Tegeltableau op het pand op de hoek Laan van Meerdervoort/Waldeck Pyrmontkade. Het ontwerp is van Jan Olthuis (1851-1921), een Haagse art nouveau-architect die meerdere panden aan de Laan van Meerdervoort bouwde en een (in 1984 gesloopte) villa aan de Scheveningseweg. Over de herkomst van de tegeltableaus, ook van de hand van Olthuis, verschillen de bronnen van mening, zowel De Porceleyne Fles als Rozenburg worden genoemd; gezien de ligging in Den Haag lijkt dat laatste waarschijnlijker. De afbeeldingen zullen verwijzen naar de toentertijd in het pand gevestigde winkels.

Arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) as start of the tour.
Visited the famous Cho Binh Tay market, The old post office,
some war museums in the city center including a walk around the reunification Palace.
Sidetrip from the city is a daytrip to the Cao Dai Temple and the
Cu Chi Tunnel complex
Next part of the tour is heading south to the Mekong Delta and Can-Tho, including a visit to the floating market.
From the Mekong delta the tour is heading north again, visiting coastal places Phan-Thiet, Nha-Trang and qiu-Nhon.
Hoi-an and Hue are both Unesco World Heritage sites and well worth to visit.
Passing the DMZ-zone, the scenery changes quickly.
The Phong-Nha and Tan-Coc caves are amazing.
Almost at the end of the tour, we bumped into the crazy Hanoi traffic in the old city center.
The citytour included a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum,
the Army museum and best of all ice coffee at 'Highlands Coffee'
Last part included Unesco World Heritage at Halong Bay
Stop-over in Hong-Kong on the way Home !

Het water van rivier de Lek en de lucht er boven één en al oranje.
Tien minuten, langer niet duurde dit tafreel, toen werd het allemaal vuur rood ook mooi natuurlijk.

"The Van Nelle factory was built between 1925 and 1931. Its most striking feature is its huge glass façades. The building is currently a high-tech centre for design and communication that houses between 50 and 70 small and medium-sized businesses. The factory grounds still largely retain their original design. Among the most striking features are the glass aerial walkways that connect the factory buildings and the shipping office.
The factory was designed on the premise that a modern, transparent and healthy working environment in green surroundings would be good both for production and for workers' welfare.
The complex is the result of the radical application of a number of cultural and technical concepts dating from the early twentieth century. This led to a new, functional approach to architecture that enjoyed mass appeal right from the start."
