'm feeling a bit of nostalgia. Here are some oldies, but goodies.
Cadence was 20 days old, Peyton 1 month 20 days. This was even before her due date. (I cropped my fat ugly mug out.) There is just a SLIGHT difference in size here.
