DB Schenker 86 012 with special train with TCDD diesel locomotive DE 29 006. The engine was transported for the InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin in the end of September 2014.
In a relatively short period of time at Eskişehir station whilst waiting departure time for the 'Pamukkale Ekspresi,' we were treated to a perfect example of the upturn in freight traffic in Turkey, with four freight trains passing in 90mins. First to appear was this Eastbound container train, with E68 037 and DE24 199.

TCDD steam locomotive 56 513 has left Izmir Basmane station at 11.00 a.m. with a train to Eskesehir and is seen passing the famous single level crossing at Hilal on 8 August 1977.
The 10-car (silver and red) version of the E3200 units operate the complete 77km Marmaray route from Halkalı on the European side of Istanbul to Gebze on the Asian (Anatolian) side. The 5-car (turquoise and white) version supplements this service by shuttling back and forth on the core Zeytinburnu (Europe)-Söğütlüçeşme (Asia) section.
Two of TCDD's EMD G26CW-2 locos sit at journey's end in Izmir Basmane station. DE22 013 has arrived on the 06.15 from Usak, whilst DE22 048 has arrived on 'Izmir Mavi' the 23.30 overnight from Eskişehir.

As the sun sets over the city of İzmir, and more particularly Basmane station, E68 034 is ready for departure to Ankara via Balıkesir and Eskişehir - electrification of the entire route has been completed recently - and DE22 001 is awaiting its departure almost an hour later to Konya via Afyon - that line is not electrified and probably won't be, seeing as it is to be paralleled by the Ankara - İzmir high speed line in the near future. Basmane (İzmir), 23-03-2022.
An on-time arrival at Izmir Basmane on the 'Konya Mavi' overnight, and we were happy to see DE24 334 (a recent transfer in from Afyon) on the 07.30 Izmir Basmane - Uşak.
