enjoy it...thank you so much...

A couple painting their metal gate on the street in a quiet cul-de-sac. I was not sure whether or not to publish this image, perhaps for obvious reasons. I then decided to do it but replace the anodyne and featureless grey sky by a more dominant second-hand sky (using AI) that would take some of the visual flak. Perhaps I have ended up in a rather uncomfortable place. Leica M8, Voigtlander AS 2.8/90.

One of the less obvious viewpoints on Phuket is this one at the top of a windy road on the South East corner. The view is wide ranging - you can see as far away as Phi Phi Island and Krabi from here

A viewpoint in Lisbon, famous for the view over the Tejo river.

The view wasn't however a match for the show offered by the crowd. And someone had payed for an entertainer singing karaoke.

Viewpoint in Taipei. You can even see yourself :-))

This is a panorama made up of five simple shots. Hugin with a Triplane projection (parameter=53) was used to build the panorama. Darktable was used for the edition. You can read additional technical information in my profile (about section).

This the the Chilean Viewpoint building in Benmore Gardens which I was lucky enough to catch during a colourful sunset.

"It is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream. When you have something like a nightmare, you will wake up and tell yourself that it was only a dream. It is said that the world we live in is not a bit different from this."

PRINTS

A view from Barne's Gap in the Sperrins, Northern Ireland.

An account of my weekend in the Sperrins:

The Sperrins

The view is looking nice over Atlin Lake.

A good friend of mine asked me to join for a special constallation shot...there is a viewpoint closeby, that the Cologne cathedral and the TV tower match a line in some symmetry fashion, that the sun would come behind twice per year...OK, wrapped all gear , but had no luck with weather and clouds on that day...The attached capture was taken 2 days after, and the sun did not really make it behind, but overall conditions great...the shot is taken with 2 converters in line, that was working great, even auto focus and lens data would not transfer to camera...All a good weekend ahead! Thanks, Udo.

Looking out over the Bergen fjord from Mount Floyen. A fine winter day in Bergen, Norway.

Bobbejaankrans viewpoint. It's at the end of the winter season in the Krugerpark and the Timbavati river at the foot of the hill stands almost dry.

We had this viewpoint entirely to ourselves this June evening. There are other more popular viewpoints but I was very grateful to my brother-in-law for showing me this one. To the far right of picture you can see a glimpse of Mount Baker, while the distant mountains in centre picture are in Canada. Over to the left of picture are the San Juan Islands

Walking around the 'path' on the roof of the Metropol Parasol in Seville, popularly known as the Setas de Sevilla ("Mushrooms of Seville")

Taking a peek at the Upper Falls in Letchworth State Park. Happy snowy Monday around these parts!

Four specially commissioned sculptural seats by John Kennedy on the infamous A939 Lecht Road which sits at 637m above sea level offers spectacular views towards Corgarff Castle. Corgarff Castle was originally built in 1550 by the Forbes clan and has been a site of great significance for several tumultuous events throughout its history. Though small in scale, the white-harled Castle stands in stark isolation from its surroundings and has a monumental and evocative presence in an otherwise almost uninhabited landscape.

The Watchers installation has a significant relationship with the Castle, which was already established by the existing standing stone sculpture `A Moment in Time` by Louise Gardiner which was designed to frame telescopic views of the Castle. The Watchers adds some new but similar formed cowels clustered on the hillside close to the existing standing stone.

These contain seating and provide hooded shelters for individuals in a wind and snow-swept environment.

Each cowl is formed like origami from folded sheets of steel.

As a group, the cowls contribute to the evocative atmosphere of the site.

The abstract nature of these enveloping cowls invites various interpretation as to what they might be: a henge, a herd on a hillside, armoured figures, helmets, a group of martial figures, tents, crows, ruins, standing stones or whisky stills....

Teamwork..............Dave Constable had his shots in the bag and was giving out welcome black coffee (thanks Dave) , an anonymous lady and her headlights on foreground lighting, me on the timer and a fieldmouse at my feet, checking composition. We had a great time at Reculver............:-) The red lights on the horizon are warning lights of the local windfarm.

Wonderful viewpoint near Santander, Spain, the trail is a bit muddy after rain, but it's short and easy. Atlantic ocean at right, Picos de Europa mountains in the distance.

Phuthok Chiengkhan, Loei Thailand.

A crystal-clear view into the heart of the Vikos Gorge, one of the deepest and most impressive canyons in the world. The sharp contrast between the sun-drenched limestone cliffs on the left and the lush, shadowed vegetation at the bottom captures the raw, untamed beauty of the Pindus Mountains. Taken from one of the breathtaking viewpoints in Zagori, Epirus, Greece.

With the Isle of Portland in the distance, this view is taken between Lulworth and Durdle Door, a few miles further east than some of my previous photos across Weymouth Bay.

Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint is located 10 miles west of Tillamook, Oregon on the north end of the beautiful Three Capes Scenic Route.

"The sleepy village of Cape Meares is tucked along the northern side of the Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge and Cape Meares State Park. This small, but impressive park is home to both the shortest lighthouse and the largest Sitka Spruce in Oregon. Its viewpoints overlooking the Pacific Ocean are known as a prime whale-watching spots during migration seasons. This area is also a favorite nesting ground for sea birds, including the Common Murre, Bald Eagle, and Peregrine Falcon. It is home to the “Octopus tree,” once featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and was a Native American meeting place.

This village has spectacular and secluded beaches, spanning many miles, and is a perfect location for beach combing, kite flying, camp fires and storm watching. The beach borders the Bay Ocean Spit, separating Tillamook Bay from the ocean, and offers mile and miles of hiking trails among forested sand dunes."
