Another product of our recent week in North Caroline, this exposure was made a few minutes after sunrise. Toward the end of the blue hour, with golden tones as well. Oddly, this one is best viewed very small, to see the graphic lines beyond the colors.
Siena y su torre del Mangia
en pleno centro de la Región Toscana, cercana a Florencia. Es una de las ciudades más bellas de Italia, ricas de historia, arte y belleza arquitectónica, con sus callejuelas medievales, sus palacios e iglesias, todo eso envuelto en un paisaje rural único.
La Torre del Mangia fue construida entre el 1325 y el 1348. Se dice que en los cuatro ángulos de la Torre fueron enterradas monedas con inscripciones latinas y judías para la buena suerte. La Torre del Mangia, toma su nombre por la pasión de su primer guardián, encargado de sonar la campana. De hecho en italiano “mangia” quiere decir “comer”, así que la Torre del Mangia, quiere decir la Torre del que come, esto porque su primer guardián Giovanni di Duccio, se gastaba todo su dinero comiendo en las hosterías de la zona.
Siena and its tower of the Mangia
in the heart of the Tuscany Region, close to Florence. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, rich in history, art and architectural beauty, with its medieval streets, its palaces and churches, all wrapped in a unique rural landscape.
The Torre del Mangia was built between 1325 and 1348. It is said that coins with Latin and Jewish inscriptions were buried in the four corners of the Tower for good luck. The Torre del Mangia, takes its name from the passion of its first guardian, in charge of ringing the bell. In fact, in Italian “mangia” means “to eat”, so the Torre del Mangia means the Tower of the one who eats, this because its first guardian, Giovanni di Duccio, spent all his money eating in the inns of the area.
