So, on September 25, 2014, ViewPoint Realty, in partnership with Vision Air Services, took to the skies over HRM via helicopter with ace check pilot Fred Shuman and two photographers, Tim L'Esperance of Vision Air (also a pilot) and Sean McMullen, Director of Marketing and photographer at ViewPoint. after my images were taken for the time brief, I wanted to explore those techniques a little further in the FFVC brief but with some additional techniques as well. So for this image, I tried to get a really nice viewpoint of the Blur of traffic moving along and flowing towards the centre point of the horizon/street and additionally got up close to the railing and twisted the cameras view a bit to have it and my viewpoint flow along this path too only from on the other side of the road. This composition got some added balance around the viewpoint down the shape and line flow of the image. The railing had one other large advantage in that it offered a large amount of stabilization which is so important for an image where I was using a low shutter speed to catch motion and so helped make a much clearer image around the blur of motion. Format: Portrait cropped with a ratio 4x6 for Print and because it fits the image well. Shutter Speed 1/6 of a second and ISO of 63. Camera settings achieved with the app "Camera FV-5 Lite" post-editing in Photoshop, edited curves and levels to up lighting slightly and give the image a slightly more unifying light level also to make the colours more vibrant.

One of Oregon's secret hideaways is located just east of Tygh Valley along Highway 216. The White River plunges 90' over a basalt shelf. The park offers excellent viewpoints of the White River falls. A rugged quarter-mile trail takes hikers down deep within the canyon to the historic hydroelectric power plant at the base of the raw, churning power of the falls. The power plant supplied electricity to Wasco and Sherman Counties from 1910 until the completion of The Dalles Dam in 1960.
The park is a popular picnicking, hiking and fishing retreat for visitors to the Deschutes River corridor. Opening early each spring when the desert flowers are in bloom and closing after the leaves turn in the fall, this park offers all of the intrigue of history since time began. The chasm of the falls tells a geological story of violence and power; the old grist pond tells the story of people learning to use that power. The hydroelectric plant at the bottom tells the story of human ingenuity and persistence as we turned the Pacific Northwest's abundant natural energy into electricity.
