He was amazing, cooked amazing food and did all the usual tricks like throwing food & utensils all over the show

Two weeks ago I went to Tahoe with the Deloitte BAs. And I must say I was impressed by Regine's wonderful cooking.
rice, kidney beans, brewers yeast, toasted wheat germ, yellow tomatoes with mandarin orange infused olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper - i'm stuffed :)

He was a submarine cook in the Navy, later worked as an hotel chef but drinking cost his job.
1950 was around the time he quit drinking and joined AA in which he was active until he died in early 1970. He took me to meetings sometimes and there were always coffee and donuts. He worked the last 20 years of his life at a large bakery as cleaning crew foreman. He liked to cook at home.
Hers is after the war, around 1949-50. When I look at it I remember we had an ice box, and a big chunk of ice was delivered regularly and placed in part of the inside.
She grew up pretty hardscrabble youngest of 9 in Durham N.C. What she did in her youth is unknown, except we know she was married at 15 had a daughter who lived with her father. We think she ended up in New London, Connecticut where she met our dad. They moved to Baltimore after the war.
My mom died early in 1973. I was living across the country and was not able to get there until the funeral.
Shortly thereafter we found out our parents had never married as my dad was still married to his first wife. Their friends didn't care, I didn't care, wish they had felt comfortable sharing with us.

We ate here. Little Chef is very underrated, as are breakfasts late at night. The eggs were a little dry but apart from that all was good.
