This squirrel was SO cute, even I might have been tempted to give it some peanuts - if I had been carrying some. Unfortunately it went away empty handed! Seen in the Los Angeles County Arboretum.

As I walked through the Los Angeles County Arboretum I came across this beautiful grouping of Mandarin Oranges ! I was sorely tempted - they looked gorgeous lying there unprotected in the sun !! But I resisted and left them for others - and there may be many takers ! Sadly, there are now new signs in the Rose Garden indicating that it is under "video surveillance" - I guess even rose cuttings are viewed as "for the taking" by some visitors !
She's already been damaged by this barn cat (bandage under her chin) but she's going to try again..... Learning the hard way.

The colourful small balloons fixed on a square shaped board are targets for Air Rifle shooting. One can exhibit his or her shooting skill at a very low price. These small mobile facilities can be seen in parks and public places on special occasions and festivals. Little kids are the main participants on the shooting spree although older people are no less enthusiastic.

With gale force winds, waves crashing five stories high and roiling seas, this photographer braves it all to shoot Thor's Well at Cape Perpetua. Even from my high vantage point, I was catching ocean mist. I cannot imagine this guy shooting in these conditions. I've already trashed one camera at this place last year, wasn't going to tempt fate on a day like this again. Thor's Well, Cape Perpetua National Monument. Yachats, Oregon USA
