Eyes and fists shut tight

When I was a child I used to play Subbuteo with my school friends; it is a table top game simulating team sports such as the one featured here, association football.
Playing Subbuteo is a physical simulation of association football, involving dexterity and skill in flicking the playing figures, which stand on weighted bases, across the tabletop pitch towards the ball. Pictured are two original teams West Ham United and Ipswich Town

When I came home,after having enjoyed one of the most beautiful mornings this year, and went to the kitchen to make me a nice cup of coffee I saw this green visitor in the back of my garden. Turns out he had two friends with him. Young ones I think

When you have a large telephoto lens and you say you're taking pictures of Booby's. It's pretty funny to see people's reactions. I don't think you could get any closer to a flying Masked Booby.

When Venus shines in the night sky, she eclipses all other lights with her incomparable beauty
A walk on Gress Beach, bathed in moonlight, with Venus setting in the west, the sound of the waves crashing on the reef out in the bay, the song of the grey seals, the cry of a lone seabird flying home to roost - a perfect way to end the day, and a cosy bed with some hot chocolate waiting at Mill View.
When I saw this last Sunday I was shook. A new competitor and a beautiful looking machine. Whilst in York to meet a friend for lunch and drinks, I stopped here around the time on the map.
Well done York Pullman, a cracking job.

A PEOPLExpress Boeing 727 tuxies to the gate after landing at DCA in the mid 1980s. There was about a dozen airlines with 727 service at DCA.
When I was in South Africa, we stopped by a bird refuge. It was a lovely little park which allowed one to get close to many of the beautiful birds of South Africa.
This flamingo thought that he was hiding among the palms and other plants, but no such luck for him. I found an opening in the foliage and captured him among all the greenery.

When I tire of taking photos I look at the work of others and what they are up to in their photography. It works every time ... I am inspired to pick up my camera and shoot.
A case in point is this sampling (from my TV screen) of a couple of photographers; Olga Karlovic and Alexey Titarenko (all rights reserved to them of course). I confess I have too many photography books for our small lakeside A-frame cottage.

When your world moves too fast, and you lose yourself in the chaos, introduce yourself to each color of the sunset.
When the UP OCS came to the east coast, I myself photographed it just as everyone else did. Besides the trip up New Jersey Transit, one of the highlights of the east coast visit for me was seeing the train pass the historic Bethlehem Steel Mill, which lies aside the former Lehigh Valley mainline. I've always admired the history and look of the mill and to see such a train pass it was a really great opportunity.
