Naturally, it chooses the décor. :)

This is a tiny 1:12 scale replica of the Vitra Eames House Bird, which was designed by Charles and Ray Eames and popular in the 1950s. It's made from resin and has incredibly skinny metal legs. Its tail and legs form a perfect tripod and help to make it surprisingly stable. The armchair and cushion are also dolls house scale. The cushion is just about 1" square.

When I got to this place about an hour and a half before sunrise (or two hours after sunset) and took this picture first, I didn't think it was going to be the best of that sunrise. Because unfortunately the decorative little clouds warped in the further course. I like the mood quite a bit, I just would have liked a little more color in the clouds.

When the sun sets, the city lights up again. The Ghent lighting plan kicks in as thousands of lights are switched on. It’s not a mishmash of styles, but a carefully crafted network of atmospheres and accents. The concept was developed by the famous lighting designer Roland Jéol. In 2004 the City of Ghent won the International city.people.light award for this lighting plan. The Michelin guide awarded it three stars – Law Courts, Ghent, Belgium

In those days when our hearts were true

Nothing could change that strange debut

Our dreams were steadfast it’s what we knew

The future was clear it would see us through

In those days when our hearts were true

Time and tide played a changing game

We were unable to be the same.

In those long days when we lost our aim

The spinning reel of time overcame

Then there was that day of acclaim

It was all untrue that much we knew

But some took a long and different view

Much was said and taken to accrue

against our way, our loss then grew

In those days when our hearts were true

The break then came, the fracture made

The split that placed us in the shade

Our fright was such and truth mislaid

Nothing could reach such a tirade

As strangers then we were unmade

No longer then with hearts of truth

Abandoned there without our youth

The day was dark and I moved south

And I was marked then as a sleuth

In those days with hearts untrue

... tulips from Amsterdam

for 7DoS: This isn't Amsterdam but my guess is some of these bulbs could end up there, ready for the tourists to take home ... and it's geographically close enough ;)

I didn't have a micro-bike, so I quickly made one, out of wire scraps.

One could argue that the bike isn't fully functional, but you can't deny the weight is down to a bare minimum...

(the size of the visible part is just shy of 7.5cm)

You just have to stop and capture it

Heavy rains this morning and then all sunshine!

As this very colorful! and loud! umbrella was drying it reminded me of a butterfly

All good days must come to an end. This time the end was just as good as the whole day, it was magical...

two overexposed shots, layered together, then toned and saturated in Photoshop... two filters used as well.

When I saw these leaves on a blackberry vine I admired how colorful they had become. It was the most colorful thing I saw on my short walk along the road. I don't really like to walk there as the traffic goes by so fast! But it was the only place to get some walking in without driving several miles to get to a better location. The blackberry leaves brightened my day.

Decay is not an end, but a shape. Here, shadow is memory and the crack is a story

When I read that a Tropical Kingbird had showed up at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek I grabbed my camera and headed out...it didn't take long for it to make an 'appearance' at the corner of the natural lake and put on quite a show!

When I arrived at the bird sanctuary, the robins were just gorging on these berries.
