"Six of Toronto’s top chefs, six local farmers and six Ontario beverage producers are coming together in support of The Stop Community Food Centre at The Burroughes Building, hosted by ProvisionsTO. This inspired night of creativity will push culinary limits and provide hand picked craft wines from across the province in this six-course celebration of Ontario.

Supporting “The Stop”, a community based non for profit organization geared toward healthy and sustainable living, ProvisionsTO and friends are collaborating on a farmers’ almanac inspired event. The Stop and farmers almanac ideals of conservation, sustainable living and agriculture are all core values we can agree on!
Farmers who are supporting the cause and donating the goods are Ontario’s best pork from Off The Bone, Canada’s diverse ocean wildlife from Fisherfolk, Prince Edwards County’s Vicki’s Veggies, Grassroots Organics, Marc’s Mushrooms and Cookstown Greens. Beverage producers supporting the evening are Southbrook Vineyards, Rosewood Estates Winery, Izumi Sake, Redtail Vineyard, Karlo Estates, Handsome Brut, Dillions Distillery and Tequila Tromba.

Chef José Andrés held a viewing at Jaleo of "Iron Chef" in which he competed with Bobby Flay. By his smile, it should be obvious who was victorious.

"Van," the owner of Esca, Burgers and Shakes (at Thanon Phra-Arthit) was preparing his Duck Spagetthi, one of the special menu of the day. His single-serve cooking let everyone in the restaurant tastes due to an excess of smoke seen in the picture. For those of you who are Thai or foreigners visiting Bangkok - make sure to stop by!

As executive chef of Eldorado, Anthony Smith brings sensational flavors to the Old House, Eldorado’s restaurant, by mixing American and regional ingredients with Asian flavors. In addition to The Old House, Smith oversees all food and beverage for 20,000 square feet of meetings and function space in Santa Fe’s largest ballroom and room service for all 219 rooms of the hotel. Smith enjoys working at Eldorado because he plays a very hands-on role with the catering operations, teaching the culinary team and rejuvenating the iconic restaurant.
Before joining Eldorado, Smith was the executive chef at The Westin Stonebriar Resort in North Dallas and oversaw the opening of The Sheraton Stonebriar. Smith has also served as chef at The Westin Atlanta North in Atlanta, Ga., and executive sous chef at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz. While developing his culinary style among award-winning European Chefs that mentored Smith, a passion grew for the hospitality environment where he developed a definitive style and command of multi-faceted hotel gastronomy.
Growing up in England, Smith became passionate about the culinary arts after creating marmalade with Seville oranges and at the age of 16, he decided to begin his career in the culinary arts. Smith earned a degree in Culinary & Patisserie Arts and Hotel and Restaurant management from The City & Guilds of London. A native of London, Smith is an avid fan of the Chelsea football club of the English Premier League and enjoys traveling, especially to Thailand for the “street food,” wine and microbrews. When he is not cooking and traveling, Smith can be found making his own home brewed beers.
Jag överlevde första natten, utan bett på min kropp. Macke berättade dock att bed bugens bett börjar synas först efter 2-3 dagar så det är väl dumt att säga för mycket än. Natten var dock inte så ljuvlig som jag hade hoppats på. Jag frös och vaknade flera gånger av att det inte kändes som att jag hade något täcke på mig, vilket jag hade. Reselakanet är enormt smidigt men speciellt varmt är det tyvärr inte. Men jag var inte ensam om att frysa, även David (colombianen) hade samma besvär och han tror att det berodde på att altandörren som angränsar till vårt rum stod på glänt under natten. Gissa vad jag ska kontrollera innan jag lägger mig..
Jag började sen dagen på bästa sätt. För första gången på en vecka hade jag telefon-/Skype-kontakt med familj och släkt på hemmaplan i Svearike. Väldigt kul måste jag säga! Att få se mormors och morfars glädje när vi kom på att vi kunde ha videosamtal och se varandra var oslagbart.
Resten av dagen har gått till att köpa mat i köpcentret som ligger i Burwood, 15 minuters gång här ifrån. Vi provade även gymmet för första gången och det imponerade på mig, många bra maskiner, stereo och fria vikter. Dubbla tummar upp! Undertecknad kan intyga att det var underbart skönt att få träna lite för första gången på australiensisk mark.
Dagens bild kommer från när vi lagade middag. Jag kan inte jämföra mina tassar med pappas, men jag kan garantera er att mina inte är små. I min hand håller jag i en australiensisk potatis köpt på Coles - vår nya favvo matkedja. Det där kallar jag riktiga potäter!
