A year ago I went on a blossom trip in the Betuwe, an area well known for its fruit growing. I had it on my list for years, and I had very romantic thoughts about it.
This one more or less supports that romanticism, but I was rather disappointed how fruit growing has changed over the years. Not orchards with big and lush flowering trees in plain sight, but mostly very small ones hidden behind fences and hedges.
The little mill is a nice addition towards this typical dutch scene.

If it's your first time in the park, you can easily be walking in the canal and not realize it. It's been frozen for about two weeks. Yesterday on a short visit to the park, while the sun decided to come out after several days of cloudy days. Every winter people play hockey over the frozen canal.

first snow fall on our mountain ( Boxing Day)

Vliegenzwam -- Armanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, is a basidiomycete mushroom, one of many in the genus Amanita.
I finally had the opportunity to get out this morning and was greeted with a wonderful atmosphere. The sunrise was just coming through the canopy.

Recently traveling around my rural surroundings I came upon a "yellow-dressed moment". The field was adorned with yellow and it took my breathe away. The richness of color and the light were a once in a lifetime experience. A week later it was gone and faded....Amidst my own sorrows over the dying journey of my aunt/mother this spectacle roused my awe and yielded a wonderful respite.
