CSX 6482 leads R-136 on the ex P&LE at Wampum, PA on April 25, 1993. It appears that 6482 received a recent application of yellow paint to its nose. Either that or the nose was recently washed. I really should rescan this to get it sharper, now that I know how to do that, but I just don't feel motivated enough to dig thru the slide boxes and find it again. lol
Faux 30 2265 leads CSX train Q380 that is stopped on the main at New Castle Yard in Mahoningtown, PA on December 11, 1993. It started to snow hard shortly after the train arrived.
January 21, 2018: CSX intermodal Q142-20 (Jacksonville, FL - North Baltimore, OH) with a pair of GE engines (AC4400CW and CW44AH) sweeps across the Etowah River near Cartersville, GA on the CSX Western & Atlantic Subdivision just shortly before the sunlight disappears.
Shot from the overpass just off US 31W in the late afternoon. Only shot I've ever taken here despite going past it for the past two decades.
The eagle on the flanks of CSX 2026 looks good. I was glad I could get a few detail pics of the units in Buffalo on August 8, 2026.
A rerouted CSX freight train powers Southbound over the old W&A tracks at Cartersville, GA on a cool fall day in Georgia. A pair of Union Pacific EMD engines (SD70M, SD70ACE) are providing the power this day, and my friend David is on board as the conductor. Taken on 11/25/2013.

A single CSX SD50-2 EMD engine pulls a string of MOW track equipment across the Etowah River bridge just South of Cartersville, GA on the CSX W&A Subdivision on 3/17/2017.
The equipment is headed for the Cartersville Subdivision that's just a few miles North of this location, where track work is being performed further down its line.
A G088 grain train going east by the Amtrak platform in Connellsville after a six-inch snowfall that coated all the trees in white. CSX 7306 is former CR 6066 built May 1990.

CSX K610-26 cruises westbound on the main at Stony Hill Road in Yardley with a loaded Ethanol train for Philly powered by a duo of UP GEs. The leader, UP 6944, is a C4460AC, and was renumbered from 7555 upon conversion from its original 6000 HP status. If you look up UP 6944 on google, you'll find very few images of this unit. January 28, 2017.
CSX 4029 leads a couple of BNSF fatheads on K-021 at CP382 in Riga, NY on the afternoon of February 13, 2021. I don't care for the square cabs on the SD40-3's, but it's better than the fatheads.
CSX SD50 8356 sits near Naperville, IL at 111th Street, where it will tie down and wait for a CN crew.
CSX CW44AC 36 is dragged onto the turntable in Cumberland to be taken for a spin before heading into the shops.
CSX Local Y122 passes through CP 17 and is about to arrive at Rockport Yard . The train will turn back later in the day to CSX Collinwood Yard.

Clouds from an approaching cold front cover the sky, as the Southbound CSX manifest/freight train powers over the fill at Emerson, GA on the famed Western & Atlantic (W&A) subdivision. This was the 2nd time in 3 days I caught this same train, and both times an EMD SD40-3 was leading the charge.

Louisville-bound M217 crosses the large three mile long bridge at Rahm, Indiana on CSX's Henderson Subdivision. In less than a half mile the train will cross the Ohio River into Kentucky.

A pair of CSX EMD engines (SD40-3, SD70MAC) pull a load of new crossties Southbound on the CSX Cartersville Subdivision just West of Cartersville, GA. The crew is dropping the ties along the line in preparation of upcoming track work.
