She smiles behind her silver mask,

A trickster’s art, a deadly task.

To cross her path is to tempt the night,

For beauty burns with hidden bite.

Poor Mr. Worm, he will never get a bit of my fig. They are one of my favorite foods and I don't like to share.

We have taken a ride outside the city yesterday, being tempted by an amazing sky. We've decided to visit an area we have not explored before. We have discovered Beaverhill Lake Natural Area and decided to take a closer look. Beautiful place, great views, gorgeous sky and absolutely wonderful feel of spring in the air were our rewards. We have encountered a bit of hail brought by one of the gorgeous clouds while walking the paths, but it was a small price to pay for the most wonderful time we have had. Lots of birds, some butterflies, great smell of the aspen forest.. Just a beauty of a day. Here is a few of the shots I took on the way and while walking the trails. Hope you enjoy ;D

to anyone tempted to remove an adder from its habitat to take what will inevitably be an artificial looking photograph, and one that will of course also stress the animal, I would urge a stealthy approach instead. Just remember not to get within striking distance...

a fun little incidental...

The bright yellow flower spikes of this beautiful Popcorn Cassia plant occur off and on all summer, covering the plant with a pop of color, and emitting the scent of slightly burnt popcorn. In the south, these plants can be treated as perennials. In the Northern states, gardeners treat these as annuals. Caterpillars of adorable lemon yellow butterflies called the Cloudless Sulphur butterfly love to munch on it. Even with the tempting smell of popcorn it is not edible to humans.

She beckoned him into the tomb just as the first rays of light crested the hilltop, and he followed.

I'm going to start posting my thoughts like this every once in a while

I was NONE to please this guy walked into my shot! OH PEOPLE!!!! If I had photoshop I would zap him out. But I loved sitting on the rocks watching the waves crash!

“Anyone whose goal is ‘something higher’ must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”
