Walking around the neighborhood with the 60mm macro lens is a great way to hone the skill of observation. These tiny pod-like blooms blend in so well with the foliage on the bush that you probably wouldn't even notice them if just passing by. But with the macro lens and its ~6 inch minimum focal length nothing is too small for a photo op !
I don't usually haul along the tripod when doing neighborhood macros, but I probably should try that, since the 60mm lens has such a narrow dof that it's very tricky to keep anything in focus.

These tiny blue blossoms made their appearance in my garden last weekend. Finally a sign of Spring ! There seems to be still hope ! :)
Made with 3/4" squares and 1/8" seam allowances and scraps from my tiny-scraps basket. I love the little patchwork and really love the project I made from it. I will share that very soon... And I will include the pattern piece and quick "tutorial" to make your own!

These tiny mushrooms are in the little patch of woods near my house. I didn't stay to take photos of them for long because the mosquitoes there were fierce, but I had to pause to admire such pretty tiny things.

Former broad gauge locomotive TINY is seen on it's plinth at Newton Abbot station on 3rd September 1979.
Built in 1868 for the South Devon Railway, the locomotive worked at Sutton Docks until 1883. It was then installed as part of the hydrostatic test stand in Newton Abbot shed, where it stayed until 1927. It was then refurbished and placed on display as seen here until the mid-1980s, when it was moved to the Buckfastleigh museum.

The card is made from off-white #cardstock, #Aquarell @SchminckePaint www.schmincke.de/produkte/aquarellfarben/horadam-aquarell... on @hahnemuehle #Fineart #Britannia #watercolour #paper with a @royallangnickel Royal & Langnickel brush @royalbrushart. For the #silver rays I used a @pentel_eu #Pentel silver gel ink roller #gelroller #gelink. I then took the picture with my #iPhone.

we arrived in osaka on a saturday evening, worn out from the long plane ride, train trip into the city, navigating osaka station (no easy task when it handles 2.3 million passengers a day, seriously!), and somehow managing to locate our hotel for the night. of course, my original plans had involved rushing right out after arriving to find and line up at a famous and popular sushi place, but given our state of being it just wasn't happening. fortunately, my food radar had kicked in and i spotted this little alley full of tiny bar style restaurants deep in the heart of osaka station, so after dropping off our luggage i convinced a rather dubious andy to return to it and try some kushikatsu, one of the local specialties. (osaka has a tendency towards quick, savoury street food, which is always ok with me). along with some cold beverages, these little skewers of battered and panko'd seafood, meat and vegetables totally hit the spot. there are communal pots of delicious tonkatsu sauce for dipping on the bar; the only rule is no double dipping please!
our friendly japanese neighbour at the 6 seat bar (on the right here) commented on our camera gear and told us we were lucky to have ended up at this particular joint, popular among locals for some of the best kushikatsu in osaka!
