Boxing Day 2016 in Red Beck Valley, Hove Edge, Brighouse

(Brighouse Echo 29/12/2016)

Worte...

Bare trees have a power that the most lush ones don't.... The bare ones have nothing to lose.

A gap in the trees, on a sunny March day

Taken at Norland (near Sowerby Bridge - the base for BBC's drama "Happy Valley")

Just liked how the tree branches looked against this sky..

I suppose you could swim in the icy cold water, but you'll have to hike a couple hundred yards to the ice edge at Old Mission Lighthouse Beach.

Just a country field, filled with weeds and grasses…a few wildflowers and a backdrop of bare trees. Even so, it seemed magical to me.

This is only a matter of 400/500 metres from my home, a lovely little valley in all seasons.

It's name is the Waterclough Valley (nicknamed the Red Beck Valley as in times past the was a brick works which leaked clays into the stream and turned the colour red !!!)

Located in Brighouse (Hove Edge) and over that hill is Halifax.

A 'lonely' tree !

In the Red Beck Valley, Hove Edge, Brighouse

A hike we usually do when we're in northern MN but not this year and not right after sunrise...you know the beauty you see at this time of the day...fog still covering Lake Superior, fall colors still at their height.

Thank you for stopping by, flickr friends...appreciate your visit-

Enjoy the day!.....Pat...xo

So...we've had snow already, still have it on the ground...crazy, but it is to get warmer again...about 50F so....looking forward to that!

There is this cute spot on a busy highway just outside of town I want to stop off at. A bit of a tricky spot. This was a flyby shot.

Happy Sliders Sunday

A leafless tree is engulfed in frost and fog on a chilly morning in Autumn. The surrounding bushes still have the fall foliage.
