CSX 8818 leads 9 more units on Q-353 at CP SINNS in Liberty Boro, PA on a gloomy April 14, 2006. Not a wide cab in sight, and the only GE is a C30-7. Q-353 and Q-352 often were the trains used to shuttle local power around and often had large engine consists.
CSX Q264 comes around the corner in Framingham. Locomotives in order are ES44DC # 5213, CW44AC # 344, and CW44AC # 547. Taken on 4/20/12.

Had I known CSX would be spending an eternity debating the differences of PTC putting a train in emergency, as compared to suppression, dealing with radios that work perfectly fine, but no one can seem to hear anything, and all the usual CSX BS, I'd have probably chosen a different location. But, when we have something other than a GE leading a main line freight, we do what's needed. CSX train Q158, combined with train W019 is west on the Trenton Sub., at about MP QA 9.7
CSX local Y-101 pulls into the Wayneport siding at CP359 in Perinton, NY on February 22, 2020. The local had just come off the Shore and the dispatcher just wanted them out of the way for a bit, as the mainline became very busy. After the traffic cleared up, the local reversed out of the siding and shoved West to Rochester.

After spending the previous day filming the Norfolk Southern Railroad, today I managed to see a Norfolk Southern engine leading a train for CSX! Here we have a Norfolk Southern ES-40DC leading a CSX ES44AH engine, as they pull a Southbound ethanol tanker car train through downtown Cartersville, GA on the old CSX Western & Atlantic (W&A) Subdivision.
CSX GP30m's 4217, 4251, and a Chessie GP38 head West with a coke train at CP29 in Beaver Falls, PA on September 15, 1992. The train had waited for a few meets with some Eastbounds, which I photographed, giving me some more 30 Thursday material for the future.
At Robert St Bridge. with all CSX hoppers and a very long train. (OXLRU 5,655 ft)
Had a typical Railfan moment of frustration when this train was lined there was perfect sun but the Robert St Bridge tender said it was change of shift so could they "stand by" which turned into twenty minutes and, of course, the clouds rolled in.
CSX Y194 crossing one of few remaining rail bridges to reach Zug island. Seen here shoving their small cut of tank cars back into the yard. This shot is pretty cool because you can see the new Gordie Howe International bridge piers being constructed. This will be the gateway from Detroit to Windsor and replacing the crumbling Ambassador Bridge.
CSX local train B769 heads back to DeWitt Yard just east of CP293, found it while sorting through photos on another subject; at first it looked like one piece of glass for the windshield but it's two.
A standard cab SD50 EMD engine leads a Northbound CSX freight train across the Etowah River bridge on the South side of Cartersville, GA on September 27, 2014.

As a patch of dark clouds overtake the morning sun, an empty CSX Grain Train powers through the S curve passing the Lakepoint development at Emerson, GA heading Northbound on the famed Western & Atlantic (W&A) Subdivision. This was the first time I ever saw a grain train with a couple of freight cars in the mix.
A trio of EMD engines (GP40-2, GP38-2, and GP40-3) pull the previous days CSX A703 train (Cartersville to Atlanta manifest/freight train) back to the yard in Cartersville. The train is seen here passing over the high fill at Emerson, GA on the CSX W&A Subdivision.

CSX 6147 still in Chessie Cat paint leads CSX train R138 at the signals at College Station in Beaver Falls, PA on October 23, 1992. Those Chessie colors sure looked nice among the fall foliage.
A pair of BNSF ES44C4 engines power a train load of phosphate covered hopper cars Southbound along the side track of the CSX W&A Subdivision at Emerson, GA on 2/4/2015. The train would stop here and wait for over 6 hours before continuing its run South. BTW this location is now covered with restaurants and a family fun park that's part of the Lakepoint Development.
