When I first moved here, there were Phoebes that nested in the eaves of a small shed. This little one flew to the nearest perch he could find upon leaving the security of the nest - nearby chairs on the deck.
With my long lens, I was able to keep this moment undisturbed by my presence.

If you decide to travel along this highway into the bowels of the Universe, carry enough fuel to cover the billions of light years ahead of you. You won't find a place to refuel. When you have travelled this distance without finding anything, not even a little bit of intelligent life and you reach the far reaches of the Universe... don't be scared... there's nothing there, either. Only the "nothing". Or since everything is cyclical, perhaps you have returned to the place where you started, full of wisdom from your long trip. It's probably better to look for intelligent life on Earth, but it's also very likely that you'll have a hard time finding it. Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Parts VI–IX
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." The image used for the cover of the single alluded to what is possibly Kubrick's best film: "2001: To Space Odyssey."

When I finished with this it just looked to plane, so I dragged it through Topaz and I'm kinda liking it now.
Went to the Veteran's Clinic today for a check up and to get my first shot. The line was a little long but there was another old sailor behind me and we killed the time with old Navy stories. The shot was no big deal and the nurse giving it really knew what she was doing. Didn't feel a thing. Just in time too. Guess you saw on TV where our great Governor of Texas said "no one has to wear a mask after next week and all businesses can open".

When you face stormy emotional weather in life, and your happy takes a detour into the disheartened, having a friend who is there, a friend who says, “I’ve got you” even without ever having to speak those words, but says it through their mere presence, then you have a priceless blessing.
My sweet guy, Romeo, here...he can quietly walk up behind me, much like my real life equine and canine loves always have, and with his sensitive, intuitive strength, he plants his hooves firmly in the grass beside me, and says, “I’ve got you, and I’m not going anywhere.”
A bit pensive I am today, my friends, but it will pass. Love to you all, and wishing you a beautiful new week. 💕
When my oldest daughter was a year old, my mom bought these two feet tall Minnie and Mickey motorized dolls to go in front of her fireplace at Christmas. My daughter was fascinated by them as they moved back and forth and used to clap her hands and jump up and down while she watched them.
A few years later when we moved away from my parents' home, my mom gave me Mickey and Minnie to display in my home for the kids. Now my youngest gets to get excited about them every year- and they are a conversation piece as well for all my Christmastime guests- I mean, who can resist Mickey and Minnie all gussied up for the holidays?
When I saw that a low tide coincided with a clear sunrise I decided to drive down to Northumbria and catch the sunrise on Dunstanburgh Castle.

The sunflowers have been big and bold this year, I could not resist another shot of this one. It is one it's way out, but still it is beauitul, like a giant sun. Have a wonderful Thursday dear friends!!!

...that matches your heels, well, its a moment of happy! I was wandering through this pretty sim, and it was a breath of fresh cheerful air and a respite from the snowy landscapes, that although are pretty, are essentially alien to me since it doesn't snow where I live. I was scampering about in my sassy yellow shoes when I spotted this door...inspiration grasped me! I think I might be becoming an artist, y'all! haha Kidding! I was in the mood for a cheery color palette today though. :)

On the day I took these photographs it was raining on and off. That made for very interesting atmospheric shots. I love clouds in the sky because they convey a mood so easily.
The moment I drove up to this corner I was truck by the tree. The very tree that had obviously at some point a while ago been struck by lightning. You can see that by the damage that has been done to the top and the fact that the tree has been killed completely. The other interesting factor is the way this skeletal tree's branches have taken on the form of lightning itself. Have a closer look.
This tree makes a fitting centrepoint to the composition as the road draws us around the corner to what might be.
WHEN THEY SPOTTED HER THEY CRAWLED INTO THE WATER AND RUSHED TO CATCH HER.
BARKING LOUDLY ALL THE WAY, THEY GOT VERY CLOSE. THEN THEY TIMIDLY TURNED AROUND AND SLOWLY SWAM BACK TO SHORE.
REMINDED ME OF THE DOG FINALLY CATCHING THE CAR.
When I visited Oban, there was a very strong gale which prevented a journey by ferry to Iona :( However, I spent a wonderful day walking in the storm and the next morning, there was a lovely calm and a rainbow :)
