I feel totally alone without you,
I feel like there's no-one else there.
I feel like everything’s missing,
I feel like everything’s unfair.
I wish we could be together again,
I wish I could call you mine.
I wish we could make it work,
I wish I could turn back time.
I feel so numb inside,
I feel like there's no reason to be glad.
I feel like I'm turning desperate,
I feel like there's every reason to be sad.
I want it to all be perfect,
I want it to all be right.
I want everything, to be how they used to,
I want it to be happy and bright.
But now I can't feel anything at all.
Words by me!

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful triple waterfall settings in Switzerland. With the right light just before sunset, it takes on an almost otherworldly appearance. There are countless photographic opportunities here, and this time I focused mainly on capturing a short film.
The route can get a bit tricky if it rains, so I chose a clear day for the hike. That said, the dream scenario would include some low-hanging clouds to add mood and depth. The good news is the waterfall isn’t going anywhere, so I plan to return, ideally when wildflowers are in bloom and the atmosphere is just right. Ambitious, I know but since it’s a local spot for me, I have the luxury of being a bit picky and visiting multiple times.
After a solid 800 meter climb, we were rewarded with stunning views and fairly good conditions. It was well worth the effort and even the couple of hours we spent waiting paid off in the end.
The short film I made about this waterfall can be found below.

Ronnie was taking the boys out to sane a friends fishing pond and as usual I used the event to capture moments in time. While out at the pond we had a TEXAS Storm Building out to the EAST of us and the cloud formation was truly magnificant. So I captured this. I couldn't find a good place without this tree in the way, but the end result I truly enjoy.

Since then, I have been trying to find a way to glue things back together. I tried 10 different glues (most of which I bought just for this, so now I have an extensive glue collection) & while some of them glued the pieces together, as soon as I applied some pressure, they came apart. Luckily somebody pointed me to this video about using super glue & baking soda. As a last resort I tried it & it worked!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU2qph2vG9Y&feature=youtu.be
I've been pulling on the parts all morning & they haven't budged, so I'm going to put them back in the doll. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to use this method on other broken doll parts too, especially Momoko since I'm pretty sure they're made out of the same material & break all the time.
EDITED: Well, guess what? I pushed the leg into the doll...& it came apart. I'm so disappointed, I really thought it would work.

52 Still Lifes :2/52: Cannot live without
Prior to the arrival of the first railroad in 1880, Greenville was a quiet little settlement, without much commerce. Lack of transportation outlets constituted the primary inhibiting factor to growth and development. Without any navigable rivers or a railroad, ox-drawn wagons hauled building materials and trade goods from Jefferson, 120 miles to the east. Although rail lines surrounded the town in all four directions in the 1870's, each was about thirty miles distant. Only horse drawn stage lines connected Greenville to the rail outlets. All of this changed in the fall of 1880 when the Missouri, Kansas and Texas (MKT or Katy) Railroad extended its line to Greenville. Hunt County's first train pulled into Greenville on October 1, 1880. One of the witnesses to its arrival, six year old A.W. Defee, feared the fire-breathing "monster" would leave the tracks and run him down. He ran for the nearby woods where his older brother later found him and coaxed him to come back and look at the now quiet locomotive.
Construction began on the permanent 2-story brick depot in 1895, a Late Victorian eclectic passenger station just west of the central business district. It was completed in June of 1896 at a cost of $24,849 less contents. The buildings design plan was completed by Stephen W. Dodge, Architect of Brooklyn, N.Y. at a cost of $250. The St. Louis firm of Thompson & Gray served as contractor. The depot was built as a passenger station only; a separate building nearby housed the railroad's freight operations. The Katy Depot quickly became a city landmark and one of the busiest places in town. According the Greenville Herald Banner "Before the highways were built 12 passenger trains a day rolled into this...station, on the East line from Shreveport to McKinney, the Mineola branch and the Main line to Denison to the north and Dallas southward." Special excursion trains carried Greenville area residents to the Texas State Fair in Dallas each October. Standing room only crowds took advantage of the $1 round trip Sunday fare. Greenville historian W. Walworth Harrison had fond memories of riding the Fair Train "when every car and vestibule was jammed with people carrying Concord grapes purchased at the fair while small boys clutched gaily colored gas-filled balloons." Well-known politicians were greeted by their constituents at the Katy Depot, including Harry Truman, who stopped at the Greenville Station during his 1948 "whistle stop" campaign tour. He gave a short speech at the station after an introduction by House Speaker Sam Rayburn. Audie Murphy, World War II's most decorated soldier, went to war from the Katy Station, having enlisted at the Greenville Post Office (NRHP 1974), one block east of the depot.
Unfortunately, MKT passenger service to Greenville ended in 1965, after many years of declining passenger loads. Passenger trains had been replaced by the family car. When the last train left the Katy station on July 1, 1965 there was no fanfare to mark the end of an era. Witnesses included 94 year old A.W. Defee, who witnessed the arrival of the first Katy passenger train and the departure of the last one. When passenger service ended, the depot's neighbors included an auto dealership & service station, symbolic of the change automobiles now possessed in the area of transportation.
The depot's association with historical events & people and it's significance in the lives of Greenville residents during the 70 years it was in use make the Katy Depot worthy of recognition by the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Despite the removal of the original rotunda after a storm damaged the roof in 1950, the building retains a high degree of historic & architectural integrity as well. For these reasons, it was added to the list on January 25, 1997. All of the above information was found on the original documents submitted for listing consideration and can be viewed here:

Today, the old depot is home to The Depot Christian School formed in 2022 to disciple students to learn to connect in community while exploring their God-given passions.

I just come to end the reading of " Kafka on the shore " by Haruki Murakami. It's an explosion of sensations, feelings, soft or crude images... The music of the words, the beauty, the poetry or the surrealism of places and situations, the thickness and the immateriality of the characters... reading this book is a pure jubilation from the first to the last page. Don't hesitate : you will adore it.

English
The Temple of Debod (Spanish: Templo de Debod) is an ancient Egyptian temple which was rebuilt in Madrid, Spain.
The temple was built originally 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Aswan in southern Egypt very close to the first cataract of the Nile and to the great religious center dedicated to the goddess Isis, in Philae. In the early 2nd century BC, Adikhalamani (Tabriqo), the Kushite king of Meroë, started its construction by building a small single room chapel dedicated to the god Amun. It was built and decorated on a similar design to the later Meroitic chapel on which the Temple of Dakka is based. Later, during the reigns of Ptolemy VI, Ptolemy VIII and Ptolemy XII of the Ptolemaic dynasty, it was extended on all four sides to form a small temple, 12 by 15 metres (39 ft × 49 ft), which was dedicated to Isis of Philae. The Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius completed its decorations.
From the quay there is a long processional way leading to the stone-built enclosure wall, through three stone pylon gateways and finally to the temple itself. The pronaos, which had four columns with composite capitals collapsed in 1868, and is now lost. Behind it lay the original sanctuary of Amun, the offering table room and a later sanctuary with several side-rooms and stairs to the roof.
In 1960, due to the construction of the Great Dam of Aswan and the consequent threat posed to several monuments and archeological sites, UNESCO made an international call to save this rich historical legacy. As a sign of gratitude for the help provided by Spain in saving the temples of Abu Simbel, the Egyptian state donated the temple of Debod to Spain in 1968.
The temple was rebuilt in one of Madrid's parks, the Parque del Oeste, near the Royal Palace of Madrid, and opened to the public in 1972. The reassembled gateways appear to have been placed in a different order than when originally erected. Compared to a photo of the original site, the gateway topped by a serpent flanked sun appears not to have been the closest gateway to the temple proper. It constitutes one of the few works of ancient Egyptian architecture which can be seen outside Egypt and the only one of its kind in Spain.

I am a pretender hunkered down in a maelstrom behind a facade of technical gear. Outside: A shrieking chorale of wild bristlecones on a Serengeti of stone. A sonic and percussive primordial wind, the lion does not sleep.
The bristlecone voices are of epic confidence and endurance. Taunting chorus after chorus of millennial defiance; of standing their ground. Of having withstood the worst that any two or three or more millennia had to offer.
Boughs barely rippling; figurative fuzz on a tennis ball. Smaller trees soulful, shrill. Larger trees rumbling like raging water pouring over a precipice. Theirs is the most elemental of sounds; that of the flowing ethereal deformed by immutable matter.
There is nothing extraneous about the shape of an ancient bristlecone. Every pliant, probing, shapeshifting growth tip has been aerodynamically pruned and tuned through howling millennia to match the precise location and microclimate of each tree. Branches do not break off. Finding a branch lying on the ground after even the fiercest of storms would be akin to finding the wingtip of a Concorde.
Inside, swaddled in bird feathers, I watch an Oort cloud of sliding snowflakes accumulate on the embossed logo of the tent’s leeward panel. The skittering flakes build and shift, forming faces and figures and mountains that slide away only to form again and again. Nature speaks (if at all) in relentless metaphor.
Hours later: Ice crystal stars and a serene slumbering face immersed in cumulus above the logo peaks as the wind begins to fade with oncoming night...And I remember again why I pretend.

Refugee camp outdoor exhibit in Grant Park. I didn't photograph the exhibit but I photographed the makeshift fence that surrounded it. It was covered by oversized banners made of photographs of refugees from around the world. I was completely moved to say the least.

"A Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City
Guided by MSF aid workers, visitors are asked to imagine that they are among the millions of people fleeing violence and persecution in, for example, Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, or Sudan.
The exhibit is made up of materials used by MSF in its emergency medical work around the world, including emergency refugee housing, a food distribution tent, water pump, health clinic, vaccination tent, therapeutic feeding center, and a cholera treatment center.
It addresses questions such as:
Will I be safe?
What will I eat?
How do I find water?
Can I get medical care?
Where will I live?"
