Back in the day when buses in Manchester had proper local registrations even if they weren't orange, white and brown. This low height (provincial height) ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident was one of the first batches of low floor double deckers for Stagecoach outside London.
I'll pull out this photo as a reminder.
With the help of my dear hubby, I was able to take some Valentine photos of my two favourite subjects. Poor Acadia had a cold with a runny nose and goopy eyes (poor thing), but was a great sport. Chase was bribed with a few cookies, and he was great, too. I love these two, and cherish every moment I have with them.

I used to be a pirate
When I was just a kid
Then I changed my mind
And chose to be a squid
That wasn't very smart
For I didn't know how to swim
Nor could I hold my breath
So I chose to choose again
Next I chose a bird
Flew high above the skies
But it always seemed to be
The clouds would fill my eyes
So lastly what I chose
Was to be just little me
There is nothing more exciting
And nothing quite as free
The little buds look as if the leaf wings are ready for lift off.
The alternating flowers on the stems make for cascades of flowers when the bush in in full bloom

My Yuki was waiting for her boat to go to the other side of Victoria Harbour. The wind was blowing from the east, while the sun was falling in the west. A beautiful day, a beautiful sunset, a beautiful city, it is just like an old fairy tale.
A new photo of my of my Doll × Tilt-Shift photography using my Nikon D700, PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED lens and LEE 0.9 Neutral Density Standard filter. Two frames were combined together to get this wide picture.

「Not until I reach the Place of Happiness will my journey end.」 Image photo for Sakamoto Maaya's famous song 「cloud 9」, final ending theme for TV Anime 「Wolf's Rain」.
I hope you will enjoy the view and all these wonderful colours of sunset.

Playing with texture and tones.
i love seeing how the mood changes from using different colours and tones.
A race around the block was enough entertainment for me with no traffic, no cycle helmets and no smartphones, great simple fun. HMM.
Watercolor on !/4 sheet Arches watercolor paper. I started this painting FOREVER ago and just couldn't finish it. It's that I don't like alizarin crimson.
When I feel like going out for a drive I often go across to Hartford, which is on the east side of Huntingdon, and sit down to watch the birds and the occasional boat on the River Great Ouse. It's a very peaceful part of England, with substantial water meadows on the opposite bank while behind me is the 12th century All Saints Church.
When I went to Stratford apon Avon I had the biggest scone I've ever seen! So I had to take a picture :D xx
I put this in the group, then took it out when I thought maybe only round baubles were the theme, then saw other non-round ornaments being accepted, so I've put it back in. Well, it is the purpose of cable cars to go back and forth, after all!
Looking close...on Friday: Christmas baubles. This souvenir of San Francisco is about 3 inches/7.5 cm across.
Happy holidays, Flickr friends!
when they are not congregating at the pier the brighton starlings like to hang out on the framework the gas tower.
when the heart is heavy & full of doubts its always uplifting to be thankful...

When I visited St Kilda in 2021 Great Skuas were a common sight but in 2022 I did not see a single Great Skua on the islands, although we did see small numbers at sea. They were hit hard by bird flu and according to this BBC piece www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-61867211 a hundred and twenty Great Skuas had been found dead on St Kilda with bird flu by late June 2022. This is in addition to 60 bird flu deaths last breeding season. Scotland supports about 56% of the global population of this species classed as vulnerable by IUCN but I suspect bird flu may upgrade the conservation status of this species. The Scottish population was 9650 breeding pairs in 2002, largely on the Hebrides and Northern Isles, but I don't know what the impact of bird flu has been elsewhere in Scotland on this species. I suspect the next census will show a considerably depleted population I photographed this wing-flashing adult on St Kilda in 2021.
When I went or a nature walk at Kohler-Andrae State park (Wisconsin) Monday afternoon, I decided to shoot in b&w mode. (For years I have admired Florida photographer Clyde Butcher's b& w nature photography.) This shot was taken along the edge of the marsh. I liked the way b&w brought out the shape and textures here.
