Travel is one of the greatest joys in my life and it is something still very difficult to manage from Australia at present. My daughter's cheesy souvenir collection is an easier snapshot than my 1000s of photos to look back on.
Like many people, I mourned the loss of a big overseas adventure in 2020 and the practicalities of life mean it will be a few years before I can attempt it again. A reminder to appreciate any opportunity you have while you still have it!
...go crazy! Such bad light, rain, almost dusk, shot through branches and impossible to retrieve in any sensible way. But I liked the effect of the trees surrounding her so what the heck! A bit of artistic licence 😁
The sun is slowly returning to our part of the world here in the midwest, making it possible to slip in a photo or two on my way home from work. Snow-covered M-89 highway heading into Allegan, Michigan, was quite busy; waiting for traffic to clear took just long enough to make my fingers thoroughly chilled.... Brrrr
Wisteria leaves are turning yellow...

Waves bouncing off of the seawall at the south end of "Victoria Beach" in Laguna Beach, California, rebound into oncoming waves to create a beautiful and turbulent water playground.
Note on watermark: Some people have noticed the watermark changing. I have been experimenting...trying to find the most minimally intrusive version that will still prevent the image from being stolen (again). Hope this one is not too obnoxious.

When leaving the restaurant after dinner this evening, the lighting was so pleasing that I had to take a photo. It also gave me a chance to try out the camera on the phone I picked up last week.
When a Sequoia falls in the woods, the Earth moves. Notice that the roots (near the center of the picture) look remarkably like a big Leo.
When you think you've driven too far, keep driving another 50 miles along HWY 71 and you'll come across this old windmill on the western side of the highway. The remoteness of this relic is quite astonishing. I'm sure I'll revisit it many times again looking for that really cool shot, as I feel something is still missing on this canvas ...

To get to this beach, you have to go through a 300-foot tunnel that was blasted back in the 1920s when Oceanside was a resort town. The tunnel is found at the base of the cliff just north of town.

When you get cumulus clouds like this and the dog needs a walk, despite gale force winds sandblasting us, there's only one destination. This is eight shots rapid-fire portrait with ND4.
When you hike down the trail and enter the canyon to Lower Kentucky Falls there are two waterfalls side by side dropping into the gorge. I have a composition that I am going to share later of the two in one shot. My previous post showed the waterfall to the left and this is the one to the right.

Shuttle Enterprise OV-101 built by Rockwell International for NASA as part of the Space Shuttle program to perform atmospheric test flights being launched from a modified Boeing 747. It was constructed without engines or a functional heat shield. As a result, it was not capable of spaceflight.
