The time I spend in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee has always been a time of searching out those intimate details in Nature. My vision is constantly evolving and your feedback is vital to that growth. Thanks in advance for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

Here in the highest places in the area south of Lake Toba. Hills named Hutaginjang. When my friend was playing an etnic Batak bamboo flute... it was like seeing clouds are dancing in the wind and it was quiet to hear the sounds of blowing wind.
When I found this skull there was a pile of green feathers which made ID easy.I'm thinking it was caught by a Sparrow Hawk as there were signs of other prey around the area.
When new day begins, when the sun gives you the first light. When you look east and think about things ahead of you. Another day in paradise, another battle to fight. It is too early, our sight leaves the sun and we leave to work. There's just a glimpse of hope that maybe today... No. It's not gonna happen.
For this I reactivated my good old and battered 50D again. Definitely need a bigger Tele lens for my full frame camera
Someone told me that at Elgol, in Scotland, if you close your eyes you can really feel the sound of silence.
I smiled at that sentence, but when I was there watching this storm flowing over me I felt enveloped by a sense of solitude and silence as if the whole world had stopped suddenly.
The sun was fully hidden when I reached the Delicate Arch, but just before sunset a gap mercifully opened in the clouds and gave the last light of day a brief window. Other hikers frequently stood underneath the arch to have their photo taken, and I was lucky the scene was free of people when the sun peeked out.

During a week of rain in the Lake District, I was lucky to see a few minutes of not rain and briefly presented with some gorgeous cloud formations.
I decided it was a great moment to panicshoot and take about 120 photos of the same thing in case I missed something good. So what I got was a bunch of photos that did have nice clouds but maaaybe a little less actual framing. I won't complain though, the clouds alone are worth it.
I used a graduated ND filter so that the clouds weren't washed out.

This is a forced perspective shot with a small diorama sitting on a picnic table at Fort Rock State Park. Pure serendipity that the dirt on my dio matched the natural surrounding soil so well.
Well, you can imagine what I was thinking standing under this leafy canopy. The thing was, I had just come down from the snowy upper reaches of the mountain, so it wasn't really all that creative of a stretch.

Well, I've finally bitten the bullet and booked my ticket to Orange County.....I fly out to Los Angeles LAX...on Saturday November 27th for 9 days...YAHHHHH...:))
I used my frequent flyer miles which Virgin had a 50% sale on...so managed to get a free flight for 25,000 miles instead of the usual 50,000...leaving me with another 50,000 to use next year..:))
It's been FIVE looooooooooooooong years since I was last in Costa Mesa, so I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to returning, especially as this will be my first trip to the USA with my DSLR....woot, woot.....Pelicans at Newport Beach look out..lol..:))

When visiting Amsterdam in September 2017 we went to Van Gogh Museum and I purchased this little magnet as a souvenir.
Van Gogh's paintings of Sunflowers are among his most famous. He did them in Arles, in the south of France, in 1888 and 1889.
The sunflower paintings had a special significance for Van Gogh: they communicated ‘gratitude’, he wrote. He hung the first two in the room of his friend, the painter Paul Gauguin, who came to live with him for a while in the Yellow House. Gauguin was impressed by the sunflowers, which he thought were ‘completely Vincent’. Van Gogh had already painted a new version during his friend’s stay and Gauguin later asked for one as a gift, which Vincent was reluctant to give him. He later produced two loose copies, however, one of which is now in the Van Gogh Museum.
