This was a very pleasant surprise on my walk today, I got a tip off about twenty minutes earlier and got to the Wightlink terminal just in time!
Reid Freight Mercedes Actros Titan SF10DYC gives a lift to coach 234 which is one half of 484004, the second of five two car Class 484 units to be delivered to Island Line to replace the retired Class 483s. This coach was previously car 7111 and was part of a type D78 unit operating for London Underground on the District Line. They entered service in 1978-1980 and were retired in 2017. Originally built by Metro Cammell at Washwood Heath in Birmingham and were bought by Vivarail for conversion to Class 484s which involved a complete refurbishment both internally, electrically and mechanically. 484001 was delivered in December and the remaining three units are undergoing testing between Eastleigh and Fareham. They are expected to enter service in late Summer of this year. The other vehicle in this set was immediately behind and they headed over to Fishbourne on board the MV St Clare sailings at 1340 and 1540 as it appears St Clare is the only one of the three Wightlink vessels in which these trains fit.
DB ICE 4684 passeert Hoch-Elten als trein 125 van Amsterdam Centraal naar Frankfurt (M) Hbf. In verband met werkzaamheden tussen Utrecht en Arnhem werd de trein omgeleid over de Betuwelijn tussen Meteren en Elst. Het geplande vertrek uit Amsterdam was hierdoor een halfuur eerder (v. 12:08). Op de achtergrond de Rheinbrücke van Emmerich. Zaterdag 20 november 2021 om 14:40.

Arriva Rood in Noord-Nederland is bijna uitgestorven. In 2021 werd nog maar een aantal keer deze treinstellen gefotografeerd zolang ze nog rood zijn. Op 14 juli is treinstel 307 enkele minuten geleden vertrokken uit Groningen en rijdt hier langs de langs de Peizerweg als RS1 naar Leeuwarden

Shooter's Hill è un quartiere nel sud est di Londra. Con un'altezza di 132 metri, è il punto più alto del distretto di Greenwich e uno dei punti più alti di Londra (e con la vista migliore!). Ci sono molte associazioni letterarie con questo posto. Il racconto di “le due città” di Charles Dickens si apre con Jarvis Lorry, passeggero della carrozza della posta di Dover, che "attraversa Shooter's Hill". Il nome Shooter's Hill è menzionato anche in Dracula di Bram Stoker e in "La guerra dei mondi" di H.G. Wells. Nel romanzo grafico V for Vendetta, il personaggio Evey Hammond descrive la sua infanzia trascorsa in Shooter's Hill.
Shooter's Hill is a district in South East London . With a height of 132 metres, it is the highest point in the Borough of Greenwich and one of the highest points in London (and with the best view!). There are many literary associations with this place. As the narrative of Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities opens, Mr. Jarvis Lorry is a passenger in the Dover mail coach, "lumbering up Shooter's Hill". The name Shooter's Hill is also mentioned in Bram Stoker's Dracula and also in H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. In the graphic novel V for Vendetta , the character Evey Hammond describes her childhood, spent on Shooter's Hill.

Al jaren bereiken mij de berichten dat de Franse diesellocs klasse BB 67000 hun laatste ritten zouden rijden op Belgische bodem. De Franse vervoerder gebruikt de machines naar behoefte voor het vervoeren van ballasttreinen tussen de steengroeve in het Belgische Quenast en de in Frankrijk gelegen plaats Somain. De verdere modernisering van het Belgische treinbeïnvloedingssysteem gaat er echter voor zorgen dat de inzet van dit uit de jaren 60 daterende loctype niet langer mogelijk is. Echter zelfs anno 2021 duiken de ballasttreinen toch weer op en zal men tot begin juni waarschijnlijk actief zijn op weekdagen. Alle reden toch eens voor elkaar te krijgen dat ik er werk van kon maken!
Met een tweetal vrienden werd in alle vroegte vertrokken om het fileleed voor te blijven en daarin wisten we met slechts een 15 minuutjes extra reistijd heel aardig in te slagen. Daarmee waren we immers nog ruim op tijd om de hopelijk ook op tijd rijdende trein te treffen. Precies op het moment dat ik de Fransozen verwachte kleurde het sein veilig en was het slechts een kwestie van minuten voor de 67579 en 67494 in de verte in beeld verschijnen als aanvoerder van lege ballasttrein 49883 op diens weg naar Quenast.Aangezien de machines in Clabecq dienen te worden omgelopen om spoorlijn 115 even ten zuiden van Tubize op te rijden kon alle tijd genomen worden onszelf naar de tweede locatie te verplaatsen. Daarom werd na de passage nog even gewacht op de doorkomst van een HLE18 met lange reizigerstrein die kennelijk ook tot de dagelijkse standaard behoort.
De BB 67000 is een typerend Franse loc die door Brissonneau and Lotz gebouwd werden naar een ontwerp van Paul Arzens, de man die tevens het ontwerp van de allom bekende nez casse locomotieven op zijn naam mocht zetten en verantwoordelijk is voor ruim 25 jaar lang designen van SNCF locomotieven. Behalve een bijzonder markant design beschikt de BB 67000 over een 16 cilinder dieselmotor die goed is voor een vermogen van 1,470 kW en een maximaal koppel van 304 kN wat min of meer vergelijkbaar is met de MaK DE 6400. Qua design en karakter is de Fransoos echter ruimschoots de winnaar!
Der April 2021 brachte in den letzten Tagen in Deutschland ungewöhnlich kaltes und sehr ungemütliches Wetter. Teilweise fiel auch nochmal etwas Schnee. Am 06.04.2021 gab es aber auch mal ein paar sonnige Abschnitte. In einem derartigen Moment konnte 628 591 auf seinem Weg von Mühldorf nach Salzburg am Einfahrsignal Tittmoning-Wiesmühl fotografiert werden.

Souvenir d'une randonnée éprouvante en fin de journée du 13 août 2021 sur 14 km de distance et plus de 1400 m de D+ dans les jambes, une fois arrivé sur les lieux de nuit , exténué physiquement j'arriverai à surpasser la fatigue en admirant un superbe spectacle stellaire avec comme sujet principal le Mt Cervin jusqu'à 2h du mat le 14 août avant de m'effondrer dans le duvet .

Fetcham Park House and I always imagined this splendid building as being quite symmetrical - how wrong was I ?? If you look in the first comment box you can see a SOOC image of the building and then you look , one can see just how out of sinc. each side is with the other !!
So for the challenge I have had to do a few alterations to the building ( windows particularly ) so as to present a symmetrical picture - I had to call in the help of the Serif
( Serif CraftArtist programme that is ) . The B&W pic in the comment box is not a conversion , it is as taken in mono setting in camera .

I had to stand face on in the centre of the building from outside standing in a flower bed to get the shot , the offset double gates being locked up and someone visible in the grounds . Had to be quick so just took a half dozen shots some colour and some in monochrome.
It is not on high ground , but it will do for a listen to Neil Young --------------

With Runyon at his favorite place on earth - Swift Run Dog Park (near the intersection of Platt and Ellsworth and across the street from Lillie Park). Went to Swift Run early in the morning on Sunday December 5th, 2021. The half of the dog park where the dogs play is kinda a muddy mess. They did not mind. Their parents - that was a different story.

A front yard candid December 30, 2021. Wildlife alert; grabbed the camera with long lens; spotter became assistant with a prompt to the rabbit to move from behind the bushes; action! Surely wish I could have caught the rabbit making a break for safer ground. Its little white tail went by in a streak. Morgan County, Alabama.
