Refugee camp outdoor exhibit in Grant Park. I didn't photograph the exhibit but I photographed the makeshift fence that surrounded it. It was covered by oversized banners made of photographs of refugees from around the world. I was completely moved to say the least.
This photoset is my attempt at recreating this fence.
"A Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City
Guided by MSF aid workers, visitors are asked to imagine that they are among the millions of people fleeing violence and persecution in, for example, Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, or Sudan.
The exhibit is made up of materials used by MSF in its emergency medical work around the world, including emergency refugee housing, a food distribution tent, water pump, health clinic, vaccination tent, therapeutic feeding center, and a cholera treatment center.
It addresses questions such as:
Will I be safe?
What will I eat?
How do I find water?
Can I get medical care?
Where will I live?"

Non c'è solo il medioevo per le rievocazioni, esiste anche il Seicento :) Poco dopo la poco pubblicizzata rievocazione medievale in occasione del compleanno della città (1017 anni) c'è stata una ancor meno pubblicizzata :( rievocazione, stavolta del Seicento :)

La torre es trobava sota el domini del castell de Culla, que comprenia una bona part del nord de la província de Castelló. Contenia els següents pobles o fortaleses: Culla, capital de districte; Atzeneta, Benafigos, Benassal, Boy, Corbo, Castellar, Molinell, Torre en Besora, Vilar de Canes, Vilafranca i Vistabella. El castell, amb les seves pertinences, va ser donat jure hereditari a l'Orde del Temple pel rei En Pere el Catòlic, estant a Lleida a 22 de maig de 1213. No hi ha rastre en la Crònica Reial per conjecturar el temps en què aquest es va lliurar al rei o va ser conquistat, encara que se suposa durant l'any 1234. Després de l'acord sobre el senyoriu de Morella, fet a Montalbán l'11 de maig de 1235, entre el seu conqueridor, Balasc d'Alagó i Jaume, aquest li dóna jure hereditari els importants castells i pertinences de Culla i Coves de Vinromà. A la mort de Don Blasco, que havia passat probablement a mans de mesnaderos reals, ja que es trobava en pugna amb el monarca, el castell de Culla passa a la seva filla Constança i als seus néts Artal i Blasco. Després passa a pertànyer als descendents de Don Blasco, i l'Orde del Temple el compra a Guillem d'Anglesola el 27 de març de 1303, per la suma de 500.000 sous. La Torre va pertànyer a l'Orde de Montesa, hereva de l'Orde del Temple des de 1319, i el 10 d'abril de l'any 1550 el Comendador de Culla, Frey Enrique de Bañuelos, l'estableix enfiteuticamente al seu germà Mossèn Onofre de Bañuelos, reservant en conseqüència el domini directe per a l'Ordre a canvi d'un cens anual de dues gallines per Nadal. Cabrevadas les masies i les seves torres en els anys 1587, 1599, 1607, 1620, 1655 i 1668, amb reconeixement i actualització de censos, Delmos i primícies, passa a formar part, el seu domini útil, a la família Vallès, mitjançant el matrimoni de Jaume Vallès amb Vicenta Pallarés, a la qual havia arribat dels ciutadans Nofre Miquel Pallarés i Pedro Onofre Pallarés, avi i pare respectius, d'acord amb les capitulacions matrimonials signades el 10 agost 1677 davant de Jaume Cases, notari de Castelló. Posteriorment, segons el testament atorgat pel notari de Castelló Francisco Pérez el 21 d'agost de 1752, els germans Flora i José Vallés, van vincular la finca al major de la família, passant d'aquesta manera el 1772 al seu nebot Faust Vallès i Vega. El 1 novembre 1866 Arturo Vallés i Més, nét de Faust, redimir per una quantitat de 250 rals de billó, el cens emfitèutic que gravava encara sobre l'explotació des de l'any 1550, rescatant així el domini directe i convertint-se, com a posseïdor de els dos dominis, en propietari de la mateixa. Don Arturo Vallès va ser nomenat per Reial Ordre de 6 de febrer de 1864, baró de la Pobla Tornesa i de la Serra d'en Galceran. Per decret del Govern Civil de Castelló de 23 gener 1877 és concedida al baró de la Pobla Tornesa la qualificació de Colònia Agrícola per la seva finca de la Torre Matella "gaudint amb això de tots els avantatges que conté la Llei de Colònies Agrícoles de 3 de juny de 1868 ", legislació aprovada durant el regnat d'Isabel II amb l'objectiu de crear incentius per a la inversió en el desenvolupament de les riqueses agrícoles i ramaderes del camp espanyol. El 1872, les masies de la finca van ser abandonades amb motiu de les guerres carlines, però a partir de 1876 es van construir noves masies, la nova residència del baró, un palau neogòtic i una església. Tanmateix l'antiga torre defensiva va ser respectada. La Torre Matella es troba localitzada a la partida del seu mateix nom, a una distància de 19 km de la població de Culla. La finca tenia una extensió de 439 hectàrees al segle XIX, dedicades tant al cultiu com a la ramaderia, on es trobaven dues masies, construccions que donaven aixopluc el 1916 a seixanta-vuit persones. La torre que dóna nom a la masia, respon a la tipologia habitual de torre defensiva de la zona: planta quadrada, construïda amb maçoneria i sillarejo, coberta inclinada i emmerletada. La seva planta superior sembla haver estat reutilitzada com colomar. La primitiva torre es troba en l'actualitat entre el conjunt d'edificis aixecats a finals del s. XIX, protegits per una tanca emmerletada, que constitueixen la residència del baró, en estil neogòtic. Entre aquells destaquen altres noves torres, aquestes ja desproveïdes de funció defensiva. La torre se encontraba bajo el dominio del castillo de Culla, que comprendía una buena parte del norte de la provincia de Castellón. Su planta superior parece haber sido reutilizada como palomar. La primitiva torre se encuentra en la actualidad entre el conjunto de edificios levantados a fines del s. XIX, protegidos por una cerca almenada, que constituyen la residencia del barón, en estilo neogótico. Entre aquellos destacan otras nuevas torres, éstas ya desprovistas de función defensiva. Bondi without the glitz and the posers, Coogee (locals pronounce the double o as in the word ‘took’) has a deep sweep of sand, historic ocean baths and plenty of green space for barbecues and frisbee hurling.

Well I suppose I couldn't drive to Mereworth without making another visit here could I?, and this was the best I could do without trespassing and this shot was taken from a Signposted Public Footpath on long zoom, (as I couldn't find anyone to ask), and these vehicles are now used by Hugh Lowes Farms to transport farm workers around Merewoth near Maidstone in Kent, and these are 4 of up to 15! vehicles that can see use here at Mereworth, and these are not the only ex Stagecoach Vehicles in Farms use in the Maidstone Area, and acording to Recently Updated Google Maps Satalite Imagery several others can be found around Five Wents, Langley, Langley Heath, Chart Sutton, Sutton Valence and Coxheath.

On the way to Limni from Athens.
The island of Evia lies along the Eastern coast of Central Greece, and is accessible to the mainland via two bridges, an old wooden bridge and a contemporary suspension bridge. There are also frequent ferries to several parts of the island. It is 175 km long and is the second largest island in Greece, and the third largest in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Taken on the weekend of February 14-15, 2015 while my English wife Theresa Jane Brown and I were visiting friends.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Gramado é um município do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, no Brasil. Localiza-se na Serra Gaúcha, mais precisamente na Região das Hortênsias, a uma latitude 29º 22' 44" sul e a uma longitude 50º 52' 26" oeste, estando a uma altitude de 830 metros. Sua população estimada em 2013 é de 34 110 habitantes. Possui uma área de 237,019 quilômetros quadrados. Seu principal acesso se dá através da RS-115, embora também seja atendida pelas rodovias RS-235 e RS-373.
