The one part of college I don't miss.... Usually, Cardiac Hill - seen here - is a sea of student humanity; but, as you can see, everything quiets down the last week of the semester. I asked Beth out for the first time on this hill.
A large monolithic presence rises from the ground, in a play of lights, reflections and fades.
The representation of power that takes shape in action, of consciousness that flows into knowledge, in a symbolic dialogue between thought and evolution.

Week #163, Season
This is the time of year when the swans can be seen in our area and the fog sets in.
Autumnal colours finally out in Healey Dell, just right amount of water flowing through River Spodden after a week of rain.
A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I went camping in Cunningham Gulch north of Silverton, CO, with some friends. The San Juans had just got their first dusting of snow on the mountain peaks and we were going to explore the Alpine Loop. It was fantastic weather, plenty of early fall colors with the bonus of snow tipped peaks. The overnight low the first night reached the low 20s, but the next day reached into the upper 60s. The one thing that would be the cherry on top to this trip was seeing a moose.
So, just as our day was coming to its conclusion, this guy appeared on the edge of a meadow near Howardsville, and he was kind enough to allow me a few snaps. but, he was pretty clear that I had come close enough.
Things to leave in last week: Guilt, Negativity, Doubt, Excuses, Fear.
Things to bring into this week: Positive Energy, Hope, Courage, Love, Gratitude.
A new week (if you are keeping track of things like that!) .... moving forward. This might be my last week at home. We may be going back to work on Sunday. I need to conjure up a whole lot of physical energy to finish some of these projects that I have started and left unfinished. Wish me luck... I'm going to need it!!
And the the rest of you... be well, stay well!!
(Oh.... and YES! Still shooting at the same place! Loving it more than ever. I transplanted some flowers from my place to this place yesterday. The soil is incredibly good, so I think I'm going to plant flowers from seed there this year! (That ought to freak out the RC Airplane Club that uses the land back behind this place... there are a couple of them that really think someone lives here, so some of them play tricks on the ones that believe this by setting things up there, like little statues sitting by the front door... and a clothesline with clothes hanging on it!! LOL! See... it's not just me!!) Have a good week!
Posted for Happy Caturday! Our cats by Numbers! This is one of Holly’s little ginger kittens checking out the calendar to see her age! They were 12 weeks old this past Wednesday! Happy Caturday! We are still having internet trouble so I had to ride somewhere to get a signal to post from my phone! Oh! I hate this internet outage!

Momentaneamente.
On a recent trip to Mendocino, Ca we visited the city of Fort Bragg. We found this jewel along Highway 1 near a railroad track just inside the city of Fort Bragg; you cant miss it. On this shot, the conditions were perfect; no mist spray with every shot, no 50 foot climb to get here and the tide was low. Hope you all have a great week. I thank you in advance for your visits and comments.:) Jave
SCOUT: "Daddy? Daddy!"
DADDY: "Yes Scout?"
SCOUT: "Daddy, I want everyone to see the beautiful Little Red Riding Hood that I received as a Christmas gift from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear this year!" *Preens.* "I look soooo pretty in it! Can you put my photograph on Looking Close on Friday? Please!"
DADDY: "But Scout, the theme for this week is red bows."
SCOUT: "Well, my new Little Red Riding Hood ties with a bow under my chin!" *Nods emphatically.* "See?" *Points to bow with paw.*
DADDY: "Hhhmmm... well, that is true, Scout, it does." *Doubtful.* "However, it's very small! The bow needs to be more of a focal point for the photograph."
SCOUT: "Oh I can fix that, Daddy!" *Smiles.* "Wait there!" *Rushes away before coming back with a big red bow tied under his chin.* "Now can you put my photograph on Looking Close on Friday, please Daddy?"
DADDY: "Goodness! Where did that ribbon come from?"
SCOUT: "It was one of the ones you collected from Christmas Day, yesterday. I think I look pretty!" *Preens more.* "Now, can you PLEASE put my photograph on Looking Close on Friday, Daddy, so that everyone can admire me?"
DADDY: "Alright Scout."
SCOUT: "Oh thank you, Daddy!" *Preens even more.* "I knew you would see it my way... eventually."
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 26th of December is "red bow". My little bear Scout received this beautifully made Little Red Riding Hood cape from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear for Christmas this year, and whilst Scout is correct, it does tie with a bow, the bow was very small, so being a master of dress-ups, Scout embellished his new cape with a lovely big red bow! I hope you like my choice for this week's theme, and that it makes you smile!
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

This week subject: Spring.

The Lunar New Year is an official national holiday in China, accompanied by state-mandated schedule adjustments issued by the State Council. For many people who do not have the flexibility to choose their own paid vacation dates, it is one of the rare opportunities to travel (the other being the National Day “Golden Week” in October). As a result, major tourist destinations across China are often packed during these long holidays. This photograph captures the scene on the second day of the Lunar New Year along Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street in Shanghai, where waves of visitors crowd the bustling commercial thoroughfare.

I've long wanted to see a Ring Ouzel. I'd seen one pop up on a rock on the clifftop path on this particular evening. However, ineptitude meant it'd gone before I managed to get a shot. Chatting later to a couple about them, this little beauty popped up behind me! Lovely experience.
I actually saw a few more this week on the Western Peaks of the Lake District. Like buses these Ouzels.

Both dog and owner were having fun in the cool waters of the beach. Owner was getting needed exercise throwing the stick and the dog enjoyed retrieving it from the waves.
