Taken on the Emirates Cable Car on the way over to Royal Victoria Dock. Shot through the unbelievably dirty windows so please don't pixel peep.

It is impossible to describe how vast and beautiful Iceland is, so difficult to do it justice.

Pancha Island

is an islet that is located at the northeastern tip of Ribadeo, at the mouth of the Eo River. With a limited area, it occupies almost 1 hectare and, although two lighthouses stand on it (one of them painted white and blue, dating from 1860), it is most likely that neither the lighthouse nor the island in general can be accessed due to because it is linked to the coast by a bridge that is closed most of the time. Despite this, it should be noted that the view is much more beautiful from the viewpoint than from the lighthouse.

As soon as we set off along the Faro road (which is signposted as "Estrada do Faro"), an impressive panoramic view of the Ría appears before us, with Figueras and Castropol in the background.

The spectacular viewing point Stagastein offers splendid panoramic views of the fjord and a unique closeness to nature.

Arriving from Flåm, where you find the famous Flåm Railway, this is a great sightseeing trip and should definitely be on your "bucket list". The Stegastein viewing platform is hanging at 30 metres (98 ft) out from the mountain walls and 650 metres up from the fjord, and gives you the feeling that you are floating above the fjord and villages below.

The platform, which is part of the Aurlandsfjellet Norwegian Scenic Route, is open all year round and is placed along the mountain road between Aurland and Lærdal.

The location was on the west facing escarpment known locally as Lincoln Edge, in the cathedral city of Lincoln. The viewpoint gives a clear view of west Lincolnshire and the Nottinghamshire plain. I was capturing the sunset when I noticed a flock of seagulls flying home to their roost.

“A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints.” ~ Wilfred Peterson

Who knew that traveling to new places could be so much fun....we really did have the time of our life in Glacier and the Canadian Rockies. This was taken from the shore of Two Medicine Lake as we waited for our sight seeing boat tour to leave; couldn't have asked for a better morning!!!! Great boat tour and hike to Upper Two Medicine Lake....more pics to follow one of these days. Have a fabulous week, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments :-)

Kruger National Park, South Africa

Drumbeg is reached via the remarkably beautiful Assynt coastal road, the B869. This single track road provides a scenic link between Lochinver and Kylesku, and takes in some of Scotland's best scenery.

The village itself itself lies on the north facing coast of Assynt, looking out across Eddrachillis Bay to Handa Island and mainland Sutherland. A viewpoint with a car park has been constructed at the west end of village and from here you can take in the magnificent seascapes to the north.

This is a well known viewpoint west of Ottawa. I went at sunset and got a few images but there were way too many people being too loud and it ruined the experience. I thought the sun might come up on the left and stream into the valley, so I decided to come back at sunrise. I didn’t expect this beautiful mist that was floating around and took a bunch of different shots. The sun eventually did form a beam of light into the valley, but I ended up liking this pre-sunrise shot the best.

Overlooking the San Juan River as it flows through Gooseneck State Park, Utah. On the horizon is Monument Valley in Arizona.

Some places seem to be made solely for photographers.

Karkonosze mountain range; south-west Poland

Visiting my favorite viewpoint by browsing thru my archives. I seem to have hundreds of photos from this place.

You could stand on this viewpoint forever watching the river flow by and listening to the wind.

Karhunkierros trail goes down below following the river and a small side trail goes to this hilltop.

It was a rainy day which actually adds to the photo. A sunny midday shot would have been boring.

This time a fresh edit with ACR and PS to match my current style for forest photos.
