The little girl with her guitar looked so adorable. I love the little face full of curiosity and also apprehension. We walked the same direction, so I took few photos of her, with her mum and dog.

A day before garbage pick-up many treasures are to be had. 'American Girl in Italy' by Ruth Orkin (1951) is street photography classic. Unlike many other photographs of the genre, the name of the girl is known. Ninalee Craig has befriended the photographer, as they stay in the same hotel in Florence. The guys are Antonio, Giuseppe, Giorgio and Vincenzo. I was thinking to get the print, but I am in the stage when I am trying to get rid of my possessions.

CONTAX TVSとしまむらと歩道
たまたま開店初日に通りかかったので寄ってみた。
長門市民は新しい物好きとかでこのご時世にもかかわらず、大変混雑していた。こっちは駐車場を越えて広域農道の方へ向かう道で車の通りはさほど多くはない。右手にコメリがある。しまむらの壁や道路、歩道や山々の微妙な色味がおもしろかったので紹介する。天気はさほど良くなく薄曇りだったか曇りだったか。

雨が激しかったのとカミサンの都合がつかなかったのでひさしぶりに自動車でポタリー&カフェ音へ行く。運良く店の駐車場が空いていて助かった。戻る途中、西の空上空の雲の中の太陽光がおもしろかったので、CONTAX TVS、SUPERIA PREMIUM 400で何枚か撮ったら1本撮り終えた。撮り終えたフィルムがまだ2本しかないから、現像に出すのはまだ先かな。自分ルールとして、撮り終えたフィルムが3本以上になったら現像に出すことにしている。
道路には今の時期小さな小さなアマガエルが山程いて、屋外駐車でカバーだけしている車のカバーの中にも入り込んでいる。たまに様子をみないとひからびたアマガエルにお目にかかることになりそう。アマガエル好きとしては嬉しい反面、絶対車で踏んでいるなと暗い気持ちにもなる。ほとんど死んでしまうんだろうけれど、自分から殺したくはないよなあ。今日も出かけにおそらく車のカバーに潜り込んでいただろうアマガエルが車のガラス窓に貼り付いていたのにやや大きな道路に出る直前で気づき、数匹地面の草むらにおろした。
The Trinity Bellwood is one of the most used parks in the city. You could even live there, until recent evictions. I do not know if the drumming circle and dancing is a regular event, as I seen it first time. There must have been at least dozen of drummers, probably more. Even some guys were dancing; my camera just does not see them.

The Lion of Saint Mark, symbol of the Serenissima, which can be seen now above the entrance, dates back to the 16th century, but it was built and never used, due to the brief Venetian domination. It is said to having been installed here in 1919 following restorations works.
The construction of the castle seems to date around 1100, when, for the first time, the title of Count of Gorizia appears, given to Henry IV of Spanheim on documents - which presumes the presence of a fortification: a small motte-and-bailey fort which was followed by a stone tower or keep, further expanded during the 13th century, with the addition of a mansion and a two-storey building. The first representation of the castle dates back to 1307, imprinted on the seal allowed to the city by Albert II.
During the reign of the Counts of Gorizia the castle was the seat of the county and gradually enlarged and strengthened as their power grew. At their peak the counts ruled large parts of north eastern Italy and parts of present Austria and Slovenia.
Wars, marriages and alliances eventually brought Gorizia into the sphere of influence of the Habsburg Empire, so when Leonardo, last Count of Gorizia, died in 1500 the fief was taken over by the Habsburg Emperor; Maximilian I.
The Habsburgs reinforced the castle's defenses but were not able to fend off the Venetian army. The Venetians, under the command of Bartolomeo d'Alviano, occupied the castle in 1508 and held it for a brief period in which they modernized the castle to the new methods of warfare. The Venetian coat of arms can still be seen above the main entrance gate.
In 1509 Gorizia Castle returned to the Habsburg Empire. During the 17th century the castle was used as a prison and barracks and almost totally lost its medieval appearance. In 1813 the castle passed to the French but was returned to Austria a year later.
In the course of World War I Gorizia Castle suffered its first major damages in over nine centuries when it was bombed. It was rebuilt in 1934-37 after its own 16th century design. In 1943 the castle was occupied by German troops and its north east garden was used for executions.
The castle now houses the Museum of the Middle Ages of Gorizia. The interiors are decorated with original furniture and furnishings, and reproductions of weapons and siege engines are shown. In the central courtyard it is still possible to see the remains of the old 11th-century tower.

CONTAX TVSと夕日が沈んだあとの小道
家の前のおそらく市道だ。
左手に広域農道がある。道の先は市道につながっていてすぐに広域農道または国道に出る。手前側は広域農道につながっている。田圃はかなり高さがあって水田になったのが割と最近なのだろうと思わせる。夜の散歩に出る直前に見た光景だったと思う。散歩は反対側に歩いた。地面に露出を合わせた結果、空はほぼ白い光になってしまっている。

暑さがぶり返してきたこともあって家でゴロゴロ。この後、散歩に出る予定。艦これのイベントが始まったが、これも全部が公開されていないこともあるけれど例イベントに比べてまったくやる気がしない。

PENTAX MZ-3と逆光の農道
何度か撮った農道だ。
逆光でいい雰囲気だったので撮ってみた。空に露出があったっぽいのと地面に露出があったっぽいの2枚と縦横などを撮ったが、やや地面が暗いがこれが一番好みに近いようだ。側溝の金属製の蓋が光っているのもいい感じだ。登っていくと長門深川廃寺跡がある。天平期かと思いこんでいたが白鳳期のものだった。

Bloggerで新規写真のアップロードができなくなった。 原因は正直よくわからない。写真をアップロードしようとしても、サーバに拒否されましたと表示されるだけだ。単純に表示はしていないけれどアップロードしたファイル数やデータ量が多すぎたという気もする。ただ、ブログがないとやはり不便なので、新たにg.o.a.t.でも開始しようかと思ったが、当分手探りのままなのでめんどくさいことおびただしい。とりあえず、アップロードはできないがコピー&ペーストはできるのでペーストして利用してみる。Bloggerはどんどん不便になっていく。一時的な不調などだといいのだけれど。
午後からスポーツ公園経由で散歩。日本では休日であるにもかかわらず、サッカーをしている人たちが皆無で残念。CONTAX G1を持ち歩いたが、何かを撮ったりはしなかった。

GA645Ziとカフェ&ポタリー音の店内
ほぼ手ブレなしで撮れたのはがっちりホールドして撮ったからだろう。
店長が動いたのが見えたのだけれど、もうシャッターを切り始めた後だった。まあ、逆にそれが雰囲気のある感じになったからまあいいかという感じ。シャッター速度1/10で切ったわけだが、ほぼ手ブレしていないのは僕にしては上できだろう。1/8までいつも切れるようになりたいものだ。手前にテーブル席が何席か、川床にもテーブル席が何席かある。川床には屋根はないので雨が降っていたり、暑かったり寒かったりすると外で飲食する人はほぼいなくなるけれど。まあ、僕は寒いぐらいだったら外でコーヒーを飲むことが多い。もちろん、エアコンはあるが冬場には石油ストーブも活躍する感じ。右手には萩焼の展示スペースがある。

朝から雨。車で書店に行ったが当然のように目当ての書籍はなし。発売日から数日遅れがデフォルトだからなあ。途中、小学生の下校時間にぶつかったが、結構激しく降ってきた雨の中傘を差していない子がほとんどで持っている傘をあげたくなった。もっとも、一人にあげても不審がられるご時世だろうしなあ。傘を持っている子のお母さんらしき人の車での迎えだけを見かけて、世界の不合理というか格差についてぼんやりと考えたりした。ほとんどの世界で子供を一人で登下校させられなくなったのは、ここ何十年かのことに過ぎない。日本でもいつまで可能なのだろう。
その後、カフェ360へ向かったが貸し切りだったので、ひさしぶりに仙崎のカフェストラグルへ行った。旧農協の建物を改築したカフェで蔦が外壁を伝っていて季節の変化を感じさせる。CONTAX G1、Planar 45mm、escura Negative Film Vintage 400で撮ったら24枚撮り終えた。フィルムカメラで撮っていると24枚はかなり少なく感じる。その後、MINOLTA TC-1、PORTRA 160で何枚か撮った。その後、農道脇のまれに警察が交通取締りをやっていることもある空き地に車を停めて、灰色の空とわずかな光の風景をMINOLTA TC-1で撮った。

CONTAX G1と雪の日の小道
この雪が降った日に撮っただけシリーズもそろそろ最終回だろう。
他にもたくさん紹介していない写真はあるのだけれど、同じではないけれど似た傾向の写真が多くなって僕自身が飽きてしまうと思う。この小道は、僕ら家族を除くと郵便配達夫と新聞配達員の方々ばバイクで、それと地元の人達が何人か通ることがあるくらいだ。公道ではなく我が家の私道だと思う。落ち葉が落ちたままになっていることも多いので、バイクの方々は大変なんじゃないかと推察する。それなりの坂道だ。高低差は結構あるが、歩くとかバイクとかだったらそれほど大変ではない。自転車の場合、いわゆるママチャリだとかなり大変だと思う。ここらあたりは坂道を登りきったほぼ平坦になっている部分でもある。

午後からカミサンと散歩を兼ねてカフェ&ポタリー音へ行く。地元の方々、観光客の方々、それなりの賑わいだった。川床でのんびり過ごす。国道を歩きコンビニエンスストア経由で帰宅。CONTAX G1を持ち歩いたが、特に何かを撮ったりはしなかった。

CONTAX TVSと日没中の夕べと海岸と水平線
深川湾の夕景色だ。
まだ日は沈みきってはいなかったがすでに雲の中に隠れていたと思う。右にちらっと見えている陸地が青海島の一部で、左にちらっと見えているのが黄波戸の先の今岬とかのあたりだろう。島かもしれない。夏、日中は暑いのでひさしぶりに夕方から夜にかけて散歩できた只の浜海岸から見ている。海風が心地よかったと記憶している。塩っけを強く感じたけれども。
●
昨晩は日本対NZ戦を見たりしたので散歩はしなかった。今日は午後から自転車でおやつが切れたので買いに行った。CONTAX TVSを持ち歩いたが何かを撮ったりはしなかった。1日TVでオリンピック中継を見たり、YouTubeを見たり読書したりしている。

I informed Flickr that adding photos to Explore months, or in this case over a year, after the Explore date makes no sense. I got Flickr to delete the photo from Explore. I then deleted the photo from Scout also. Scout-Dropped and then de selected option to Delete from Scout

Most of my photographs are captured in and around the city of Molde. Molde is the second largest city in the county of Møre og Romsdal, lies along the shores of the Romsdalsfjord in Western Norway.
The official, and also most common, nickname for Molde is The City of Roses or Rose City.

CONTAX TVSと田圃と農道と山
37枚目で下がちょっと切れた。
色味がいいので紹介する。夕方まで少し間があったと思うが、曇り空だったため、やや薄暗い雰囲気だったと思う。西側を見ている。右側に田圃があってずっと登り続ける。見えない方向にある深川川が左側に曲がり少し離れて流れている。稲も伸び始めた時期だ。耕作放棄地も4、5枚の田圃ごとに1箇所くらいはある感じだと思う。

夜中から激しい雨が降ったりやんだりを繰り替えてしている。出かける気にもならず家でゴロゴロしている。はなみるくさんがカメラの防湿庫の上で寝ていたのだけれど、あまりにもかわいい寝姿にMINOLTA TC-1、ColoPlus 200で10枚くらい撮ってしまった。明るくない屋内だが1/30秒で撮ることができたのでまあいいだろう。その後、トイレの窓から見えたビワの木のおもに葉っぱと風景を何枚か撮った。

I was out with Glen Bledsoe and Christopher Taylor on Saturday to do some panoramas at the Baskett Slough near Salem, Oregon. It was a bit hot, and I was a bit dry, but a good time was had by all.
Flickr seems to make some pictures darker. Very odd.

Film: Ilford PanF+ develpped in Ilford Perceptol.
I also used up a roll of Rollei RPX 25, which I thought had much better compositions on it, but there is apparently an occasional manufacturer's defect on that film which causes black spots that are most noticable in the sky. It's too bad. The nagatives are unusable.

PENTAX 67と光量不足のはなみるくさん
暗い屋内、戸棚の上のはなみるくさんだ。
PORTRA 800で絞り開放でもアンダーになってしまった。屋内はフラッシュを焚かないと難しいということだろう。猫にフラッシュは炊きたくないのでさらに一工夫する必要がある。書籍やウォーゲームを放り込んでいる部屋の高い戸棚の上のはなみるくさんだ。この部屋のどこかにCONTAX T2もあるはずだが、8年前の引っ越しの時に見かけて以来、行方不明のままだ。最初は僕が使っていた部屋だが、今は完全に物置状態だ。何枚か撮っているが、いずれもカメラは見ていない。ちょっと外れたところを見ているが、どこを見ているかはよくわからない。
●
今日はカミサンが郵便局に用事があったので雨がちだったこともあって散歩に出かける。途中で必要書類を忘れていることに気づいて引き返したりしたが、観月橋を渡り、深川川を上流方向へ歩き、スポーツ公園の中を通り、再び、深川川を上流方向に土手を歩き、セブンイレブンに寄って買い食いをしながら帰宅した。途中、暗い竹林などに囲まれた小道の木漏れ日をCONTAX TVS、PORTRA 400で撮ったりした。

Mammatus, also known as mammatocumulus, meaning "Mammary cloud" or "Breast cloud" is a meteorological term applied to a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud. The name "mammatus" is derived from the Latin mamma (udder or breast), due to the clouds' characteristic shape, as some believe there is a resemblance between the shape of these clouds and the breast of a woman. - Wow! Van 11 t/m 31 juli 2021 werd Tsjechië weer bezocht met ons gezin. De eerste week werd doorgebracht nabij het Reuzengebergte en de laatste twee weken zaten we in een mooi huisje in het dorpje Kněžnice. Tijdens de eerste week zaten we vlakbij het station van Martinice v Krkonoších. Dit staat al een tijdje op mijn bucket list, omdat aan beide kanten van het station nog armseinen en bijzondere rangeerseinen in de vorm van klapborden aanwezig zijn. In combinatie met traditioneel dieselmaterieel kan dit mooie platen opleveren.
Nu was mij bij de voorbereiding op de vakantie al duidelijk geworden dat een mooie plaat op dit station schieten nog niet eenvoudig is. Twee uren lang gebeurt er helemaal niets en dan plots in enkele minuten tijd komen er van drie kanten (Stará Paka, Jablonec nad Nisou en Kunčice nad Labem) treinen aanrijden. Als je pech hebt, komen de sneltrein uit de richting Stará Paka en de stoptrein uit Jablonec nad Nisou parallel het station binnenrijden en is een goede foto bijna onmogelijk. Verder staan er nogal wat hoge bomen aan de zuidkant van het station die bij de juiste zonnestand zelfs in de zomermaanden zorgen voor de nodige schaduwen op het spoor. Verder staat de zomer van 2021 garant voor de nodige wolkenstress.
Op donderdag 15 juli 2021 werd het fraaie Martinice v Krkonoších bezocht. Aangezien er weer aardig wat wolken aanwezig waren en er ook behoorlijk wat wolken aan kwamen drijven, leek een mooie foto nog niet echt tot de mogelijkheden te behoren. Daarnaast zag ik op de website van de Tsjechische spoorwegen dat de sneltrein, die normaal drie minuten eerder binnenkomt dan de stoptrein, een vertraging had. Laat die vertraging volgens de website dan ook nog eens precies drie minuten te zijn en een klein fotorampje leek zich te voltrekken. Ik bleef optimistisch en de machinist van de stoptrein uit Jablonec gelukkig ook. Deze kwam met een lekker gangetje Martinice v Krkonoších binnenrijden en hield zo de sneltrein mooi op afstand. De zon kwam ook nog even om de hoek kijken.
Nadat ik de trein uit Jablonec had gefotografeerd werd snel via het een "trapje" het talud opgerend en kon ook nog de sneltrein bij de armseinen op de foto worden gezet. Daarna kon ik rustig mijn volgende stek opzoeken. Ik wilde de sneltrein ook nog graag bij het zeer fraaie station op de foto zetten. Hier zien we de mooie combinatie van de Čd 843 015-9 en achterop de 810 312-9 met Sp 1807 Chlumec nad Cidlinou-Hostinné vertrekken van het station van Martinice v Krkonoších terwijl beide rechtse seinen op de achtergrond veilig aangeven voor de treinen richting Jablonec en Stará Paka.
One of the first images from a visit last week to the Valley of Rocks near Lynton. Taken approximately an hour before the sun set so more golden light, I particularly liked the sun catching the top of the trees (middle right hand side). Also this location was a little to the left of later images so there is more separation between Castle Rock and Rugged Jack.

I picked some marigolds from my garden a while back, intending to use them for a photo. They started to fade and I thought they still looked lovely. I left my photo today until it started getting a bit dull so I thought it might be the perfect day to use these and do a low light pic.

Rappahannock River Shad Run, heron fight, Fredericksburg, Virginia - 2021. The mature heron (bottom) had just swallowed a fish and decided to try to steal the shad from the immature heron (top), but the immature heron was able to escape with it's fish. The mature herons seemed to be picking on the immature heron and it was almost two hours before the immature heron finally got it's fish.

Taken looking towards Mumbles, Swansea on the first day of 2021. We were plunged into lockdown just before Christmas so my plans for getting out and about to take loads of photos over the Christmas holiday were well and truly scuppered! Apologies in advance for lots of archive uploads as we are not allowed to drive anywhere unless for essential shopping so Swansea beach will be featured quite a bit also - apologies!
