Looking north at Whalehead Island and Beach from the House Rock Viewpoint.
The Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor stretches along Oregon’s south coast for 12 miles north of Brookings. It is a visual feast of sea stacks, cliffs, and secret beaches. Experiencing this was my primary reason for heading this far south. Was amazing.
Samuel H. Boardman was the first superintendent of Oregon State Parks, and a major advocate for preserving coastal beauty for the public. He was also the founder of the town of Boardman in Morrow County, Oregon.
Have a great week!
Three beaches from the Karon Viewpoint in Phuket
My morning tour of Phuket island started off at this place- the Karon Viewpoint- called Kho Sam Haad in Thai, which means ‘The Hill of the Three Beaches’. So that's exactly what you see from here- three beaches. Located quite a distance from my hotel, and on top of a hall, this is one of Phuket's most popular photo spots, and well worth a few minutes to take in the splendid view. The closest and smallest beach seen in the foreground is Kata Noi Beach. A bit further is the beautiful Kata Beach with its island ‘Koh Poo’ which means Crab Island and in the far, the very long Karon Beach.
Taken from the viewpoint above the visitor centre . Its a bit of a clamber up the hill, but worth it for this view.

A closer view of this iconic Oregon lighthouse.
"The area around the viewpoint was home to First people's tribes for hundreds of years as it was an amazing ground for both hunting and fishing. One of the first Europeans who visited this area in the late 18th-century was Bruno de Heceta, a Spanish explorer who gave the name to this headland. First European settlers started to move into this area in 1888, the same year the United States Lighthouse Service approved Heceta Head Light construction." Wiki

Winterberg view
On the "Kleiner Winterberg" there are several viewpoints in the "Great Zschand", which for me is one of the most beautiful, especially in such morning light.
Am Kleinen Winterberg gibt es mehrere Aussichtspunkte in den Großen Zschand, dieser gehört für mich zu den schönsten, besonders bei solchem Morgenlicht.
This is the highest accessible viewpoint on Lummi Island, which you can reach on a 2 mile (very steep!) trail from the car park through the Baker Preserve.
Lummi Island lies at the southwest corner of Whatcom County, Washington, United States, between the mainland part of the county and offshore San Juan County. The Lummi Indian Reservation is situated on a peninsula east of the island, but it does not include Lummi Island. The island has a land area of 23.97 square kilometres (9.25 square miles) and had a population of 822 as of the 2000 census. The population nearly doubles in summer when second-home owners from Canada and the U.S. arrive for the summer months.
The island is accessible by a 20-car ferry, the Whatcom Chief, run by Whatcom County Public Works. It is a 6-minute passage from Gooseberry Point on the mainland to the island.
