This guy looks pretty busy because he has ALL possible pieces of equipment. Normally fielded these units wont have this much gear obviously. Ive labeled what they all are.
I am definitely enjoying shooting macro with my D7100. The 51 pt af is really helping me get decent hand held results.
'District Zero' tells the story of Maamun Al-Wadi, a Syrian refugee who begins a new life in Jordan’s Zaatari camp fixing mobile phones. He is one of nearly 60 million refugees and displaced person worldwide.
People from all over the camp come to his shop and through each customer they see the contents of their memory cards: their past lives in Syria (happiness, daily routine and family life) as well as the war, destruction, fear and flight.
The documentary has been presented at film festivals since September 2015.

day sixteen of the January photo challenge: take a photo, tell a story.
With the snowfall recently, I thought I'd share a tale of my first winter living in the midwest (Omaha, Nebraska) in 2003. I'd lived in Vancouver all my life and the most snow I'd ever seen was in something like 1992, and I certainly wasn't prepared for the daily sub-zero temperatures and biting prairie winds — my winter gear didn't even include a real coat, just a hoodie under my regular leather jacket.
By Christmas, there was already two and a half feet of snow on the ground. The path shoveled from the sidewalk to the building was a trench that came up to my waist. Disused cars resembled sleeping beasts, curled under white blankets for weeks at a time. The roads were plowed regularly, but the parking lot of my apartment was essentially an ice rink. Taking out the trash and getting the mail became adventures. Most dangerous of all were the melting icicles on the awnings of the doorways, which grew to unfathomable lengths and left the front stairs coated in a layer of ice at least two inches thick.
One day, as my partner came home from school, I heard the door slam and he yelled, "I brought you a present!" Curiosity brought me out of my chair and over to the door, where he stood with his hands behind his back. "It's just what you've always wanted — a four foot icicle!" One had dropped from the building earlier that morning, but after taking a photograph and marvelling at its size and beauty, there wasn't much to do with it except let it melt in the bathtub.
This photo was taken at night using an 8-second exposure time, though the light feels to me like very early morning.

A one day trip to Sylhet was fruitful. Felt good to finally get out of Dhaka and Chittagong. The road to Jaflong is amazing I must say and the tea gardens are worth a visit. More pictures coming up! =]

The Zero was a key element of the Japanese naval aviation of World War II. Launched from aircraft carriers such as the Akagi, the Zero could fly far and outmaneuver anything in the US arsenal.
However, the Zero's lightweight construction made it vulnerable to damage from enemy fire, and eventually US naval pilots exploited that weakness.
This images is good example of my relaxed attitude and approach to this year's 365 project. I probably would have never posted a picture like this, unless I really had to it for a save, this is not save. I actually have a better and neater image for today, but this is more in line with the documentary approach I've taken this year.
My wife and I went to see the movie, which BTW is excellent and well worth seeing. I've read two books on UBL manhunt and the movie is pretty accurate.

The new Pibb Zero--a diet version of Pibb Xtra which is the new version of the old Mr. Pibb that everybody misses. A friend sent this one to me. It smells like "real deal Pibb", and when the stuff first hits your tastebuds it tastes like Pibb Xtra, but when it hits the back of your tounge, all bets off, its yucky.
I think this stuff can be found in Kansas and some other midwestern states.

The day began with a rally at the Pavillion followed by a march along the harbourside, down St Mary Street and ending on the esplanade.
