Alle Jahre wieder kommt der Fahrplanwechsel, so auch 2021. Zum kleinen Fahrplanwechsel im Juni 2021 sagte TRI "Tschüs" zum Abellio Ersatzverkehr auf der KBS 760/780.
Neben den uninteressanten MRCE 182, kam auch wenige Monate lang eine 145 an einen Umlauf des RE10. Anfangs die 145 088, später die 145 087. Gegen Ende April wurde diese sehr fotogene Lok doch leider durch einen schwarzen MRCE Taurus ausgetauscht und somit war nur noch der HVZ Zug von der Schwabenmetropole in die Universitätsstadt interessant.
Neben 110 428, waren auch 112 268 und 113 309 auf dem HVZ Zug zwischen Tübingen und Stuttgart im Einsatz. Wie bereits bei meinem Bild des Karlsruher Steuerwagens (www.flickr.com/photos/169419367@N08/51224950651/in/datepo...) erwähnt, war Besagter erst gegen Ende im HVZ Zugpaar anzutreffen und durch die Drehfahrt über Korntal und Kornwestheim Rbf die 110 auf Stuttgarter Seite.
Da dadurch nur noch morgens Motive mit führender 110 möglich waren, verlor der beliebte Einzelgänger leider gegen Ende ein bissle den Reitz.
Aber zum Glück gab es den Freitag Abend verkehrenden Leerzug von Tübingen nach Stuttgart!
So war es auch möglich Abends die ziehende 110 aufzunehmen.
Am 11.06.21, dem letzten Freitag vorm Fahrplanwechsel, platzierten wir uns auf der nördlichen Straßenbrücke von Metzingen, um letztmalig besagten begehrten Zug aufzunehmen. Die südliche Bahnhofseinfahrt sieht übrigens so aus: www.flickr.com/photos/169419367@N08/49708490637/in/album-....
Die in Blumentöpfen an der Brücke angebrachten Blumen, machten sich mit ihren lila und rot-weißen Blüten ganz gut, sodass ich diese unbedingt in das Bild integrieren wollte.
Der Ausleger ist leider etwas ungünstig platziert, leider ist diese Stelle anders kaum umzusetzen.
Circa 26 Kilometer weiter in Richtung Stuttgart stand Jost mit seinem Hochstativ, um an der Einfahrt Plochingen letztmalig diese Prachtlok aufzunehmen. Ihm ist dabei eine gewagte, aber auch kreative Version des abendlichen Leerzuges gelungen! www.flickr.com/photos/137385601@N08/51241834253/in/feed-1...

Great Blue Heron
The Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) is a large wading bird in the heron family Ardeidae, common near the shores of open water and in wetlands over most of North America and Central America as well as the Caribbean and the Galápagos Islands. It is a rare vagrant to Europe, with records from Spain, the Azores, England and the Netherlands. An all-white population found only in the Caribbean and southern Florida was once treated as a separate species and known as the Great White Heron.

The recent dominance of ageing 3000hp locomotives running One Rail Australia's grain services on the South line continues as late running empty service 1281S to Tailem Bend squeals through Belair on the mainline behind ALF23/ALF24/CLP8/FQ01 on Thursday the 26th of August 2021.

The recent re-introduction of CLP8 to traffic has presented enthusiasts with a nice array of older stock to sink their teeth into.
Empty Tailem Bend grain 1281S breaks through Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills. G533/ALF18/CLF5/CLP8/GWA002 are in charge on the 5th of April 2021.
Plenty of Wisconsin & Southern Red & Gray made for a great early morning scene on this first day of June 2021.
This is WSOR train T4H, only 17 cars due to the just concluded Memorial Day weekend, caught here running on the Canadian National not far from Slinger (the trackage in the foreground is the WSORs Milwaukee sub).
Matching sets of SD40-2s like this had been the norm on this train for many years – But the winds of change are quickly sweeping in on the WSORs motive power roster, and very soon what we have in this image will not be nearly as common as it used to be. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

Hanukkah, in Hebrew: חֲנֻכָּה, usually spelled חנוכה, the Festival of Lights or Feast of Dedication, is a Jewish holiday, commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple (the Second Temple) in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire, in 165 BC.
Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.
When the Second Temple in Jerusalem was looted and services stopped, Judaism was outlawed. In 167 BC Antiochus ordered an altar to Zeus erected in the Temple. He banned brit milah (circumcision) and ordered pigs to be sacrificed at the altar of the temple .
Antiochus's actions provoked a large-scale revolt. Mattityahu, a Jewish priest, and his five sons Jochanan, Simeon, Eleazar,Jonathan, and Judah led a rebellion against Antiochus. Judah became known as Yehuda HaMakabi ("Judah the Hammer").
By 166 BC Mattathias had died, and Judah took his place as leader. By 165 BC the Jewish revolt against the Seleucid monarchy was successful. The Temple was liberated and rededicated. The festival of Hanukkah was instituted to celebrate this event.
Judah ordered the Temple to be cleansed, a new altar to be built in place of the polluted one and new holy vessels to be made. According to the Talmud, unadulterated and undefiled pure olive oil, with the seal of the kohen gadol (high priest), was needed for the menorah in the Temple, which was required to burn throughout the night every night.
The story goes that one flask was found with only enough oil to burn for one day, yet it burned for eight days, the time needed to prepare a fresh supply of kosher oil for the menorah. An eight-day festival was declared by the Jewish sages to commemorate this miracle.
Nowadays, the Festival is observed by the kindling of the lights of a unique candelabrum, the nine-branched menorah called hanukkiah, one additional light on each night of the holiday, progressing to eight on the final night. The typical menorah consists of eight branches with an additional visually distinct branch. The extra light, with which the others are lit, is called "shamash" (Hebrew: שמש, "attendant") and is given a distinct location, usually above or below the rest.

Op donderdag 15 april werd een eerste graantrein gereden door RTB Cargo, de trein die afkomstig was uit Szolnok (H) werd afgeleverd bij Eurosilo op Rodenhuizedok in Gent. Door het hoge gewicht werd de trein omgeleid via Nederland (zo is er geen opdrukloc nodig in Aachen-West), de lege retour trein werd op 16 april dan gewoon gereden via de Montzenroute en passeert hier op het viaduct van Sint-Martens-Voeren. Het werd weer een gevecht tussen wolken en zon...

Grizzly Bear
The Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis), also known as the North American brown bear or simply Grizzly, is a population or subspecies of the Brown Bear inhabiting North America.
Grizzlies, like black bears, come in a variety of colors. They can range from blond to nearly black. Sometimes they have silver-tipped guard hairs that give them a "grizzled" appearance. Grizzlies often have a dished-in face and a large hump of heavy muscle above the shoulders. Their claws are around four inches long. Grizzlies usually weigh around 300-600 pounds but can grow up to 1,400 pounds. Adult Grizzlies can be six feet or more when standing on hind legs, and three to four feet when standing on all fours. Based on a multi-year DNA study, it's estimated that there are roughly 750 grizzly bears living within the Greater Yellowstone Area.

Seljalandsfoss, Rangárþing, Island, 2021
Etwa auf halber Strecke zwischen Selfoss und Vik liegt, etwas abseits der Ringstraße ein Tafelberg mit mehreren Wasserfällen. Am Südende liegt der Seljalandsfoss; er stellt wohl eines der bekanntesten Motive Islands dar.
Hier stürzt das Gletscherwasser des Eyjafjallajökull 66 m in die Tiefe. Das Becken am Fuß des Wasserfalls kann umrundet werden, allerdings sollte man dabei wasserfeste Kleidung tragen.
Der Ort ist eine der Hauptattraktionen an der RIndstraße und daher stets gut besucht. Für touristenbefreite Fotos braucht es etwas Geduld.

About halfway between Selfoss and Vik, somewhat off the ring road, lies a table mountain with several waterfalls. At the southern end is the Seljalandsfoss; it is probably one of the most famous motifs in Iceland.
Here the glacial water of the Eyjafjallajökull falls 66 meters into the depth. The basin at the foot of the waterfall can be walked around, but you should wear waterproof clothes.
The place is one of the main attractions on the RInd road and therefore always well visited. For tourist-free photos you need some patience.

Coastal bluffs, morning fog and mist along the Big Sur coast.
Photographing along the Big Sur Coast in the early morning presents some challenges and some special opportunities. The challenge is straightforward — in almost all locations there are mountains to your east that block the morning light. This means that you won’t see the earliest eastern sunrise sky at all, and that the landscape is frequently all or partly in shadow. But one of the opportunities comes from the same source — light arriving along the coast just as the sun clears these obstructions often passes through narrow clefts and valleys, and when the air is full of fog and mist this can create a plethora of light beams.
Those beams are what I saw in this scene. The process of finding the composition here is one that I use a lot. I stopped at a familiar location that presents a very large and panoramic landscape featuring a famous icon. My first instinct was to photograph anything but that icon, so I framed a composition that took in a section of coast and surf running away from me to the south. After I made a few exposures of that subject, each of which tried to capture a different state of the surf, I became interested in the bluff at the far end of the scene. So I went with a very long focal length and honed in on this small part of the larger landscape, focusing on the beautiful shaft of light between the bluffs that lit up the fog and spray and highlighted sections of the surf.

Beacon Rail blue liveried 60026 'Helvellyn' was been out of the operational pool for just over a year following fire damage sustained on this very circuit. After repairs by DB Cargo at Toton, it re entered traffic at the beginning of November 2021 back on the Liverpool to Drax biomass circuit and is seen here after passing through Lostock Gralam just after a large bank of cloud had luckily passed.

Op 13 maart werden enkele rijtuigen die te zien waren in het spoorwegmuseum getransporteerd naar de Duitse eigenaren. De wagons waren te zien in de expositie: Tosti's, Truffels en Treinen. Vanuit Utrecht Malibaan tot aan Bad Bentheim verzorgde de 1768 de tractie. In Bad Bentheim werden de wagons uit de jaren 1961 en 1962 overgenomen door de 140-423 van het DB-Museum te Koblenz. Hoewel het wisselvallig weer was met hagelbuien en af en toe een klap onweer is het toch gelukt om wat fraaie plaatjes te maken.
Terwijl één van de Nederlanders zich vast had gereden, begon het te regenen. De auto stond eigenlijk in beeld, maar door een andere positie vind ik het best een mooie foto geworden. Terwijl het net weer een momentje droog was passeerde de 140-423 met het viertal rijtuigen.
