We're back....
Spent the last two weeks in Yellowstone and the Tetons and got home early this morning. My motto when it comes to being in the mountains is that anything can happen, anytime, anywhere, and this proved true the last morning we spent in YNP. We watched this sow grizzly and her yearling cubs on at least a half dozen occasions, most of the time at distances too far for a decent photograph. But on this particular morning, they were right across the river from us, so we stopped to watch and photograph them before heading on to the Tetons. As wonderful as it was to finally get to see the infamous grizzly 399 and her four yearling cubs in the Tetons, there was something even more special about watching these three, including several minutes of mom kicking back and letting the cubs nurse. Such an incredible encounter. Note - we photographed from a safe distance with every bit my 600mm could muster, and images are cropped. Sorting through several thousand images from our two week trip, so lots more to come over the next few weeks. Have a fantastic week!!!

I'm planning on getting a one specific photo for my 52 week challenge, this week. Hopefully I'm able to get out there and take the photo (at night). I really don't go out, besides work & shopping.. and I'm really predictable these days.. Like, I literally just work and sleep. *shrugs*
& Thursday night is my Aunt's service. If I don't get the photo before then.. I'm going to get it the night of. (which I'm kind of planning on).. which will make this photo - so much more important to me... For the subject "Lights in the Dark".
I have the perfect location idea for this shot... and with my Aunt passing, it's the perfect shot.

This photo was taken a few days ago.. the last snow we had. TODAY we had a bunch of snow while I was at work. It only lasted a few hours but it came down very quick.. I was worried about driving in it... (I live about 25 minutes from my job & Juan comes to pick me up). Anyway, by the time I left at 4pm.. all of that snow was already melting! *I was grateful.
I didn't get any photos of it, but oh well...
So I uploaded an old snow photo.
I wanted to update with a photo.. I added one earlier but not one people could comment on. So here's a photo with comments enabled.

Throwback to 2021. I arrived at 6am to be met by a crisp 2°c late Autumn chill. Not a breath of wind. I'd just bought my first full frame camera and was pretty pumped to get some shots. I set up a makeshift hide, inverting the center column of my tripod and laying on the ground with camo netting draped over top. I waited, and waited... My fingers were freezing up. I was cold, wet, and ready to admit defeat.. then this one arrived, fishing right in front of me for half an hour. 🐠 🎣 It was magic

On March 20th, a huge demonstration took place in Jerusalem by various groups who opposed to Netanyahu's serving as prime minister, as long as charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust were pending against him.
This photograph is part of an exhibition dedicated to the prolonged political protest that led to a change of government in Israel.

'Stylist Sindy' Salon Playset by Kid Kreations.
After the success with the Collectors Club Sindys in 2020, Kid Kreations decided to aim for the broader public and make Sindy hit the shelves in the toy stores. People went wild!
They produced six different dolls with fun playsets:
Riding Club Sindy, Ballerina, Pet Parlour, Fashion Blogger, Salon Stylist and Sweet Treats.
The major differences from the Collectors Club Sindys are the lack of real eyelashes. These are just painted on. Instead she got joints in her ankles which is great.
The outfits has a lower quality but still pretty good.

She is similar to 'Dream Date' Sindy (Aurora) from 2020 with her pink hair. I will take a comparison photo after I let her out of her box.
January 3, 2021 - today, I am remembering my late daughter, who died six years ago. Missed and loved as always, Fiona.
Just some needed colour after a very white drive yesterday! After editing the other four 'white' photos ready to post today, I happened to come across this old mosaic that I made years ago. Exactly what was needed - a bright splash of colour. I used to make a lot of mosaics over the years, but less so in more recent times.
It had been just a few hours short of two weeks since I had been out of the house for anything, and I desperately needed to get out somewhere. After a very unwelcome snowstorm just before Christmas, my car was still covered in snow and, with a very painful shoulder (rotator cuff) and extremely painful knee, I was hoping that all the snow might just melt, revealing my filthy vehicle. That didn't happen, and the heavy, packed snow and ice were almost impossible to remove and took forever. Thankfully, there is no snow in the forecast for the coming week, so far.
The previous day, I had called in at two locations in Fish Creek Park, but didn't go for a walk at either. The parking lot at the second place was overflowing with cars and people, some in groups with no masks and no social-distancing. Sitting in my car for a few minutes, more and more cars kept streaming in. For sure, it was a Saturday (oops, no, it was a Friday!), which didn't help. Yesterday, Sunday (no, it was Saturday!), there was no way I was going to give it another try, so instead, I drove SW of the city a little way. I was so happy to find a different way to get on to the highway, both going and coming back home, so now I am free to do some of my favourite drives much more easily.
It felt good to drive along some of my favourite roads, though I left the backroads for another day, to avoid the risk of getting stuck in the snow. Passing Brown-Lowery Provincial Park, I had never seen so many cars, not just in the jam-packed parking lot, but there were about 30 cars parked on the road, too.
It was so windy yesterday afternoon, even though it was not snowing, snow was being blown across some of the roads. You can imagine what happened most times when I opened the car window to take my photos - I met with a blast of icy snow coming into my car.
The first thing I did, before driving around, was to call in at Jane's Cafe in Priddis. Luckily, there was one last tub of Chili available and I was happy to find out that the Dutch Mustard soup was once again on the menu. During these difficult times, it is important to support local businesses and this is one of the ones that I am more than happy to help.
