Detail from one of the miniature coffins for the foetuses.
Two miniature anthropoid coffins found inside an undecorated wooden box placed side by side, the lid of the box sealed with the jackal and nine captive motif. The outer surface of the coffins painted with black resin decorated with gilded bands with inscription. Stripes of linen had been tied around the coffins beneath the chin and around the waist and ankles. When the linen was removed and the lids taken away, the coffins were each found to contain a second coffin, with a gilded surface. Inside these gilded coffins were two tiny mummified foetuses. Upon the first mummy head was placed a well modeled mask of gilded cartonnage.

A Great Blue Heron was hiding on this tiny island in the middle of Joe's Creek. The horizon is not straight because I shot through a chain link fence and propped the 450 on the fence to take this. I'm rather surprised I got a decent image out of the whole experience at all.
Tiny fly that got into my house, 3-4 mm long, possibly Paradidyma bicincta, a Tachinid fly. Sorry about the photo quality, taken with overhead light in the bathroom. Larvae of all Tachinidae are parasitic on other insects. Usually, as in this case, the host insect is unknown.
