The Palace of the Parliament, seat of the Parliament of Romania, the second largest administrative building in the world after The Pentagon in the United States, built in the eighties of the 20th century under Nicolae Causescu's regime. In terms of weight, the Palace of the Parliament is the heaviest building in the world.
OK - it's a little late for Halloween - but I didn't find any small ornamental pumpkins here until after the fun was over ;o)
This morning I waited for some wonderful sunshine so I could photograph my pumpkin together with autumn leaves on our ranch fence. No sunshine, only a gale blowing and threatening rain. Finally I managed to capture the pumpkin on the top of the fence ... with long grasses blowing wildly behind. So - against all the odds .....
Happy Fence Friday! And have a wonderful, sunny weekend too ;o)

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. -- John Muir
YEAH! THIS PHOTO MADE EXPLORE FRONT PAGE! A first for me!
These falls sit in a small but beautiful wooded gorge, a world away from nearby busy Matlock. Walking through it, you pass crumbling ivy-covered old mill buildings, long abandoned and very atmospheric, slowly being reclaimed by nature.

Another from Thursday nights ice storm. This tree is in my back yard but I'm not really sure what it is. It flowers in the spring and then gets these berries which drop annoyingly all around the tree making a mess. This one was still hanging on.
Yup - we were right in one of the hardest hit areas, 1/4 of my town is still without power tonight. We were fortunate enough to get power back after 3 days.
Therefore I have to return each time
The wind through my hair

For my Autum through the lens album - the gates at Fyvie Castle last week, where the remaining leaves are being stripped from the trees, and the stark winter shapes are taking over!

Apologies for another shot from the trip to Leith Hall we made earlier in November. The road was lit up with the autumn sun and the autumn trees. Mostly all gone now, as winter closes in.
Happy Fence Friday! and have a great weekend too ;o)

The only tree we have that actually provides us with fruit is this Victoria plum which grows in a sheltered corner of the garden. Every year we anxiously watch as the lovely white blossoms unfurl, and pray that there will not be a frost harsh enough to kill the flowers. If that happens there will be no fruit come September! This year we have had constant frosts, but so far the flowers have survived! So we have fingers crossed for a plum harvest once again!
Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

The lakes and ponds are still frozen. Many footprints on the lake from those who ventured out, walking or skating. Temperatures are rising, but not enough to melt the snow and ice. I couldn't stay long in the park because I forgot my gloves and my hands were frozen.
On/Off - Thank you very much for your visit and comment! I really appreciate it!

FLICKR EXPLORE Aug.4, 2010 #387
La Toscana deve molto della sua fama nel mondo al paesaggio «costruito» dall’uomo
nel corso dei secoli. In questo contesto la coltura della vite ha senz’altro un
ruolo importante.
This tree is really old and struggles with some parasites, but it is doing well and chestnuts are under way.....
I know, I know... :-) I'm suppose to be off right now, but, I couldn't help but wish all of my Flickr Friends a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm not suppose to be watching television, using my laptop, etc. I've had surgery on my eyes and not suppose to strain them. So with that said, I will go and tell you once again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! P.S. Please view large...much prettier, I think!
