Wilbur got us close to a few of the formations in the Little Egypt area. I think he was trying to see if there was a way to climb up among them without damaging them. The sandstone was so soft he didn't want to risk it.
……Went for the Circus side of the theme in this weeks Smile on Saturday, the chair is a creation by the Daughter in Law from a few Christmases ago - made from a top off a bottle of Bubbly, balancing it was a challenge but not insurmountable! The Elephant came from Jill’s moms but needed a pair of Tusks - unlikely to be Ivory poachers, however a few minutes with a Crochet needle (also Jill’s moms) I fashioned a new pair for him! The Ball is a remnant from when our Grandson was little. And finally, the Big Top backdrop is the curtain we hang over the front door to keep the direct sun off it. Indeed it was natural sunlight here, ‘Click’ & hey presto - Smile On Saturday, well after some minor edits just in Lightroom only. Alan:-) HSoS……

St Giles' without Cripplegate, to give it its full name. There has been a church here for a thousand years. It was rebuilt in the 14th century and the tower added in the 17th century. However, after some historic fires and being bombed during WW2 in 1940 it had to be restored again. Work was completed in 1966. It now sits among the brutalist architecture of The Barbican, City of London.

Not without irony, I had to desaturate this photograph in development to have it look even remotely 'real.' On that day at that time the circumstances conspired to intensify the colours of the scene. The building was truly positively 'electric orange' and the reflection in the window enhanced the green of the grass in a mysterious way. To add to that it had just rained and the sun started poking through the clouds which served to further saturate the colours. If I remember correctly (and I often don't) I also polarized the scene in order to get the window to reflect the trees which also served to add to the intensity of the colours. American social media users woke up this morning to find that they no longer had access to TikTok after the much-anticipated ban was implemented.
Multiple U.S. agencies and public officials have stated that TikTok poses a national security risk to the United States because, at any time, the Chinese government could compel the company to hand over a huge trove of U.S. citizens’ data.
TikTok says it has “invested billions of dollars to keep U.S. data safe and our platform free from outside influence and manipulation.” While adding that the ban will “devastate seven million businesses and silence 170 million Americans.”

A Roman copy of a Greek original - the original was from the early 4th century B.C., while this piece is from early imperial times. She is wearing a chiton and her himation forms the billowing shape behind her. The attributes that confirms her identification is, apart from the raised cloak, the crescent moon on her head the torch in her hand (it might look like the sheath for a dagger, but it's not - but the flame itself is gone).
Selene was the Greek moon goddess (her Roman equivalent was Luna), the daughter of Hyperion and Theia, and the sister of Helios (the sun) and Eos (the dawn). In Classical times she was often identified with Artemis (and in Rome, Diana).
