Almost everything I'm shooting at the moment is frozen and snow-covered .... the winter snowed-in landscape and garden is so beautiful, especially when the sun shines!

Once in a great while, we get a truly spectacular sunrise - this was Sunday's.
Next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leave you speechless, remain that way. Say nothing, and listen as heaven whispers, "Do you like it? I did it just for you."

The landscape here is shot through with a patchwork of bright yellow as the rapeseed blooms. Set against the greens of the barley fields and pastures, and the deeper greens of the stands of forestry pines, it makes for a lively quilt ;o)

Often the wildflowers are multi-stemmed. Alone, they're quite insignificant but together they make beauty.
The weather today was perfect: A balmy 80C, virtually no humidity, fluffy clouds against an azure sky.

"What can you ever really know of other people's souls...of their temptations, their opportunities, their struggles? One soul in the whole creation you do know and it is the only one whose fate is placed in your hands."

The background of this was kind of orangey and really looked pretty bad with this lovely pink oleander bloom. I added a Hue Saturation layer and checked off the colorize box....took the saturation slider right over to the left and then just starting slowly painting the color back in. No texture used.
This year the tapestry has been cancelled due to Covid-19. In 2016 it was nearly cancelled because of the terrorist attacks in Brussels that happened in March. But it was not cancelled after all. The theme of the design in 2016 was: Japan. Let us hope that great cultural events are no longer cancelled from now on.

A quick visit to one of the most deadly beaches in California. Ocean Beach in San Francisco...it is extremely dangerous to even wade in the ocean at this beach.
Taken the day before the entire state got hit by a series of 5 storms in 5 days....each one worst than the last.

lost their power...but they still mean a lot to me, she will never

Taken on my drive yesterday morning on our clear day between snowstorms. This morning, as I type this, the snow is falling again. Tomorrow is forecast to be clear again and then more snow on Tuesday. I love White Christmases!
My friend Gail told me one thing she took away from a photography course she just did was to reset your camera settings after each use. I should have taken that advice, I realized half way through my outing yesterday that my WB was set to flash and I wasn't shooting RAW. Still, this worked out OK. I added a cooling filter in Photoshop.

Came across this swamp land in a clearing and was struck by the bleach white cadavers of trees. A stark reminder of how fragile nature truly is.
