Today is "SHADES OF YELLOW FRIDAY"

Quote of the Day:

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."

~ Helen Keller

He is sad because all of the villagers are running away. But also happy because now he can destroy their village.

A building for tiny and small ungulates, made for Paradizoo, a zoo in the wetter forests of Australia.

Cambridge St Peter, the second oldest church in Cambridge, dates from around 11th century. I do not believe it can hold more than 10-20 people. The door was locked when I visited, but the key is available at Kettle's Yard nearby. The doorway looks Norman, but is apparently medieval. Some of the supporting columns are made of wood.

Amaya said it was too cold to go out this morning for a photo with the tiny snowman in the snow that has not melted yet. This is a very tiny styrofoam snowman she is now adopting. I have had it as a small Christmas decoration.

I like to collect things in my travels…just little things…delicate things…things that catch my eye and remind me of where I've been or what I've done. This shell full of little treasures sits on my cupboard. It's filled with some memories…

A starfish brought back by a friend who had gone to Prince Edward Island

A tiny purple stone encircled with a line of white, brought back from the east coast

A shell with a heart shape cut out…so unique

A shark tooth found on a beach in Florida…it was so fun searching for those shark teeth

Other shells collected with the kids on the beaches in Florida…a highlight from our trip

An old rusty key…from times long past

I think many of us have a collection of treasures that remind us of things we've done, places we've visited, lives that have touched and blessed us…concrete mementos bringing us back to those treasured moments in life. In the end we can take none of these things with us but while we are yet here it is nice to be reminded of the blessings of life.

I had to get very low to shoot these straight on. In fact, I sat down to get a couple of frames. About as much effort as I was willing to take on this 95 degree day.

"There are philosophies as varied as the flowers of the field,

and some of them weeds and a few of them poisonous weeds.

But they none of them create the psychological conditions

in which I first saw, or desired to see, the flower."

~ G. K. Chesterton

Everybody forgot about him, and now he’s been sitting in the pantry for the better part of a year. Hooray for not being boiled, smashed or fried and eaten!

I'm amazed at the tiny seedlings popping up in my indoor gardening area - so fun to start from seed.
