Often heard, but seldom seen, I was finally granted an audience with an elusive King Rail this morning. This morning, we heard a pair calling back and forth and in time, this one emerged from thick vegetation to continue foraging.

Today's OARCB (old ass rivet counter boomer) mundane wedgie for National RCP&E Week, the West Train at mp 604 at Wastsa, SD along the Cheyenne River on October 7th.
This small vessel washed up on my local beach after a storm and sat there for about a year. I thought it would make an ideal subject for some long exposure work but, due to its size, it bobbed around too much, so I had to wait until I got some real calm conditions that didn't rock the boat so much.
