Low sunshine catches some trees bare but for moss near the tiny village of Stert (population 176) in Wiltshire.
“I am only one, but still I am one.
I can not do everything, but still I can do something;
and because I can not do everything,
I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

Or maybe it was the parking lot at our regular supermarket.

"And take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow"
Bob Dylan "Mr. Tambourine Man"
The sun —setting behind bare trees— seems to ignite the autumnal, cloud-laden skies. The heavens convey the impression of being on fire, extinguishable by neither the nearby flowing Peneus river nor the stormy, rainy weather ahead.
The glorious sunset occurs in the western part of the sky over Meteora, Greece. It is strongly reminiscent of the bible’s burning bush, as well as of the poem line:
“The heavens were all on fire, the earth did tremble”
—William Shakespeare (Henry Ⅳ)

We had a pretty amazing sunset the other day, blues, reds, purples, magentas, orange....Good stuff in a nearly snowless winter thus far.

OK, so by now everyone knows that we really got a bit cheated out of a winter ... but we did have a few glimpses of the white stuff. Like the day that we were up on the Colorado National Monument and saw a white "blanket" over the Loma area. Of course, we had to check it out and sure enough, it was a beautiful snow cover over the landscape of Highline Lake State Park in western CO.
It even lasted for a few days, which is something that we never experienced ... unless you call an overnight snowfall 2 days. LOL
The current blog post is short and sweet ... just like our winter ... and features a few winter landscapes ... rural style. Feel free to check it out by clicking:

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Hope everyone has great stuff planned for the weekend. I hope to ... and it's something that I've never experienced before, so I'm quite excited, but I don't want to jinx myself. Stay tuned.
