Opened in 1888 with a seating capacity of around 3000, the Shakespeare, along with the Hippodrome, staged some of the best acts in the land. With the demise of popular theatre following the growth in popularity of television, it fell into disuse. It was demolished in 1976 following a fire.

The National Mosque of Malaysia (Malay: Masjid Negara Malaysia, مسجد نݢارا مليسيا) is a mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It has a capacity for 15,000 people and is situated among 53,000 m2 of gardens. The original structure was designed by a three-person team from the Public Works Department: UK architect Howard Ashley, and Malaysians Hisham Albakri and Baharuddin Kassim. The engineer in charge of the construction of the mosque, which commenced in 1963 was Antony Morris. It was built on the site of a church, the Venning Road Brethren Gospel Hall, which had stood there since 1922 but was appropriated by the Malaysian government. The mosque is a bold and modern approach in reinforced concrete, symbolic of the aspirations of a then newly independent Malaysia.
Its key features are a 73-metre-high minaret and a 16-pointed star concrete main roof. The umbrella, synonymous with the tropics, is featured conspicuously – the main roof is reminiscent of an open umbrella, the minaret's cap a folded one. The folded plates of the concrete main roof are a creative solution to achieving the larger spans required in the main gathering hall. Reflecting pools and fountains spread throughout the compound.
HISTORY
Malaya gained its independence from the British government on 31 August 1957. Major development programs in areas of economy, social and architecture were actively implemented in line with the new government. The programs were also to portray new progressive culture and achieved democracy. Therefore, on 30 July 1957, in the meeting of the Federal Executive Council an idea to build a national mosque as a symbol of the country’s independence was mooted. In another meeting on 5 March 1958, Chief Ministers of the eleven states in the Federation of Malaya, a proposal was made to name the mosque Masjid Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, in recognition of Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman's efforts in guiding the country to gaining independence. However, Tunku refused this honour; on the contrary he named it Masjid Negara in thanksgiving for the country’s peaceful independence without bloodshed. On Friday, 27 August 1965, the mosque was declared open by the third Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the late Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis.
The mosque underwent major renovations in 1987, and the once-pink concrete roof is now clad in green and blue tiles. Today, Masjid Negara continues to stand sleek and stylish against the Kuala Lumpur skyline. An underground passage leads to the National Mosque located near the railway station, along Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. Its unique modern design embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art calligraphy and ornamentation. Near the mosque is the Makam Pahlawan (Heroes' Mausoleum), a burial ground of several Malaysian Muslim leaders. Makam Pahlawan is a 7-pointed star concrete roofed structure.

CHITRAL: Three days training workshop on Capacity building of Water
and Sanitation committees was concluded today in a local hotel. The
training workshop was conducted by Aga Khan Planning and Building
Services (APBS) and Water and Sanitation Extension Program (WASEP)
Chitral. District coordination Officer Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir was
chief guest on the occasion who along with other guests distributed
certificates among the successful stakeholders (participants) on
completion of 3 days training. Addressing on the occasion DCO Chitral
highly hailed contribution of civil society especially of Aga Khan
Development Network in uplifting and promoting of Chitral. He said
that although this is responsibility of state to provide all basic
amenities to its citizens but being a big district of Khyber
Pahtonkhwa and having less population than its land it is not possible
for government to overcome all problems. And that is why the district
administration always appreciates contribution of civil society in
development of Chitral. He stressed upon the participants to be
benefited from such fruitful workshops and to communicate these good
messages to their communities.
Speakers on the occasion said that only 24% people of Chitral using
potable drinking water but the remaining population is still deprived
because of lack of awareness and spirit of voluntarism for free work
as labor in launching these water supply schemes. Main objective of
this 3 days training workshop to enhance mutual harmony and to
interact line departments and civil societies with each other for
sustainable development of Chitral and to success these benefited
programs of hygienically clean drinking water in Chitral. As well as
to motivate the local community to be avoid from wastage of clean
water and also to avoid from using contaminated water for drinking
purposes Nizar Ali Shah senior social organizer of AKPBS briefed the
participants as resource person regarding social organization. Senior
engineer Mohsin Ali Khan highlighted different aspects of the project
on engineering point of view. As well as he briefed the participants
about the criteria, procedure and technical characteristics of water
schemes by WASEP. Javed Ahmad health and Hygiene Officer talked about
health and hygiene and stressed upon the stake holders on using only
potable and hygienically clean water for drinking purposes because 70%
disease are creating from contaminated water. Mushtaq Ahmad delivered
lecture on water quality monitoring system. Area Manager of AKPBS
Muhammad Karam thanked all participants and officers of district
administration as well as station Director of Radio Pakistan Chitral
for their participation and keen interest in this beneficial workshop.
He said that either we work in public sector or civil society but our
beneficiaries are the same and that are public. A large number of
women folk also attended the workshop. He also specially thanked to
Ali Qurban deputy Training Coordinator from Gilgit, Noor Alim Training
officer and other experts who cordially participated in this training
workshop.

The Hawker 400 is a small twin-engine corporate aircraft, designed by Raytheon's Beech Aircraft Company subsidiary, now part of Hawker Beechcraft.
The aircraft was originally designed as the Mitsubishi MU-300 Diamond, an all-new, all-jet development to complement and slot above the Mitsubishi MU-2 and provide Mitsubishi Heavy Industries with their top-of-the-line corporate aircraft model (hence the name "Diamond")[1]. Beechcraft bought the production rights and began manufacturing it as their own model, initially redesignated as the Beechjet 400. The Beechjet 400 was certified by the FAA in May 1985.
Raytheon/Beechcraft steadily developed their own improvements to the model, leading to the 400A in 1990. Improvements in the 400A include longer range, higher take-off weights and improved luxury appointments. An all-glass flight deck was also offered. Beechcraft also developed a version for the United States Air Force known as the T-1A Jayhawk, used as a trainer for large aircraft crews (such as tankers and strategic transports). A total of 180 T-1A trainers were delivered between 1992-1997. Another military variant is the Japan Air Self-Defense Force T-400 trainer which shares the same Type Certificate as the T-1A.[2]
In 1993 Raytheon purchased the Hawker business jet product line from British Aerospace. The Beechjet 400 was eventually renamed the Hawker 400 to map it into the Hawker product line. The Hawker 400XP incorporates further aerodynamic, mechanical and interior improvements gleaned from the Hawker 800XP.
In October 2008, Hawker Beechcraft announced upgrades to the design, resulting in the new model designation Hawker 450XP.[citation needed] Upgrades include new, more fuel efficient engines (Pratt & Whitney PW535D models with 2,965 pounds of thrust apiece) Collins Pro Line 21 avionics and Collins Venue cabin management/entertainment system and a complete interior upgrade.[

At a seminar held at Islamabad Bar Association on Media Ethics and Court Reporting, Mr. Shafquat M. Abbasi, Chairman Press Council of Pakistan announced the need for capacity building of the journalists reporting on court issues, especially investigative journalism.
The Press Council of Pakistan Ordinance was promulgated in 2002. The Council works for the freedom of the press and the rights of the common man. It is independent, autonomous and self-regulatory institutions, which will be, develop good media practice.
Shafquat Abbasi, Chairman Press Council Of Pakistan praised the role of media and enlightened that Media is working with integrity and pride and the press is vibrant and independent in Pakistan. He negated the concept that media is glorifying terrorism and violence and applauded the efforts of journalists reporting on terrorism and conflict.
Shafquat Abbasi proposed to start a series of short certificate programs for court and crime reporters in collaboration with Mishal Pakistan, lawyer fraternity and the Center for International Media Ethics (CIME).
Amir Jahangir, CEO Mishal Pakistan, media and strategic communications entity in Pakistan, offered their services to the Press Council of Pakistan in developing media’s capacity on crime and court reporting on the lines of investigative journalism. Mishal Pakistan is already working on increasing the capacity of investigative journalism and responsible reporting in Pakistan, the programme also known as AGAHI is being collaborative effort with the Press Clubs and Journalists associations across Pakistan.
Participants and speakers emphasized on the role of responsible and ethical court reporting in creating awareness among the masses and iterated that a responsible media can bring a positive change in the society. A few speakers also pointed out that the role of media owners refraining ethical reporting amid personal interests. It was emphasized that media should be free of the influence of personal liking and disliking of the owners.
Zaman Mughal, President Crime and Court Reporters Association Islamabad stated that the crime reporters vow to follow rules and regulations and it is a collaborative effort to follow ethical standards of reporting.
Syed Sultan Shah, senior member and former president of court and crime reporters association Rawalpindi discussed the major problems being faced by journalists reporting criminal court proceedings.
At the occasion the lawyers fraternity demanded for ethical court reporting and offered a helping hand to the Press Council of Pakistan in preparing a programme for the journalists.
The establishment of Press Council is a step towards strengthening the fourth pillar of the state. The Press Council of Pakistan’s mandate is to maintain high standards of fairness while addressing the public complaints against the media. The council includes: Four members by the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, Four members by the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, Four members by the professional bodies of Journalists, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council, Chairperson or nominee of the Higher Education Commission, One member by the Leader of the House in the National Assembly, One member by the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, One mass media reductionist to be nominated by the Council, One woman to be nominated by the National Commission on Status of Women in Pakistan.

The iconic fighter of World War II, the P-51 Mustang, came about as a result of the desperate need of the British for fighters in 1939, as the war started. British industry was at capacity producing the Hurricane and Spitfire, and of the American fighters being produced or planned, the RAF only saw the P-40 Warhawk as being able to fight German Bf 109s. With Curtiss itself at maximum output building P-40s, the British approached North American, who had been trying to sell the RAF the B-25 Mitchell, with an offer to license-build P-40s. North American’s president, James Kindleberger, had a better idea: design and build an entirely new fighter based around the P-40’s Allison V-1710 engine. The RAF was willing to fund a prototype, as long as it also cost less than $40,000 and could be delivered by January 1941: the contract was signed in April 1940. North American flew the first NA-73 prototype in October, only 178 days later.
Given the short time North American had gone from a blank sheet of paper to a flyable aircraft, one might expect that the NA-73 fell short of the requirement. It actually improved upon it. The RAF had only desired four .30 caliber machine guns; the NA-73 had that plus four .50 caliber machine guns (two in the wings with the .30s and two in the cowl). Despite its thin, highly aerodynamic fuselage, it had a large fuel capacity that could make it an escort fighter as well as an interceptor. Moreover, it incorporated two radical design features: one was mounting the radiator below the fuselage; besides saving space, it also allowed the pilot to force hot air out of the radiator to give a boost in speed. Most radical was the use of a laminar-flow wing. Compressibility, where air going over a wing would reach supersonic speeds and cause the aircraft to accelerate out of control in a dive, was a minor problem in the P-40 and notorious on the P-38 Lightning. With a laminar-flow wing, airspeed over the wing never reached supersonic speeds, preventing compressibility without sacrificing maneuverability. The RAF eagerly accepted the design as the Mustang Mk.I and it entered production in mid-1941.
When the RAF began operating the Mustang in combat, however, they found that the fighter, while able to maneuver with even the Focke-Wulf 190 and with plenty of range, was sluggish and slow above 15,000 feet. This was due to the V-1710 engine, which had never been designed for high altitude performance. North American had experienced misgivings about the V-1710, but it had been part of the specification. Mustang Mk. Is still were useful in low-level roles, especially reconnaissance, and the USAAF took interest in it as a ground-attack aircraft, ordering 500 as the A-36A Apache.
In April 1942, a Rolls-Royce technician got a chance to fly a Mustang Mk.I, and was suitably impressed by its manueverability. He was interested in if a bigger engine could be used on the aircraft, and five Mustangs were turned over to Rolls-Royce to be equipped with a Merlin engine and a propeller adapted from the Spitfire IX. The test pilots were stunned by the increase in performance: above 15,000 feet, the Merlin-engined Mustang not only retained its agility and range, speed was increased to 433 mph and the ceiling to 40,000 feet. North American learned of the tests and embarked on a redesign, culminating in the P-51B: this had a strengthened fuselage and wider radiator for the more powerful Merlin; the armament was reduced to save weight to four (later six) .50 caliber machine guns in the wings. With drop tanks fitted under the wings, the P-51B was capable of flying anywhere in Europe. The Mustang had at last realized its full potential, and the USAAF, which had been taking catastrophic losses to bombers over Germany due to the lack of long-range fighters, now had one.
P-51Bs began reaching Europe in August 1943, and when they reached the 8th Air Force in numbers by late 1943, the situation in the air above Europe began to change. While P-51 pilots loved the responsiveness and speed of the Mustang, a few problems did crop up: the gunsight was difficult to use, the guns had a tendency to jam, the glycol cooling system for the engine was easy to hit and would doom the P-51 instantly, and the P-51B lacked vision to the rear. In response, North American designed the P-51D, which solved most of the problems: it had a cut-down rear fuselage and incorporated a bubble canopy, giving the P-51D the best visibility of any fighter of the war; the adoption of the K-14 gunsight was much easier to use and more accurate; the machine guns were set upright and spaced along the dihedral of the wing rather than along the path of flight, making them more accurate as well and mostly curing the jamming problem. Nothing could be done about the glycol system, and more P-51s would be lost to ground fire hitting the glycol tank than any other reason.
P-51s would bear much of the responsibility of sweeping the Luftwaffe from the air. It could outperform the Bf 109 in all respects and be even with a Fw 190 below 15,000 feet—above 20,000 feet, the Mustang had the advantage. Nearly 5000 German aircraft would be shot down by P-51s, the highest total claimed by any Allied fighter during World War II. Nearly a thousand more Japanese aircraft would be added to that total, as P-51Ds began reaching the Pacific in 1944 as escorts for B-29 bombers. It is generally considered by aviation historians as the finest fighter of World War II and by some to be the most pure fighter ever built.
Redesignated F-51 by the newly independent USAF in 1948, the Mustang’s combat duties were not yet over: though not really suited for the role, the availability of aircraft meant that the F-51 would be used as ground-attack fighters throughout the Korean War. The P-51 had been exported to 55 nations during and after the war, and it would see service in the Arab-Israeli conflicts, various brushfire wars in Central and South America, and in the Philippines. The last F-51 in US service (ironically, US Army service) did not leave until 1968, while the Dominican Republic operated P-51s as frontline fighters until 1984. Of 16,766 P-51s produced, over 250 survive to the present day, with nearly 140 flyable examples, making the P-51 the best preserved World War II-era aircraft.
In November 1944, the USAAF, North American, and the US Navy conducted Project Seahorse, a plan to modify the P-51 Mustang for naval operations. As B-29 Superfortress losses mounted to Japanese fighters over Japan itself, the USAAF considered basing P-51s off Navy carriers in the escort role. With minimal modifications--some reinforcement of the airframe and the addition of a tailhook--experiments were carried out with a single P-51. Seahorse was deemed a success: in some ways, the P-51 was actually easier to bring aboard than a F4U Corsair. Despite this, the fall of Iwo Jima in February 1945 rendered the project moot.
Dad heard about the Seahorse Mustang, and decided to have a little fun with it. He had a Monogram 1/48 scale P-51D lying around, so he built it as a "what-if" US Navy Mustang. Using the designation nomenclature of the time, a navalized P-51D would likely have been designated F1J-4--F for fighter, 1 for first design, J for North American, and -4 for the fourth variant, in this case the P-51D.
This "F1J-4" is painted in US Navy midwar tricolor camouflage, with the single tail stripe and green spinner of Dad's old carrier, the USS Yorktown (CV-10)--hence the "10" number on the fuselage. Throw in a few Japanese kills, and you have a believable Navy Mustang. When I displayed this at a model show a few years back, I had some people fooled into thinking it had been a real aircraft!

The Press Council of Pakistan Ordinance was promulgated in 2002. The Council works for the freedom of the press and the rights of the common man. It is independent, autonomous and self-regulatory institutions, which will be, develop good media practice.
Shafquat Abbasi, Chairman Press Council Of Pakistan praised the role of media and enlightened that Media is working with integrity and pride and the press is vibrant and independent in Pakistan. He negated the concept that media is glorifying terrorism and violence and applauded the efforts of journalists reporting on terrorism and conflict.
Shafquat Abbasi proposed to start a series of short certificate programs for court and crime reporters in collaboration with Mishal Pakistan, lawyer fraternity and the Center for International Media Ethics (CIME).
Amir Jahangir, CEO Mishal Pakistan, media and strategic communications entity in Pakistan, offered their services to the Press Council of Pakistan in developing media’s capacity on crime and court reporting on the lines of investigative journalism. Mishal Pakistan is already working on increasing the capacity of investigative journalism and responsible reporting in Pakistan, the programme also known as AGAHI is being collaborative effort with the Press Clubs and Journalists associations across Pakistan.
Participants and speakers emphasized on the role of responsible and ethical court reporting in creating awareness among the masses and iterated that a responsible media can bring a positive change in the society. A few speakers also pointed out that the role of media owners refraining ethical reporting amid personal interests. It was emphasized that media should be free of the influence of personal liking and disliking of the owners.
Zaman Mughal, President Crime and Court Reporters Association Islamabad stated that the crime reporters vow to follow rules and regulations and it is a collaborative effort to follow ethical standards of reporting.
Syed Sultan Shah, senior member and former president of court and crime reporters association Rawalpindi discussed the major problems being faced by journalists reporting criminal court proceedings.
At the occasion the lawyers fraternity demanded for ethical court reporting and offered a helping hand to the Press Council of Pakistan in preparing a programme for the journalists.
The establishment of Press Council is a step towards strengthening the fourth pillar of the state. The Press Council of Pakistan’s mandate is to maintain high standards of fairness while addressing the public complaints against the media. The council includes: Four members by the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, Four members by the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors, Four members by the professional bodies of Journalists, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council, Chairperson or nominee of the Higher Education Commission, One member by the Leader of the House in the National Assembly, One member by the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, One mass media reductionist to be nominated by the Council, One woman to be nominated by the National Commission on Status of Women in Pakistan.

3 days training workshop on Capacity Building of Water and Sanitation
committees concluded.
CHITRAL: Three days training workshop on Capacity building of Water
and Sanitation committees was concluded today in a local hotel. The
training workshop was conducted by Aga Khan Planning and Building
Services (APBS) and Water and Sanitation Extension Program (WASEP)
Chitral. District coordination Officer Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir was
chief guest on the occasion who along with other guests distributed
certificates among the successful stakeholders (participants) on
completion of 3 days training. Addressing on the occasion DCO Chitral
highly hailed contribution of civil society especially of Aga Khan
Development Network in uplifting and promoting of Chitral. He said
that although this is responsibility of state to provide all basic
amenities to its citizens but being a big district of Khyber
Pahtonkhwa and having less population than its land it is not possible
for government to overcome all problems. And that is why the district
administration always appreciates contribution of civil society in
development of Chitral. He stressed upon the participants to be
benefited from such fruitful workshops and to communicate these good
messages to their communities.
Speakers on the occasion said that only 24% people of Chitral using
potable drinking water but the remaining population is still deprived
because of lack of awareness and spirit of voluntarism for free work
as labor in launching these water supply schemes. Main objective of
this 3 days training workshop to enhance mutual harmony and to
interact line departments and civil societies with each other for
sustainable development of Chitral and to success these benefited
programs of hygienically clean drinking water in Chitral. As well as
to motivate the local community to be avoid from wastage of clean
water and also to avoid from using contaminated water for drinking
purposes Nizar Ali Shah senior social organizer of AKPBS briefed the
participants as resource person regarding social organization. Senior
engineer Mohsin Ali Khan highlighted different aspects of the project
on engineering point of view. As well as he briefed the participants
about the criteria, procedure and technical characteristics of water
schemes by WASEP. Javed Ahmad health and Hygiene Officer talked about
health and hygiene and stressed upon the stake holders on using only
potable and hygienically clean water for drinking purposes because 70%
disease are creating from contaminated water. Mushtaq Ahmad delivered
lecture on water quality monitoring system. Area Manager of AKPBS
Muhammad Karam thanked all participants and officers of district
administration as well as station Director of Radio Pakistan Chitral
for their participation and keen interest in this beneficial workshop.
He said that either we work in public sector or civil society but our
beneficiaries are the same and that are public. A large number of
women folk also attended the workshop. He also specially thanked to
Ali Qurban deputy Training Coordinator from Gilgit, Noor Alim Training
officer and other experts who cordially participated in this training
workshop.
