When yealrings are around, sometimes they run around playing with other yearling cubs and sometimes they stick close to their moms ... for protection and food ... and for teachable moments. Here the sow finds a salmon to eat and begins to share it with her cub. She pats it on the head in some sort of gesture. What do you think is the meaning of this?

When she was around a year old and her hair started to come in i was a little sad that her hair was going to be so curly and sorta red due to the fact that my other 2 children, myself and the husband all have dark and stright hair and i knew she would look nothing like the rest of us......but now not a day goes by that i don't fall more in love with her hair.........even when i get stoped in the stores all the time by strangers asking where she gets the red curly hair from.....(my husband always tells them from the mailman) !
When it comes to photography, I only have three self-imposed rules that I'll never break...
1. I will never discard details by clipping the highlights and/or shadows, so I will always be a slave to my histogram. If I need to capture multiple different exposures and blend them together in Photoshop afterwards, then that is what I'll do.
2. I always try to capture (and edit) every photo as accurately as I am able to, as close as possible to what my eyes and brain experienced at the time. This is one of the reasons why I'd much rather shoot a multiple-image panorama at 50mm (the approximate focal-length of our eyes), than capturing everything in a single shot with (all the distortions of) an ultra-wide lens.
3. Despite the obvious temptation to use AI to assist in editing my photos, this will never be an option for me. Anyone who ever sees one of my photos should (hopefully) never question its authenticity. I will admit that the current AIs already produce images that are much more eye-catching and "perfect" than anything that I could ever capture, so my only option is to always remain as "real" as possible.
The biggest downside to these rules is that sometimes the most accurate representation of an amazing scene looks dull and boring (in 2-dimensions) on a phone and/or computer screen. This panorama is a good example of that. The histogram is bunched-up towards the middle, with no danger of clipping any details. It would be easy to stretch out the histogram to brighten this pano and make it "pop" a lot more, but would it still be real? I captured these photos about 30 minutes before sunrise. Yes it was very dark and yes this photo isn't that visually exciting, but yes... it is 100% real.
That's all that matters to me.
It's all about forgetting rather than remembrance.

When I was a child, I was fascinated by World War II history. I especially liked reading about fighter planes. One of my favourite planes was the P-51 Mustang. The plane shown in the picture is Shangri La, a P-51D Mustang flown by Major Dominic Salvatore "Don" Gentile.

There's a light in your eyes tonight
You know I'd know that look anywhere
You've got plans and I'm one lucky man
Before we get so carried away
There's just something I've been wanting to say
When we make love
It's more to me than just an affair
I want you to know how much I care
When we make love
Oh it's such a precious time
We share our hearts, our souls, and our minds
When we make love
Watching you make your little moves
I can tell it's gonna be a long night
All day long, we keep holding on
It couldn't be any better than this
I got it all at my fingertips
When we make love
It's more to me than just an affair
I want you to know how much I care
When we make love
Oh it's such a precious time
We share our hearts, our souls, and our minds
When we make love
These moments.....these feelings.......Mmmmmmm
When we make love
It's more to me than just an affair
I want you to know how much I care
When we make love
Oh it's such a precious time
We share our hearts, our souls, and our minds
When we make love
Now let's make love......Sweet love
When glaciers cut through the Hudson Valley and the sea levels rose, they created a fjord and, of course, some mountains. You're looking at Breakneck Ridge from Storm King Mountain. The fjord came to be known as the Hudson River. The lower half of the river is now a tidal estuary that occupies the Hudson Fjord. The fjord is estimated to have formed between 26,000 and 13,300 years ago.
When a flock of flamingoes rise up from slumber they stretch up to determine dominance. A “flock” of flamingos is actually incorrect, but is also the most common term used. There are also others such as stand, colony, regiment, and my favorite—a flamboyance! A flamboyance of flamingos. San Diego Safari Park in San Pascal, California.

When the light is bright my eyes are all watery, it's annoying especially when I look through my viewfinder, but tears still look interesting and poetic.

Now I’m rarely in public without a mask & honestly what past few months have done to my face I’m not sure I would want to ...
Location: Teck Lim Road at Keong Saik Street.
This building was built when I wasn't even born yet. It managed to survive through the course of history including the Japanese invasion of Singapore. On the right background is The Pinnacle at Tanjong Pagar, one of Singapore's tallest and most expensive place to own.
Teck Lim Road
Teck Lim Road is a one-way road linking Keong Saik Road to Neil Road in Chinatown within the Outram Planning Area of Singapore. The road is lined with conserved quaint shophouses and houses a number of budget hotels and F & B outlets. –Wikipedia
About Keong Saik Street
Once a famous Red Light (prostitution) district of Singapore the area has now been conserved and converted into an entertainment district in Chinatown. The prostitution business has since shifted over to Geylang where it is still popular for those looking for some pleasure.

Shooting a short film in 16mm,
TINTA and Kodak wanted it, but we used Fuji FIlm, so technically, they couldn't include it in their festival. Unfortunate. :(
I was given the privilege to shoot in film thrice (twice in 16 and once in 35) and it's so much more satisfying than video, though less affordable. I'd give up anything to shoot in film again. Darn.

When identifying caterpillars, it is sometimes easy to forget that the different instar stages can look quite different. This knot grass moth (Acronicta rumicis) looks similar to some other shots of it that I have taken - but not quite exactly like them. This is likely down to the fact that this is an earlier stage and once it shed this skin to grow more into the preceeding larger one, it will look like those.
