Taken at one week old, Cutfin's (004) new calf (364) is very cute and VERY energetic! Can't wait for next summer, I've already got my bets in for who the new mums will be!
Week End
Another image from last Wednesday's amazing sunset. This was taken well after the sun sank below the horizon way to left fame. The sky above the Olympics suddenly light up with this orange glow reaching way north. Bonus colors in that part of the sky reminiscent of what's normally seen in July or early August.

This week began in Houston and ended in Colorado, with only work in between. No sports were involved in any of this. However, today I walked outside of a restaurant near Denver and this Dodge Viper RT/10 was parked outside. The first generation Viper is considered as a major catalyst in the modern 'sports' car era. As a side note, the Viper was heavily influenced by Carroll Shelby's original Cobra of the Sixties. He passed away two months ago.
So this is for Week 5, Technical 10 shots only, post your favorite from the series.
Yes, my wonderful 105mm is broken, rattles inside and won't focus. She is off tomorrow to Nikon for repair. I found this subject difficult to do because of all the personal info on the page. Finally found away to hide it with aperture blur.
The 2017 Challenge is about story telling and I thought this was a story every photographer can relate too.
I added a film grain in Nik Fitlers.

I wasn't sure which photo I should use for 52 weeks. So I put one outtake into the comments.
Week 09 - 26 February - 4 March
Well one of my bucket list shots is to do a concert shoot. And not just any concert, but a big arena/stadium venue kind of concert... sadly, most venues stop you from even using a phone to take a photo.
Why? I don't know. I mean it's not like anyone's going to make any money from the images; and even if you shoot a video and post it on youtube, other than further promoting the artiste, there isn't much benefit to the person who shot the video. And I don't think that I'm alone in thinking like this.
Anyway, this weeks shot is of the Foo Fighters, namely Dave. Got a new little canon point and shoot with an 18x zoom. I like it. Still would much rather be standing with my 80-200mm rather than sneaking my little Canon point and shoot. More next week.

My goal for this year to is to visit the lighthouses within 3 hours driving distance and photograph them at different times. This is Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. It was snowing and very cold at the time of this exposure.

Who are these people with the loud motorcycles, leather jackets, tattoos, and long beards? Where are they going as they roar through town in large packs? And what do they do when they arrive wherever they’re going? I RIDE is the film that finally tells the true-to-life story of the biker community in America.
Through the eyes and music of The Fryed Brothers Band, I RIDE will take you on an illuminating road trip through the biker world: bare knuckle fights you actually sign up for, wild bar-b-ques and camp outs, and partying raw and rowdy at some of the biggest hard core biker festivals. This trip will wind up at Sturgis, South Dakota for a Fryed Brother Band performance to end all performances.
The Fryed Brothers Band? They’re the best band you’ve probably never heard of. For 29 years they’ve been the exclusive ‘house band’ of America’s Biker Movement. Every year The Fryed Brothers headline most of the preeminent biker events in America including the Easyriders Show in Sacramento, CA, Rip’s Bad Ride in Irvine, CA, Ghost Mountain Riders Show in Salinas, CA, the Circle of Pride in Iowa, and most importantly, ‘Sturgis Bike Week,’ the largest gathering of bikers in the world, which completely takes over the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota every August to celebrate this outlaw culture.
When they were young, Harry and Tommy Fryed’s older brother Mark died in a accident while riding his beloved Harley. The brother’s resolved then to keep Mark’s memory alive through a devotion to the motorcycle culture and the music he loved... and thus was formed The Fryed Brothers Band. The song ‘I Ride’ -- a key song in their repertoire and in the documentary -- is a tribute to their fallen brother.
I RIDE, the film, is a tribute to their perserverance, dedication and love of all things biker.
February 5-11
I shot 16 frames of film, and i've uploaded 4/16. It was raining and I was in the car while i shot this. I can remember telling my mom that even though the light was just about to turn green, she had to keep the car still because i really wanted this shot. It turned out really nice. I especially like the rain on the pavement and there is a a lot of faded color in the middle of the photo if you view in large.
As a consolation prize of having to wait a while for week 6, I've uploaded 3 other shots from that day.
Week 7's photo is just amazing and i love it. I'm too tired to upload it tonight, so i'll upload it tomorrow. :)
The aim for this photo was to add a 'fall' effect on the photo. As the photo was based around a forest and leaves I thought this would be a reasonable edit. Starting off I used 'Selective Colour' and changed the greens and the yellows until the colours of the photo starting being more similiar to those in autumn. After, I then added levels and colour curves to get an appropriate colour correction. After this I realised the grass was at an unrealistic colour, so I decided to overlay the grass with a green brush and then changed the opacity. I feel this edit has worked perfectly to show off autumn colours.

Unfortunately Liam and Curtis had no luck in trying to find the Dragon wizard. Liam eventually gave up and decided to go check if Sally made it home okay.
So, I'm back from Rumania and I hardly took any photos...but yeah...I hope I'll get more time next week ;)
Anyway I wish everybody a happy new year! Hope you all have snow where you are, cause I don't have any!! And this really bothers me -.-....
Week 18 - 6-13 May 2015
Here's this week's offering. Shot this at the Miss Universe Australia Victorian Finals. Another one off the bucket list... ish. Just wished I had better lighting, not that the stage lighting was bad, just wanted more control. The kind of control that a couple of strobes would have helped. Anyway, I'm hoping I'll get a fewer bites at a runway shot soon. More next week.
