Now the Welsh COVID travel restrictions have been eased, I took advantage of last Tuesday's fine weather to explore two Mountain Lakes in the Snowdonia National Park, North West Wales - Llyn Idwal and nearby Llyn Ogwen.
Took this early morning shot, of Idwal Falls from below Llyn Idwal. The Devil's Kitchen (pictured far left) is a crag below Glyder Fawr 1,001m (3,284ft), out of shot, the highest peak in the Glyderau Mountain Range - using a tripod, Canon 24-70 Ultrasonic lens at 24mm with both polarising and neutral density filters. The peak (pictured centre) is Y Garn 947m (2,598 ft).

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Finally a good setup for severe weather and were were on time for the event. Shortly after 4pm CDT were in the Moderate Risk area for that afternoon. Arapahoe Nebraska was our destination. Traveled a few miles south to get the best open position before the storms. Pointing the cameras due southwest, this is were they were to develop and become severe.
Towers were already forming and were were under the first cells of the day. These would become the tornadic cells just north of Alma Nebraska that late afternoon.
It was time to pack up and get back ahead of the storm. As you can see we were already risking it taking over our position.
We had to pack up and move south via Hwy 283 South then Head due east of Hwy 89. This route takes us though Beaver City, Orleans, and eventually just north of Alma Nebraska. Where this storm intensified into a Nebraska Supercell!!

Seen at the Weston Park Historic Rally Festival 2021 this VW Beetle performing very well taking one of the sharp right hand bends. Amazing to see these old cars still performing. This car was first registered in 1973

Stockholm, Sweden finally got some warm weather in mid-May of 2021 after a very slow start so I hotfooted it to my fav spot in Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park in search of some food for the camera.
Almost immediately I came across this downy jumping spider (Attulus pubescens) which really gets 10 points in the cuteness department. Posed quite willingly and kept looking into the camera.
This particular shot is the exception with the looking into the camera part - but I kept it as it shows the markings on the abdomen.

Fun in the snow on the slopes of the Ooster Ringdijk on the border of Diemen. Blizzard Darcy is passing along the Netherlands. For the first time in some years serious Winter weather in the Netherlands.

Watergraafsmeer
The Watergraafsmeer is a polder in the Netherlands. It was reclaimed in 1629. In the 17th and 18th centuries, there were many buitenplaatsen in the Watergraafsmeer, though nowadays only one, Frankendael, remains.
Since 1921, the Watergraafsmeer is part of the city of Amsterdam and its rural character has all but disappeared. It is located in the borough of Amsterdam-Oost. The most important streets in the Watergraafsmeer are the Middenweg and the Kruislaan.

The Three Sisters in Canmore, the town’s most recognizable peaks and some of the most unique in Canadian Rockies. The Three Sisters are never getting old 😉. The names of the Three Sisters are individually known as Big Sister, Middle Sister, and Little Sister – or Faith, Hope, and Charity respectively.
Directions to get there: park at the off-leash dog park near Alpine Helicopters in Canmore, cross the highway 1A and go under the train tracks using the short tunnel. Follow the riverbed until it becomes a path, continue through the forest (be careful you are in bear territory so bring your spray and make some noise), walk about 5 minutes to the Spring Creek, it opens up and offers fantastic reflections of the Three Sisters. This place is a little gem.
PS: I went there twice, first time to check the location around sunset time, second time for sunrise, it was very dark in the early morning to walk there before sunrise… Head lights and bells helped. I will post the “secret” photographing locations and tips for my over two weeks trip at Rocky Mountains, it will save others’ time to hunt it, stay tuned... 😉

For the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (held in summer 2021) the "Allianz Arena" in Munich Föttmaning was renamed due to UEFA rules - the Sponsor name is removed.
Taken short before the match Germany-France - and had to hurry home to see it on TV. Germany lost 0-1 due to an own goal 😢.

Rehearsals for the Ann Arbor Dance Classics 2021 Recital on Thursday June 17th, 2021. Performances were held on Friday June 18th and Saturday June 19th at Saline High School (Saline, Michigan). The students and teachers all wore face masks as a precaution against COVID-19.

Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years' War. Of quadrangular plan, Bodiam Castle has no keep, having its various chambers built around the outer defensive walls and inner courts. Its corners and entrance are marked by towers, and topped by crenellations. Its structure, details and situation in an artificial watery landscape indicate that display was an important aspect of the castle's design as well as defence. It was the home of the Dalyngrigge family and the centre of the manor of Bodiam. Possession of Bodiam Castle passed through several generations of Dalyngrigges, until their line became extinct, when the castle passed by marriage to the Lewknor family. During the Wars of the Roses, Sir Thomas Lewknor supported the House of Lancaster, and when Richard III of the House of York became king in 1483, a force was despatched to besiege Bodiam Castle. It is unrecorded whether the siege went ahead, but it is thought that Bodiam was surrendered without much resistance. The castle was confiscated, but returned to the Lewknors when Henry VII of the House of Lancaster became king in 1485. Descendants of the Lewknors owned the castle until at least the 16th century.
By the start of the English Civil War in 1641, Bodiam Castle was in the possession of John Tufton. He supported the Royalist cause, and sold the castle to help pay fines levied against him by Parliament. The castle was subsequently dismantled, and was left as a picturesque ruin until its purchase by John Fuller in 1829. Under his auspices, the castle was partially restored before being sold to George Cubitt, 1st Baron Ashcombe, and later to Lord Curzon, both of whom undertook further restoration work. The castle is protected as a Grade I listed building and Scheduled Monument. It has been owned by The National Trust since 1925, donated by Lord Curzon on his death, and is open to the public. Edward Dalyngrigge was a younger son and thus deprived of his father's estates through the practice of primogeniture, hence he had to make his own fortunes. By 1378, he owned the manor of Bodiam by marrying into a land-owning family. From 1379 to 1388, Dalyngrigge was a Knight of the Shire for Sussex and one of the most influential people in the county. By the time he applied to the king for a license to crenellate (build a castle), the Hundred Years' War had been fought between England and France for nearly 50 years. Edward III of England (reigned 1327–1377) pressed his claim for the French throne and secured the territories of Aquitaine and Calais. Dalyngrigge was one of many Englishmen who travelled to France to seek their fortune as members of Free Companies – groups of mercenaries who fought for the highest bidder. He left for France in 1367 and journeyed with Lionel, Duke of Clarence and son of Edward III. After fighting under the Earl of Arundel, Dalyngrigge joined the company of Sir Robert Knolles, a notorious commander who was reputed to have made 100,000 gold crowns as a mercenary from pillage and plunder. It was as a member of the Free Companies that Dalyngrigge raised the money to build Bodiam Castle; he returned to England in 1377.
The Treaty of Bruges (1375) ensured peace for two years, but after it expired, fighting resumed between England and France. In 1377 Edward III was succeeded by Richard II. During the war, England and France struggled for control of the English Channel, with raids on both coasts. With the renewed hostilities, Parliament voted that money should be spent on defending and fortifying England's south coast, and defences were erected in Kent in anticipation of a French invasion. There was internal unrest as well as external threats, and Dalyngrigge was involved in suppressing the Peasants' Revolt of 1381. The manor of Bodiam was granted a charter in 1383 permitting a weekly market and an annual fair to be held. In 1385, a fleet of 1,200 ships – variously cogs, barges, and galleys – gathered across the English Channel at Sluys, Flanders; the population of southern England was in a state of panic. Later in the year, Edward Dalyngrigge was granted a licence to fortify his manor house.

Place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-Novembre is a square in the 16ème arrondissement of Paris in the quartier Chaillot.
It is located at the crossroads of avenue du Président-Wilson, avenue Kléber, avenue Raymond-Poincaré, avenue d'Eylau, avenue Georges-Mandel and avenue Paul-Doumer.
It opens onto the Human Rights Square and the Chaillot Palace.
Located on the heights of Chaillot, its diameter is 164 meters; it is planted with trees and adorned in its center with an equestrian statue of Marshal Foch and a monument to the glory of the French army, the work of Paul Landowski. To the south-east of the square are the Palais de Chaillot and its square overlooking the Seine and offering a view of the Eiffel Tower.
The corner of Georges-Mandel and Paul-Doumer avenues, to the south-west of the square, is occupied by the Passy cemetery, overlooking the square.
The square is one of the first tourist spots in the capital, thanks in particular to its view of the Eiffel Tower from the neighboring esplanade. With various newsstands, the square has mainly cafes and brasseries, east to west: Café du Trocadéro, Le Malakoff, Pâtisserie Carette, Café Kléber and Le Coq. On New Year's Eve, the square is a gathering place for Parisians and tourists.
The square is served by lines (M) (6) (9) to the Trocadéro metro station.
