Another cracking day yesterday,so I took advantage of the sunshine and headed down to Freshy after work to take advantage of the colours that come with sunshine and a light nor-easter.
This was better than the day before as the wind was only light.
I've owned the70-200mm f2.8L for a number of years and only ever used it for portrait shots of the kids, that is until now.
I really like the look the long focal length gives off.
Might have to sell my other lenses and upgrade this to the markii hahahaha.
Hope you like.

I was tempted to go closer but I think this works ok. I actually like the imperfections of the colours with the blue tint but look into the yard the sun is shining it's winter glow making it all very mysterious.

I've been to Grand Central Station to take photos on four separate occasions in the past couple of years (click here and here and here and here to see the Flickr sets). But it has been almost exactly a year since I was last here with my camera, and I was curious to see whether the Christmas "spirit" would be visible again this year.
Two years ago, I reported seeing large groups of tourists and people (as well as a couple of soldiers) moving quickly from the ticket booth to the trains, hurrying to arrive home for the holidays. There was also an animated "light show" playing all across the ceiling of Grand Central at various intervals; consequently, there were several shots of people staring straight up at the ceiling, with a look of wonder and amazement on their faces...
Last year, the scene was different: I saw dozens of would-be and make-believe Santa Clauses. I was told later that there was a "Santathon" in the city, and that similarly costumed Clauses were in evidence throughout the midtown shopping area. In the Grand Central station, there were also costumed elves, Santa's helpers, and comely young women with decorative antlers on their heads.
And as if that wasn't enough, there was also a bridal party engaged in the serious business of getting photographed in the midst of the crowd. Perhaps it was just my imagination, but the bride and groom looked distinctly Russian; in any case, they were an unusual sight, and I was happy to include them in the overall tableau...
But this year, there was little or no evidence of Christmas spirit -- indeed, the absence was so striking that I made a second visit just to be sure. My first visit was on a Saturday, one week before Christmas; and the second visit was on the Thursday before Christmas (i.e., Dec 22nd), when there should have been lots of evidence of joyful people and Santa-Claus outfits, and maybe even some Christmas carols wafting through the air.
Instead, I saw only the hustle and bustle of busy travelers that one can see almost anytime during the year. Things may have been a little more crowded with the recent opening of Apple's fifth retail computer store, over on the eastern mezzanine of the train station; but even that was somewhat muted, and could easily have been missed or overlooked.
I was tempted to go back one last time today, on the day before Christmas; but then I decided not to push my luck. I've got a dozen photos for you to see; and I can only hope that things look more Christmas-y next year.
Meanwhile, though, I do offer my best wishes to the entire Flickr family of photographers and photo-watchers, for a very happy holiday season and a happy, prosperous, peaceful New Year in 2012!
I originally thought she would have bangs but now I am confused. I like her like this yet I am so tempted to see her with bangs.

God fashioned Adam from dust and placed him in the Garden of Eden. Adam is told that he can eat freely of all the trees in the garden, except for the tree which contains knowledge of good and evil. Subsequently, Eve is created from one of Adam's ribs to be his companion. An evil serpent convinces Eve to eat fruit taken from the forbidden tree, she gives some of the fruit to Adam and they are banished from the Garden of Eden.

Our Daily Challenge 24 February-2 March : Ist Person Chores.
Ralphie has become very fussy in his old age, and I can spend more than 30 minutes twice a day getting him to eat.
A chicken breast, served at the temperature of a recently killed mouse, is acceptable, followed by an Irish skinless sausage.
Later he will probably eat his dry kibble mixed with Ardennes or Brussels pate and topped with Waitrose Essential chicken ham and sweetcorn Deli filler.
I have never had a dog who wasn't keen on food before !
Truly a daily challenge!
And it's yummy right now in the heat of summer...

Sri Guru Granth Sahib
The Guru Granth Sahib (Punjabi), or Adi Granth, is the religious text of Sikhism. It is a voluminous text of 1430 Angs, compiled and composed during the period of Sikh gurus, from 1469 to 1708. It is a collection of hymns (shabda) or baani describing the qualities of God and why one should meditate on God's name. Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth guru, affirmed the sacred text Adi Granth as his successor, elevating it to Guru Granth Sahib. The text remains the holy scripture of the Sikhs, regarded as the teachings of the Ten Gurus. The role of Adi Granth, as a source or guide of prayer, is pivotal in worship in Sikhism.

Is is HOT where you are? Watching the TV coverage of the weather in central part of the continent makes me glad i live in Nova scotia where the temperatures are much more bearable. We had a taste of the heat when we were in Ontario..35C (95F) is too hot for me! And i know it is hotter in many places.
Outdoor dining with a cold, thirst-quenching beer was a nice treat when we were away.
