A few years ago we introduced our kids to the advent calendar....and it quickly became a favorite tradition.
Last Sunday we added the celebration of Advent through the use of the four candles (for the four Sundays before Christmas). This has already become a favorite of the kids...and us as well.
The first Sunday was about light..."The people walking in darkness have seen a great light -- on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." Isaiah 9:2
I hope to capture an image each week which represents what we're teaching...enjoy the light!
This week I walked around Edinburgh's Old Town-Grassmarket,Victoria St, St Cithbet's garveyard-and PrincesSt gardens, which were virtually empty due to the weather. It was a particularly pleasant walk!!
We need a better venue for these pictures. We're never quite taking them from the same angle or the same distance. Still... posterity.
I had big plans for this week and intended to get a V-day picture posted on the 14th, but I have been dealing with some serious physical pain this week. I won't bore you with my health details, but I am finding myself having to settle for this photo this week.

The heart was actually in the original photo, but I changed out the thick cord it was hanging on for a thin digital one. And yes, Dazzle is holding the rose. He was SO patient with me on that! The XOXO was leaning against him. In processing, I removed the background and added the frame.

Keeping it real this week and taking my photo in front of the giant pile of baby stuff we've accumulated but have yet to deal with. (This is in addition to the stuff we've actually put away and the piles of stuff in our bedroom.)
Remind me to tell you about the time my midwife made me pee all over my hand... and then I'll tell you about how it's now impossible to bend over, how I've given up on wearing any bra besides a sleep bra, and how I gained 24 pounds in the first 26 weeks of pregnancy. That's right folks, I'm a buck fifty and PROUD.
Also, no more ice cream. Or bread.
Niblet weighs over two pounds now, and she's 14 inches long. Her eyes opened for the first time this week! We can't wait to find out what color those peepers are. I feel her kicking in multiple places at once, and she seems to get more active every day. She kicks all over my belly, under my ribs, and sometimes she stomps on my cervix which is super fun, let me tell you. This Sunday is exactly three months until my due date... holy mackerel. Kid's gonna be here before we know it and I still can't believe I'm pregnant.

I had breakfast just before this picture was taken, so I look a bit bigger below the chest than in my previous pictures. Since I eat a lot during the day, I guess this is what I look like most of the time ;)
It has been a quiet week, not much has happened, but I did have an appointment with my midwife and she told me the baby is head down already so that's great news.. I hope he/she doesn't turn around at the last second to give me a hard time ;)
Playing with Dragging the Shutter again - this time it worked better, although I didn't get the effect I wanted.
This is actually Plan B shoot - a completely second shoot - for which the boys were extremely happy about (less so the Photographer).
Plan A looked decent on the LCD but was unsalvageable on the computer, and since this was their last 52 Weeks for Dogs for the year I couldn't NOT try again.

WEEK 41 – Barnes Crossing Kroger, Post-Remodel (III)
Stepping out of Aisle 5, here’s a logical follow-up shot: a view across the rear actionway, from Aisle 6 and beyond! Given that it’s not focused on a perimeter wall, this shot doesn’t quite feature much in the way of décor, although it does allow us a good view of all of those aisle markers. I’m still not sure why the ones for Aisles 4 and 5 up at the front actionway – as we saw in this view – are differently-colored, since all of the ones along the back actionway here all look alike! That’s even stranger if you consider that the Aisle 5 marker we saw in the very previous photo is gray as well, but its counterpart at the other end of the aisle is yellow. Odd…

Bris in the snow. Already 2ft deep in my yard and we're expecting another nor-easter tonight. I'm missing the five heat waves from this summer but I do love the look of clean snow
Wheels is important in this town; weather it's the type that many ride on together, or the two wheels like these; it's the best way to get around. Our's was in the shop this week because the suspension finally gave out. New control arms and tie rods and she was good to go again. It cost a lot...
The pathway to Fisherman's Warf in Victoria, BC provided some nice curves for this weeks theme. It was a stiff competition for this week's pictrure...Curves are everywhere.

The semester is almost over and I'm feeling a little more relaxed than usual and it's pretty nice. I started to make plans for the holiday I'll have in two weeks and I can't wait to see the places I want to.
after several weeks of "action june", i thought it would be nice to have a nice smiley face photo in her 52 weeks set. i took this as the sun was getting low in the sky and it seemed to shine right through her silly junedog ears.
