When I think of stars, I think of the Stars and Stripes.
After I got a flag out, I remembered that a silver coin I was given as a gift, had stars on it too. Unable to decide which subject to shoot, I combined them.

When James and I were at Ardenwood on Friday, we stopped by the fountain area (fountain still not running) to watch the trees surrounding the fountain for any warblers or other possible rarities. A puddle along the walk way is the go to spot for birds to drink, bathe and fight.
These two Hermit Thrushes had a short tussle over the rights to that watering hole. It was fun to watch the interactions. ❤️ And of course, a Golden-crowned Sparrow photo-bombed in the foreground.

When you take pictures of raindrops, you're never really sure of what you can see in each one, until they are displayed on your computer screen and sometimes, you don't recognize what it is :))
I often look at the sea and just wish that when I’m old and dying I will still remember the sound of the waves. For me it’s the most soothing sound there is.

When we arrived in Nova Scotia, we did so at the tail end of Hurricane Lee. There were numerous devastating examples she had passed through, and this is one. Still in Yarmouth, and the southern tip of Nova Scotia, this fishing vessel appears to have suffered her wrath.
Now moored at a point more inland, I also wanted to include the hut as a supporting factor. While somewhat sheltered from the elements, repairs could begin at a safer distance from the once raging seas.
This is the color version of one of the images from my black and white series 'Into The Cypress Swamps' that won me the overall title in the Travel Photographer of the Year competition a few months ago.
This one also has a more panoramic look, which was not possible for the bw version as that one was part of a series. It’s my favorite shot of the series, clearly because I’m in it. And the light isn’t too bad either.
The image was shot with a remote control - the camera was on a tripod that I carefully positioned in the water.

The wind was lifting up the clouds of steam from the valley that the storm earlier had caused, while the last rays of the setting sun colored the hat of the nearby peak. At the same time the junipers, located on the lake shores, were waiting still submerged for spring to free them up from the dead grip of the thick and heavy snow.

p.s. The remaining of the ice submerged into the lake and the junipers trapped under the water were solid enough to withstand normal human weight without yielding. The cracking sounds of slow melting ice and the bubbles popping-up on the surface from time to time reminded me not to force my luck too much and go any further.
Just seemed like an appropriate pic to do in light of this afternoons tier 4 restriction announcement.

Le 8 Février depuis Suresnes la Lune se levait derrière Montmartre. L'occasion d'en prendre plein la vue ! C'était fascinant de voir cet astre glisser derrière le Sacré Cœur, et d'en apercevoir la Lumière à travers les ouvertures de la tour puis du lanternon !
When I have pictures on display I don't like sticking around while people look at them so I go for walks and take more pictures. I took a few laps around the neighborhood.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Avon Gorge and the River Avon, linking Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset. Since opening in 1864, it has been a toll bridge, the income from which provides funds for its maintenance. The bridge is built to a design by William Henry Barlow and John Hawkshaw,[2] based on an earlier design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It is a grade I listed building and forms part of the B3129 road.
