The ultimate in Air BnB's. Plenty of air and no pesky walls to keep you from communing with nature's critters or consuming them in the obligatory breakfast. I'm always amazed at the deals you can find on the internet.
Image imagined in MidJourney AI and finished with Topaz Studio and Lightroom Classic.
White birch trees (Betula pubescens) with the Hverfjall ring volcano in the background, Hverir, north Iceland. It's unusual to see a natural stand of trees in Iceland, so this stand of birch caught my eye.

This beautiful eastern bluebird was nice enough to pose briefly. I have found that we have some residing year-round nearby, but they tend to be shy and evasive. Occasionally, I get a chance to photograph one. They are in the same family as American robins (thrush) and if you look closely as pictures of both species you can see resemblance in the overall shape, beak and mannerisms.

One more from the way back machine before I move on. Same day as previous shots, along the banks of the Mississippi River. Again, the bend in the river made this shot, looking back at the bank possible, without having a boat.
A negative image printed on gampi paper with gold leaf applied underneath. Scanned and inverted to get a positive image and a blue color from the gold leaf.
Original photo made with a Kodak Baby Brownie Special (127 film camera)

Happy Boxing Day my lovely Flickr Friends.
I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday.
Christmas in the Land of the Laid Back Deweys followed our usual tradition ... tea and presents (but not too early in the morning), then a bit of lazing around, then off to Salisbury Plain for our peaceful meander around the byways.
We've been lucky in recent years, because we've had quite a few bright Christmas Days, that have afforded us lots of photo ops.
Yesterday was NOT bright. Yesterday was grey, with a bit more grey and some drizzle thrown in.
But it was still fun. We still laughed at our own jokes, gave each other copious amounts of cheek, and we even got a few photographs. For me photography-wise, it was a day of trees in the mist ....
