"The Van Nelle factory was built between 1925 and 1931. Its most striking feature is its huge glass façades. The building is currently a high-tech centre for design and communication that houses between 50 and 70 small and medium-sized businesses. The factory grounds still largely retain their original design. Among the most striking features are the glass aerial walkways that connect the factory buildings and the shipping office.
The factory was designed on the premise that a modern, transparent and healthy working environment in green surroundings would be good both for production and for workers' welfare.
The complex is the result of the radical application of a number of cultural and technical concepts dating from the early twentieth century. This led to a new, functional approach to architecture that enjoyed mass appeal right from the start."

Dans cette explosion de couleurs, de bleu et de vert, caractérisant sa palette, Vincent leur a ici opposé des jaune, orange, rouge et rose. Ces mêmes combinaisons ont été utilisées pour les pommes du premier plan, mais dans l'ordre opposé, les tons chauds d'abord, suivis par des touches de vert et de bleu, ce qui crée l'unité de cette composition (cf. musée Van Gogh d'Amsterdam).

Over Eduard van Messel op Stolpersteine Schilderswijk (Nederlands)
A reasonably preserved example of a van that was a common sight in the early seventies. Unfortunately, in common with many vehicles at the time, the bodywork quality was not wonderful and most of them dropped to bits within a few years. This one certainly could do with a bit of attention, but it has done very well to last this long! This example carries the 1971 registration VOD 179J.

We wijken voor futuristische visioenen, en creëren setting voor nieuwsgierige, kritische en artistieke afwegingen. De expositie Arbeid van de dag vormt het vertrekpunt voor ontmoetingen tussen denkers, doeners en alleskunners.

Deze kapel, toegewijd aan Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-van-de-Akker, staat op de hoek van de Kapelstraat en de Torenstraat in Rotselaar. De kleine barokkapel uit 1702 is ingeplant tussen twee linden. De bakstenen kapel staat op een gecementeerde plint. De deur in de voorgevel heeft een ijzerzandstenen boogomlijsting, met erboven een ovaalrond oculus. De kapel werd in 1994 beschermd als monument. Samen met de bomen en de onmiddellijke omgeving vormt ze ook een beschermd dorpsgezicht.
