Vincent Willem van Gogh，1853年3月30日－1890年7月29日），荷蘭後印象派畫家。他是表現主義的先驅，並深深影響了二十世紀藝術，尤其是野獸派與德國表現主義。梵谷的作品，如《星夜》、《向日葵》和《有烏鴉的麥田》等，現已躋身於全球最具名、廣為人知的藝術作品的行列。他在2004年票選最偉大的荷蘭人當中，排名第十，次於第九偉大的17世紀畫家倫勃朗。
On a journey through the land, Hai Van is always an attractive landscape. Hai Van is highest pass in the country, full of perilous obstacles and is the last spur of the Truong Son Range reaching to the sea. In “Phu Bien Tap Luc”, Le Qui Don, the Viet Nam scholar who lived in the XVII century wrote that Hai Van with its foot standing in the sea surface and its summit covered with clouds. The pass standings as a borderline divide Thuan Hoa and Quang Nam provinces.
On the top of the pass are the vestiges of long ago, a fortified gateway. The gate facing to Thua Thien province is inscribed with the three words “Hai Van gate” and the other gate looking down on Quang Nam province is engraved “the most grandiose gateway in the world”. In the XVI century this land belonged to Cham Kingdom and was given to the Dai Viet as an engagement present for the Princess Huyen Tran of the Tran Dynasty. The old story is only a memory, old vestiges covered with green moss, among vast spaces vast of plants and trees, tourists are filled with the emotions of the past.
Hai Van means winds and clouds. Winds like a herd of horses galloping a number of miles, clouds like pouring from haven. Cao Ba Quat, the poet living in the XVII century only respected apricot blossom (Nhat sinh de thu bai mai hoa) was surprised when he was before the landscape: Nhat bich ngung vi gioi – Trung van nhieu tac thanh. On the summit of Hai Van pass, a panorama of the Danang city, Tien Sa port, Son Tra peninsular, Cu Lao Cham and a long white sandy beach can be seen.
Whatever endowed by nature, time by time and by hands of man will be something of humanitarian values. Coming to Hai Van is to come to the sanction of two land, to satisfy the peak-conquering philosophy, to mix ourselves in to echo of heroic songs of Vietnamese ancients when they went to find new lands to be emotional to prolong past of the Center region where suffering a lot of losses in the course of finding and protecting the nation.

Voormalig pakhuis van de Firma H. Smith, Koffie- en Theegroothandel, Poelestraat 55, hoek Schuitendiep, in 1895 ontworpen door architect Nicolaas Willem Lit (1833-1907); de aanbesteding vond op 20-8-1895 plaats in het Koffiehuis van Piel op de Grote Markt. Nieuwsblad van het Noorden van 23-8-1895:

Op 5-8-1895 vroeg hij vergunning voor de bouw van dit pakhuis, met winkel en kantoor (Rijksmonument 486163), naast de Zaadhandel van Marten Talens (1845-1927) in de Poelestraat. H. Smith is Harmannus Smith (1830-1924). Hermannus Smith startte in 1855 met een koffiebranderij in de Poelestraat, hoek Schuitendiep. Op 29-6-1875 vroeg hij vergunning voor de bouw van een pakhuis Achter de Muur, mandelige gang bij Poelestraat (Kad H 356); dit pakhuis, stalling en wagenhuis werd op 29-1-1896 voor f. 8000 verkocht. In 1878 ontving H. Smith een hinderwetvergunning voor aan koffiebranderij in de Poelestraat 35 (H 1572). Op 14-5-1901 vroeg zijn zoon Gerrit Pieter Smith (1869-1933) vergunning voor de verbouw van het naastgelegen pand Poelestraat 53, en op 4-11-1911 vroeg hij vergunning voor het bouwen van een aanbouw aan de villa Zuiderpark 9 (Kad B 4084), in 1899/1900 gebouwd als dubbel woonhuis door B. Hagen en F. Roffel, naast het in 1880 door logementhouder Christoffer Stadlander (1839-1891) gebouwde woonhuis aan de Weg onder de Boompjes (Kad B 4083), later Zuiderpark 8-9. In 1911 verkocht B. Hagen de villa "Confiance" aan het Zuiderpark 9 (later 10), bewoond door Prof. Dr. K.F. Wenckebach, aan de firma J.L. Lagro & Zoon. Nieuwsblad van het Noorden van 14-8-1911:

This Coupe represents the 2nd generation/A40-A50-series. David Stollery was the designer, for Toyota's Calty Research Design Studio in California.
Some six different engines were available.

The Big Lemon have recently moved yards to across the road, although the office is still in the same old complex, the buses, drivers room and fuel is in the new yard. Seen in the old yard this lunchtime is the lemon van along with two Brighton vehicle rental vans. They have an office in the block where the lemons is.
A very short time-lapse of the van with the stars trailing around the north star. This was a very short shoot as the lens misted up and the battery died. Happy with the image though :)

"The Van Nelle factory was built between 1925 and 1931. Its most striking feature is its huge glass façades. The building is currently a high-tech centre for design and communication that houses between 50 and 70 small and medium-sized businesses. The factory grounds still largely retain their original design. Among the most striking features are the glass aerial walkways that connect the factory buildings and the shipping office.
The factory was designed on the premise that a modern, transparent and healthy working environment in green surroundings would be good both for production and for workers' welfare.
The complex is the result of the radical application of a number of cultural and technical concepts dating from the early twentieth century. This led to a new, functional approach to architecture that enjoyed mass appeal right from the start."
