When Polish immigrants came to America back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, they found comfort and community in their churches. Sweetest Heart of Mary Church was a cornerstone of the Polish community in Detroit. It remains a source of pride and a beacon of faith for Polish Americans in the metro Detroit area to this day. The Church project began in 1890 and was completed in 1893

When Venus shines in the night sky, she eclipses all other lights with her incomparable beauty
A walk on Gress Beach, bathed in moonlight, with Venus setting in the west, the sound of the waves crashing on the reef out in the bay, the song of the grey seals, the cry of a lone seabird flying home to roost - a perfect way to end the day, and a cosy bed with some hot chocolate waiting at Mill View.
When a pair is always a win. For several weeks in late summer, NYS&W's SD45s were the star attraction on the Northern Division. Several occasions would have the 3618 and the 3634 together on the Cortland jobs. Here the 18 leads the 34 and two more south at Preble, NY.
When the sunglow is shining on God's nature, it is always great to witness and wonderful to be able to capture and share!
When things are hopping at the feeders, an occasional raptor, such as this Cooper's Hawk, will fly into the backyard to consider its chances.

We´ve had plenty of rain recently.
Which is good.
But I think rain is needed elsewhere now, not here.

When you live in New England you have two choices. You can either complain about how cold it is, or get out there and try to enjoy it! This was the scene in Rye NH this morning as sea smoke enveloped the entire harbor due to sub-zero temperatures. These fisherman don't have the luxury of staying in on days like this, and the harbor was busy as ever!
When you find a big mirror near the dumpster …what else should you do?
Just use it as much as you can!

I do not think Lassie sees herself in mirrors but I’m sure Candy can!
Dumpster could be often so interesting (but I do not go inside, just outside!) :D

Its been raining in our part of the world. Theres been flooding in some rural areas. I was lucky to get this shot. The rain was picking up as I was leaving. It has been going on almost non stop since almost 24 hrs. All creeks and rivers are flooded. We get two extremes in Australia...either a drought or flooding :(

When I came home,after having enjoyed one of the most beautiful mornings this year, and went to the kitchen to make me a nice cup of coffee I saw this green visitor in the back of my garden. Turns out he had two friends with him. Young ones I think
Well, here is the new luxurious high rise condo for Monnie,
our Monarch caterpillar who is growing daily in quite a process!
We may be in for one more upgrade, but for now,
hopefully this will be perfect for photographing the transformation!

Oh, by the way, this was a serendipitous purchase at Michael's Crafts where, ironically I was looking for a *netted* structure. At 70% off, I couldn't resist paying only $12, as we can always use it for it's real purpose . . . a lantern, of course! Right now there is a piece of cardboard inside the top, with the bamboo post resting and waiting for a possible chrysalis! It's all an experiment for me!
Another shot from my walk from home, I took a chance on a walk just to see what the sky was doing, and it did some nice colour worth shooting, so glad I went for a little wander down a track.
We went out yesterday for dinner on our wedding anniversary to Bosham and stopped along the way for a walk at Arundel where we got a soaking and I shot a rainbow, then later some shots at a windy Bosham harbour.

🇬🇧 Taken last Sunday at Levante in Fregene, this shot captures a playful and spontaneous moment: Michela reaching towards her white hat as it rests above the wooden arch, almost like a sun suspended in the sky. The beach, the sea, and the geometry of the structure create a scene halfway between fashion editorial and summer dream.
