Blick auf das über 200 Jahre alte Hofgut Furpach und seinem zugefrorenen Gutsweiher.

View of the more than 200 year old Furpach estate and its frozen estate pond.

Daffodils from last year in a sunny day, they're always one of the first flowers of spring. Ours here need more rain, they are always looking down or sleeping... or maybe I have to see them in the morning? šŸ¤” Let's hope for more rainy days and new photos!

I love the sunflower -- it's beautiful and it gives us all kinds of foods, like oil and seeds. This one was growing wild, probably from a seed dropped by a bird or squirrel. Or maybe this is some wild variety.

Cherry blossoms are one of the most beautiful floral trees of spring. This photo is from last year with a camera that I don't have anymore. This year our blooms are very delayed because the windy/cold temperatures that don't want to go away.

A seaside resort was developed by Sir Richard Hotham in the late 18th century on what was a sand and gravel, undeveloped coastline. It has been claimed that Hotham and his new resort are portrayed in Jane Austen's unfinished novel Sanditon. The resort grew slowly in the first half of the 19th century but grew rapidly following the coming of the railway in 1864. In 1929 the area was chosen by advisors to King George V which led to its regal suffix, by royal consent. Butlin's has been present in the town since the early 1930s when an amusement park and zoo were opened. A holiday camp followed in 1960 and this has more recently moved towards hotel accommodation with modern amenities.

A year ago I went on a blossom trip in the Betuwe, an area well known for its fruit growing. I had it on my list for years, and I had very romantic thoughts about it.

This one more or less supports that romanticism, but I was rather disappointed how fruit growing has changed over the years. Not orchards with big and lush flowering trees in plain sight, but mostly very small ones hidden behind fences and hedges.

The little mill is a nice addition towards this typical dutch scene.
