Here's a shot taken on the 6th night of my SW trip. It was really late and Wayne and I where trying to squeeze in as many locations as we could before he had to head back to Salt Lake for a flight home. We hit this spot and immediately started setting up the lighting, It seemed that after shooting together for a short time we managed to work out a great procedure to prevent spoiled exposures do to a headlamps being turned on during an exposure, and after an hour or so it seemed like we had been shooting together for years, we were snapping away and not having any difficulty stepping on toes so to speak. The first night we were shooting together at the Kiva, Wayne had kindly offered to let me use his 6D since he would be using a new Nikon 810a and it was a tempting offer, and now that I think about it, I probably should have, just to say I had a photo taken with Wayne Pinkston's camera. But I was determined to see it through with my 70D so I really push the ISO on this shot and extend my exposure time as there would be less movement in the MW at this angle. The milky way was really high in the sky at about 2:00am which makes for a bluer sky and at this angle I didn't have to fight with light pollution. I was able to capture this shot at my camera's maximum ISO setting and It is a single exposure at 4000k white balance. All of the night photos from this trip I have been varying the white balance so that I could establish a white balance I like the best. :)

We used "LLL" to light the scene here.

Tempted, all is vacant

I've been down before

I need replacement

Who knows just where the end is

Who cares what you're defending

I can't see

What you want from me

I can't be, no

What you want me to be

Angel...

Decending, she's never faking

You can see her eyes

There's no mistaking

She knows where the end is

She says just stop pretending

I can't see

What you want from me

I can't be, no

What you want me to be, no

Angel of mine

Angel...

But she said

I'm not bothered

And you're the same

Well I'm done with love

And you're to blame

Sit down

Why don't you listen

Have an open heart

Whoa to our position

The neck on which diamonds might have worthily sparkled, will look less tempting when the biting winter has hung icicles there for gems.

Something a bit different. The lighting on the boat and the trees is from a "street" lamp (obscured by the foliage). It looks HDR'd but actually, no. It looks unnatural but I think it works somehow.

Pre COVID I often visited the woods at Morgaston and then wandered into the house grounds of The Vyne NT property - I am a member- and wandered round the lake to the cafe for lunch before returning. These days of course all walks have to stop at the gate to this very tempting path unless you have booked a space. I am looking forward to a time when there is less danger of infection and when we do not have to plan everything in advance!

Look at these Gos Shoes... How can you not just smile :)

That fresh powder and blue skies are so tempting for anyone wanting to walk into this scene.

I don't know, but it seems as though a booth right next to the door would be a good place for a vendor at an antiques fair; your stuff would be the first thing that potential customers see when they enter, and the last thing to tempt them before they walk out. But in this case, the woman with the stroller just walked right past without a glance. Oh well...

Porth Nanven aka Cot Valley beach is near St Just, Cornwall.

Porth Nanven has sometimes been referred to as 'Dinosaur Egg Beach' in the media because of a remarkable deposit of ovoid boulders covering the beach and foreshore. These boulders come in all sizes, from hen's egg to a metre or more in length, and have proved so tempting as souvenirs that they are now legally protected by the National Trust which owns the beach.

Many visitors assume that these weirdly shaped boulders are the work of the sea, which they are, but the sea of 120,000 years ago. Sea levels have changed several times since then and are now much lower, causing the ancient beach to be suspended in the cliff above the present level. Stand on the beach and look back towards the cliff, and you will see a wall of the rounded rocks waiting to break away and join those on the beach today. (Ref Wikipedia).

I'd never been to Porth Nanven but had heard so much about it and just about every Tog I bumped into in Cornwall recommended it as a place to shoot. I'd scouted it a day or 2 earlier when the tide times I got from the web proved to be wrong and had been swearing at Google Sat Nav as it tried to take me won some roads in St Just which were just not wide enough for modern cars! I'd read that during the summer sand tends to get deposited amongst the 'eggs' and this certainly seemed to be the case here. I didn't get the images I expected because of the amount of sand and tide levels but grabbed a few which I was quite happy with and this is one. I was playing about with shutter speeds and portrait v landscape orientations. During this time those foreground clouds moved out of shot so I will own up to blending a sky from one image with the seascape from another but they were only taken a few minutes apart so in my book I think that's OK but I know the purists may not agree. I liked the sense of movement of the water around the rock in this foreground.

This one popped up together with leaves and grass, wonderful color 💞 It's even edible, but you need quite a few to get a mouthful 😊

Treat yourself to something tempting this weekend, you deserve it! What's your pick?

Stock Dove, these are amber listed, which surprised me. Just 7 more LD2 days to go (8 if you count the 2nd Dec)

I did get some Sparrowhawk close-up's which I was tempted to use, but resisted. I might put a couple up as well. Another horrible wet day with high ISO - who knows what's in store for us tomorrow?
